I really enjoyed this book and love finding a new series even if its just starting out. I love Kelly's books and cant wait for the next one.

This premise was really hard to believe. The sudden Vegas marriage was ridiculously half baked. I felt like the plot didn't really come together. The heroine didn't feel like a real person in anyway.

This is one of those books that grows on you the longer you read. The writing was a little choppy for me in the beginning, but as I became engrossed in the story it didn't seem to matter. Théo's so anal, and I freakin' love it, almost as much as I love Lacey pushing him outside of his comfort zone. The development of the relationship between these two is a really entertaining journey. And don't even get me started on the sh*tshow that is the Wynn family--I'm scared to learn more, and at the same time I'm beyond intrigued by the messiness. I'd definitely say this one is worth giving a try!
Thank you to Loveswept and NetGalley for the advance reader's copy in exchange for an honest review!

Théo Wynn is part of the Wynn hockey dynasty. Everyone in his family has something to do with hockey, wether they play it, own it, manage it or work in the back offices. On top of that, there is plenty of drama to go around. When his grandfather approaches him to come and manage his team the Los Angeles Condors, Théo decides to make the move from Las Vegas. Right now he’s an assistant manager and the thought of making all the top decisions, excites him. He’s always been a numbers guy, but that’s not how he started. Playing hockey was his first love, till the accident when a puck hit his eye. At one point they thought he would lose his eyesight, thank goodness that didn’t happen, even thou he was never able to play professionally again. On his last night in Vegas, Théo goes out for drinks with his teammates.
When Lacey Olson finds out that her addicted gambling brother has emptied everything in her bank account again, she panics. How will she pay her rent. Lacey has been bailing him out since their mother passed away. A waitress in one of the more famous casinos in Vegas, she likes her job but not the long hours in high heels. On this particular night, Lacey is having a difficult time with a group of men that are looking for her brother, since he stiffed their bookie. Now they say she has to work for them as a prostitute to pay his debt. Théo, who was nearby heard all this transpiring and came to her rescue. If things couldn’t get any worse, she gets fired since those goons insisted she had stolen money from them. Now that they are threatening her, Lacey knows she needs to get out of dodge. When Théo invites Lacey to come with him to LA till her brother gets his act together, she thinks he’s crazy, but then it got crazier. He proposes that they get married!
This is another hit for Kelly Jamieson! There is nothing she can’t write!

I really like Kelly Jamieson's Aces Hockey series and have even wrote about how smart the female characters are. When this came up on NetGalley, I was so happy to be approved. I think my mistake was I'd get something similar to Aces. Mistake!
The humor was crude, our main gal Lacey wasn't anything close to inspirational and the family tree remains awkward and confusing. It was disappointing. Jamieson's storytelling is usually so good and strong... well, from my experience on a few Aces books.
I'm hoping for better and will keep an eye out for 1 or 2 more in this series in hopes it gets better. There are just a handful of authors that get hockey romance right and Jamieson's one of them.
The only plus in this book was Theo.

I loved this first book in Kelly Jamieson’s new hockey series. Play to Win was a great introduction to the world of the fictional California Condors, as well as Theo and Lacey. Theo is an assistant general manager of a hockey team when his grandfather convinces him to take over as general manager of the Condors. His grandfather is the team owner and promises to let him have total control of the team. Theo also knows that it will cause an additional family rift with his father and uncle, who are involved with a competing team and aren’t speaking to his grandfather. He accepts, and before he leaves his Las Vegas home, he is out for a celebratory night with his friends when he meets Lacey. She’s a cocktail waitress who finds herself in the midst of a bad situation. One thing leads to another, and before the end of the evening Theo and Lacey are married. Their goals are to get Lacey out of her current situation, and for Theo to be able to go back home to California and face his ex, who cheated on him with his brother.
The situation is a little contrived, but the fun and well-developed characters make up for it. Theo and Lacey are adorable, and their humor shines through even in moments of angst. While this book is a hockey romance, I liked reading it from Theo’s perspective, instead of the players’ this time around. Jamieson is a pro when it comes to hockey romance, and she makes this story fresh and engaging. I can’t wait to see what she has in store next for the Condors.

So I must confess that I am a little in love with Theo and his family. They are a frigging hoot!
This entire book was a joy to read, from the first meeting, to swooping in and saving, the road trip, Orgasm stop anyone? living together, Lacey's light attracting so many people. The way that Theo and Lacey complement each other. I loved reading everything, except the misunderstanding portion of the book, knew it was going to happen, just wish there had been a different way of moving them forward. But chapter 26th? OMG did I laugh! and I admit to a little crying. Love the Wynn family and cant wait for more!

I love a good sports romance! After reading Major Misconduct by Kelly Jamieson I knew I wanted to read this one too. It’s a pretty good story. I enjoyed the characters and this version of the “marriage of convenience” theme. At the same time it didn’t have the snap-crackle-and-pop that leaves you not wanting their story to end. I’m also turned off by first person narrative.

Another incredible new series starter here for Kelly Jamieson! The Wynn family sure ought to keep us going for quite some time! They are a hockey family-some play, some own and some manage, but all clearly love it! The family dynamics here are interesting to say the very least and highly entertaining. I’m already loving this series and this is just book 1.
Theo used to play hockey but a career ending eye injury has him on the other side now managing a team. He is a numbers guy and very organized and has a plan for everything.
Lacey’s plans have not exactly gone how she wanted them too. She has a lot going on either her brother and she just takes things as they come and hopes they will get better.
When Lacey and Theo meet the sparks fly high and life is about to be very different for both of them.
I love every single thing about this book! The story is amazing, the characters are fantastic, the Beatles music at a certain time in the book is fabulous and the ending is incredibly satisfying!! Can’t wait for more!!

Really enjoyed the first book to this new hockey series! I've read almost all of the Aces series by Ms. Jamieson, and liked them too. The new Wynn series spin-off is off to a great start!
Théo and Lacey are a fun couple from the start. I love their "opposites attract" vibe from the beginning. It was nice to see Théo let loose a little as Lacey makes a bigger presence in his life.
LOTS of backstory in this book on the rest of the Wynn family. I look forward to meeting all of the family members and learning more about their shared histories.
Solid hockey romance. Worth the read!

This is the first book of a new Hockey Dinasty series. Theo and Lacey's story was so fun, light, sexy and funny. I kept wanting to go on to the next page and the next until all of a sudden I was done. The only drawback to this book is that it is setting up the basis for all the characters to come in this series, so at times you get a little confused with all the names and how they're all related. Overall though I'm loving it, five chilli peppers of hotness! Thanks NetGalley and Loveswept for the ARC.

I loved this book. I loved the characters. Lacey was hard working, smart, loyal, fun, and a joy. She brought joy to Theo who spends his days in a very analytical job in his hockey profession as General manager. Theo had some hang ups but his big hockey family probably has more. This dynasty is going to produce more Kelly Jamieson stories and I look forward to reading them!!

Who doesn’t love family drama, loads of sexual tension, hockey and a romance? If you do, then Play to Win is a book you should check out. This is the first book in the Wynn Hockey series and I am absolutely hooked!
Théo is out celebrating his new job with some buddies when he meets waitress Lacey. There is an instant connection and attraction between the two. He soon realizes that Lacey is in trouble, all thinks to her gambling addicted twin brother, to make matters worse, she has also lost her job and her brothers stolen all her money. Théo is moving back to California and back to all his family, one person he is not looking forward to see his is younger brother, who also happened to steal his girlfriend. To help solve both their problems he suggests that Lacey and him should get married. They are in Vegas after all, what is the worst that could happen?
I loved both Théo and Lacey, they aren’t perfect people, their families are both full of drama (especially Théo’s) but these two are a perfect fit for each other. He is organized, OCD, and hates deviating from his schedule. She is the opposite, she just goes with the flow. Their relationship was able to grow over a span of a few months and it went from a fake marriage to more. Despite all the crazy family drama I have fallen in love with the entire Wynn family and their friends. I can’t wait for the rest of this series.

What a great way to start a new series! This is by far the best book by Kelly Jamieson that I have read, and I have enjoyed several of her Aces Hockey books. Still set in the world of hockey, Play to Win follows Theo Wynn - of the Wynn of hockey dynasty - who is about to start a new job managing his grandfather’s hockey team. The night before leaving the state to start his new job, Theo goes out to celebrate in Vegas with several buddies. While out, Theo encounters Lacey, and something about her pulls him to her. She is having some family troubles, and he can empathize because of his own complicated family history.
Without giving too much away, these two find themselves bonding, and the first 40% or so of the book follows them in almost real-time as they learn about each other and connect. I absolutely LOVED this part of the book, the banter between the characters, and the chemistry you could feel between the two. It’s an awesome start to a new series of standalone books for Jamieson, and I cannot wait to read the next one! I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Kelly Jamieson has become an auto-buy for me and her latest book did not disappoint. I think this might be my favorite series debut of hers, and that’s saying a lot since I loved Marc and Lovey in Major Misconduct.
The start to Theo and Lacey’s relationship is far from traditional and that made me love it even more. Theo is such a likable hero and I found him super relatable. I loved Lacey just as much. She has such a fun personality. Kelly did a great job with making both main characters’ personalities come through.
I whole heartedly recommend this book. I don’t remember the last time I was so excited after a series debut. I am super excited to read about the rest of the Wynns.

Théo didn’t imagine how much his life would change when he attended his farewell night with his friends. One moment he saw Lacey needed him and he felt a surge of protectiveness surge inside him. Lacey knows she needs to escape Las Vegas and jumps at the chance to leave with Théo. He would slowly change and unwind and simply enjoy life. Having that moment to breathe and embrace his new position was the dream he had been seeking all along. Loved this book and the family dynamics you have to wade through with a life preserver.

I love a hockey romance! This book was good- I really loved Theo, and his family was interesting. The romance itself was good, but I just didn’t find myself wanting to devour the series.

Kelly Jamieson surely delivered with “Play To Win” but let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a good sports romance filled with family rivalry? The drama filled lives of Theo and Lacey with their chaotic families, one sibling stealing their brother girlfriend while another pimps them out to repay their debts, left me intrigued and the bombshed attraction between the leads were notable. The relationship started off unorthodox ― meeting at a restaurant, getting fired and then hopping off to a Vega wedding chapel to get married before moving to California to starts their new lives. From the get-go it was obvious that the leads were flaw human beings and just like everyone else in the real world, dealt with the highs and lows of creating a solid foundation in their relationship. Let's also mentioned the relationship developed in a span of a few months, allowing the romance and relationship time to grow. Lacey and Theo were a good mesh together, the premise was solid and the hot-mess of the Wynn family left me wanting more. I seriously can’t wait to read the rest of the Wynn family stories and I look forward to Theo edition when it’s released later on this year.

What’s not to love about hockey, hot players and awkward situations that turn into great love stories. This is the first book in a new hockey series and is fantastic. The characters have you laughing, screaming and swooning. The storyline is addicting and you won’t want to put down your kindle, needing to know how the drama turns out. This is a series I cannot wait to continue. It’s definitely a must for all sports romance fans.

This is Theo and Lacey's book
I'm a big fan of this author. Love all of her sports romance books. So looking forward to the next one.
