Unfortunately when you open the first page of this book you are faced with the fact that you’re not going to get anything else done until you reach the final page (and even then you might need some recovery time to decompress!) Clear the diary, THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE BANGER of a thriller and possibly the worst wedding day ever. Recommend!
I would firstly like to thank Netgalley and the publishers for allowing me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a first read from this author, and I'm looking forward to reading more.
Imagine your new husband being carted off by the police for murder.... on your wedding day?!?! I would be absolutely mortified!!
The situation was certainly intriguing which kept me reading; but unfortunately I just couldn't bring myself to particularly like any of the characters.
I wasn't expecting that reveal though!
Still a decent read!
I really liked this author and this book did not disappoint, it was an appropriately paced, page turner that will have me hooked throughout the story.
Wow! What a wedding day they had! and thus begins the thrill ride! A great read from start to finish!
I really didn’t know what to expect when I started reading this book. I’ve never read anything by,this author before, Well after the first few chapters I was completely hooked. A book full of surprises and omg moments. I loved it.
A brilliant book from start to finish, couldn't put it down, absolutely loved it. Highly recommended, and it really keeps you guessing and I didn't read in the dark!
Absolutely enjoyed from start to finish, u didn't want the book to end. Highly recommended, if you like books that keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat.
Really enjoyed this book! It’s the first I’ve heard of Stephen Edger and I will definitely read another of his books. The writing style was really easy to read and I enjoyed how it flowed; a lot of books take place of a long period of time and can skips days and weeks at a time, but this one took place over about a week and each chapter flowers nicely into the next without missing time. None of the characters in the story are perfect, they all seem to have flaws of some sort which was also quite refreshing because so many books try to at least paint one perfect character and make them the victim. Highly recommend!
Loved this! Was a great and exciting read :) pick it up if you get the chance! Brilliant and easy to read.
I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. Well written and kept me on the edge of my couch. I didn't see the twist at the end at all. Great book
It is really hard to write a review of this book. So much happens in this novel, and it is all meant to be one twist or reveal after another, so there is very little I can say plot-wise. I will say that this book literally kept me up all night. So much was happening so fast there was no way I could put it down. This book is extremely fast-paced and I warn you, make sure you have time carved out to read this book possibly in one sitting. It is that riveting. It definitely kept me entertained. I have to say it does have a few downsides though. You have to suspend disbelief more and more as the book goes on. It doesn't cross into the fantastical or anything, but so much happens, it becomes hard to believe. I will say though...I really wanted to believe and I went with it even though I did have a small voice in the back of my mind saying, ok this would never happen. There are many books like that though, so it really depends on how much you are willing to let your imagination flow and just go with it. It is a hard book to rate also, because I really enjoyed it, but I had trouble believing it. I guess I would give it 3 and a half stars. I liked it and almost really liked it. I think anyone that likes thrillers and suspense should give it a chance.
Unpopular opinion here, but I hated this book. When I began reading I just knew that I wasn't going to be gripped at any point. At 20% I began skimming. And when I got to the big reveal I just wished I listened to myself at about 20% and put it in my DNF pile. There is absolutely nothing I liked about this book. I didn't particularly enjoy the writing, I didn't like the characters and there was lots of filler. An unbelievable story.
Really enjoyable read. Good characters and a Good story. Well worth a read. Think others will enjoy.
Another great read from Stephen Edger. I did have suspicions about who was sending the letters and was correct there but I didn't guess who the killer was. ...that was a surprise!
Your wedding day. The day. Plans. Preparation. Hopes and dreams. In Till Death Do Us Part, Alice has hoped, dreamed and planned for this day to be the perfect day. Unfortunately, Murphy’s Law prevails, and in such a way that the “happy couple” are unable to leave for their honeymoon. Her new husband Ben is not only arrested on their wedding day, but the charge against him is murder. What a time to find out that the person you love and have just married may not be who you think they are. There are so many secrets contained within this story. Ben is suddenly spending a lot to time with his best friend, Dave. What are they hiding? Alice’s friend needs her desperately. Alice starts to receive letters stating that Ben is a killer. Which way should she turn? Who can she trust? Soon things become even more dangerous and someone else is in danger. This book is entertaining and surprising. Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to review this book.
Pity, sympathy, boo-hoo and whatnot, emotions were at an all-time high. I wished to see some change in Alice as the story ended but nope, nada. I found the blurb interesting and that is the only reason I chose to read this book. I did not expect this to be a domestic drama.
Overall, this was an okayish read.
I received a digital copy of this from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
I've read a couple of Stephen's books before and have loved them all. This was no exception! I couldn't put it down and was gripped from the first page. My theory about who the murderer was changed a few times throughout this book but when it was revealed, boy was I in for a shock! I certainly hadn't expected that! I had however worked out who was leaving the notes at the house, but it didn't lessen the thrill of the story for me.
Another great book by Stephen and I can't wait to read more by him in the future. I definitely recommend this book.
I started this with high expectations that I was going to read a great thriller but sorry, it isn't that! After a while I found it quite predictable and tended to skip quite a few parts. I don't understand why this guy's new wife was being the detective and think the book should have been written more from the police's perspective. Didn't really enjoy it and was quite glad to get to the predictable end. Knew who did it from the first few chapters - sorry. I am however grateful to Netgalley and One More Chapter for giving me a copy to read and review.

This book might not be the kind of thriller that leaves you completely breathless, but the writing itself might be the best that I’ve encountered in a while. Don’t get me wrong, there’s mystery and tension and I did appreciate the scenario. I’m just saying that the way the author dug into the characters minds and relations simply eclipsed everything else. And in no way this is an issue.
What we know from the synopsis and from the first pages of the book is that on their wedding day, Ben, the groom, is taken by the police and accused of murder.
So naturally, this introduction already makes you imagine that Alice, the bride, which will start doubting her new husband as soon as she finds out the details that led to this terrible situation. This is what would happen in any good thriller, right? But if you think about it, this wouldn’t happen in real life. In reality, if you’re choosing a person to be your lifelong partner, you will trust that person to the deepest. And this was the most surprising part for me. That Stephen Edger chose to work with a more realistic version of the characters’ reactions rather than the one you’d expect from a book and that would probably increase the suspense even more. I absolutely loved the trust between the two main characters, the way they cling to each other at any given time and don’t let go easily, no matter how difficult the situations might be, no matter how many doubts and questions their minds would create. Because every new detail that shows up during the development of the investigation, every new untold truth that comes up later has a high potential of destroying their relationship. And despite that, Alice doesn’t end up giving up on Ben, she doesn’t share her fears with anybody else outside of their new family, she keeps fighting every urge to feel uncertain about him. And with all the lies that unclock day by day, that’s a really tough thing to do.
As I said earlier, the whole story is definitely gonna keep you hooked from the beginning till the explosive ending, even if it’s not really the kind of book that makes you forget to eat and sleep just to get another chapter done. The rhythm is not rushed, some chapters are slow paced, but overall, you will die of curiosity to find out what really happened. But definitely, the best and most amazing part of the book is the way the characters deal with the nightmare they woke up into.
This is the first book I have read by this author but it won’t be the last. It really kept me guessing throughout and who I thought was the killer wasn’t at all. I would have liked a little more resolution to the story as I hate a bit of an open ending and also it loses a star as some of the phrasing was a little corny at times. Thank you to Netgalley, the author and One More Chapter for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
