I had read an earlier copy of Think and Grow Rich and always loved it , so enjoyed getting the Original Edition with Bonus Material. The lessons have still transcended almost a century of time, these pages cover the 13 Steps to Riches and how to use them to achieve the success you have always wanted.
I wish I hadn’t requested to read this one. I can’t think of a more unsuitable book for myself.
As A Man Thinketh or The Alchemist may be more enjoyable.
This is a classic in its own right. An interesting read for that alone. I'm still not rich yet though...
Always a good book to read! For those starting out their journey to wealth, this book is one of the essential ones to have on your shelf.
DNF at 23%. This book was not for me. The stories went on and on without a point. The author was constantly hinting at "The Secret" and spent a large part of the beginning saying how much this book will change your life. We get it, now get on with the life changing part. In the end I could not push through.
A classic but one I reread often, highly recommend this for anyone looking to improve their success!
A classic that I can read over and over. Simple to understand it's concept but with big rewards. I recommend this book highly.
Principles for Achieving Your Goals
Whether becoming rich or achieving some other goal is what you desire, this is a useful book. Written in 1937 the book is still applicable today. The premise of the book is that you can use your mind and emotions to become rich. The author suggests that this is a secret and gives a number of biographical sketches to prove his point.
The book tells of a number of great men: Dale Carnegie, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, and others who used the principles to become fabulously wealthy. Interestingly many of the people in the book did not achieve ultimate success until after they were forty. This may have to do with finally acquiring the discipline to bring your energy to bear on your goal.
Although this book was written many years ago, the advice is applicable today. Having a goal and the persistence to work for it, are time tested ways to achieve success whether it’s riches or some other equally desirable outcome.
I enjoyed the book and recommend it to anyone who wants to achieve a worthwhile objective and is willing to work for it.
I received this book from St. Martin’s Press for this review.
A timeless self help classic. The messages will always be relevant and this book will continue to inspire people. It is a while since I have read it, and I can still find new things and new angles each time I dip it. Anyone interested in self help literature and self improvement should read this. It has been studied and copied in parts by many self help authors over the years but nothing beats the original.
This book was received as an ARC from St. Martin's Press in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.
Think and Grow Rich is a timeless classic that offers great financial advice and reflects on practices that have been around for over a century. Even though the book was written in 1937 and it is now 2019, a lot of the examples and practices still apply today which is very hard to do not to become obsolete with the technology of this world changing everyday. Finances and Money are huge problems still today for a lot of people and this book will help them get out of debt and apply principles that never go obsolete.
We will consider adding this title to our Non-Fiction section at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.
Timeless classic that never gets old and the information is just as applicable today. Once you've read it for the first time, let it soak in and then when you enter another phase or decision in life - read it again. You will absorb information that you didn't pick up on the first time. I truly believe this book to be one that every college student or young adult needs to read before going out on their own.
It is written by Napoleon Hill and also includes additional writings/articles that have been found and added to the end. The information within the pages has been used and tested by many well known Americans - including Andrew Carnegie, Charles M. Schwab, Henry Ford and President Woodrow Wilson. Do yourself a favor and get this book in hard copy so you can mark it up and continue taking notes as you read it over and over!
Great classic. It is timeless for a reason, as the lessons included are still relevant today.
Some words presented a challenge for me because English is the 3rd language I learned, but after a quick check, everything made perfect sense.
This book will encourage you to believe in yourself, and give you many exercises to help you with that.
