Journeying Between the Worlds is an excellent book of shamanic teachings. Whether you are just a curious beginner or an intermediate practitioner there is much to learn within the pages of this book. It is written in a way so that it can be easily understood by individuals of any culture. Through the teachings, exercises, and stories contained within you will be able to connect more with your inner self and the spirit world. I have always been intrigued by the Shamans in Native American culture, and this was the perfect book to satisfy my intrigues. Highly recommended.
I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. Being Native American myself this book drew me in and gave me a window into another of spiritual the Native culture. I enjoying the way the book is laid out and all the exercises and looking at how this works. There is something about this book that just seems to give me a sense of fulfillment. It makes me feel good reading it. I have been using my journal to keep what I am learning and discovering along my own spiritual journey.
With a writing that is so easy to understand and follow, it was a read that I had to do in small steps so that I could digest and try to really understand as I came to it knowing so little before. But now I feel like I know so much more. Exercises that helped understand and connect to the world so much better. That I feel like I have to keep and keep on trying to learn more.
This book was very well written and interesting, but it just wasn't my cup of tea and I lost interest.
This is just the book I needed at this time in my life. Isn't that funny how things turn out? I have been journeying and seeking spirit and animal guides with guidance from my father. I've been thirsty for more knowledge, more experiences with this other world, especially in the challenge of holding balance between the two.
Eagle Skyfire is open with her practices and has lovely exercises for her readers to work through. I feel that she has tapped into the true spirit of teaching the ways while still respecting her path as well as our own.
I hope many others looking for answers are able to find this book and, in it, find themselves.
This was given to me for free in exchange for an honest review.
I knew quite a bit about journeying before I read this novel but I did like that the things I knew were expanded upon and given to me in more detail. I loved learning all about shamanic teachings. My great-grandmother was a Native American and died long before I could learn more from her so I suck up things like this because it makes me feel closer to her. I love learning anything about Native culture and their religion. That was the main reason I wanted this book and it didn't disappoint. Even if you plan to never put any of this into practice, you will still learn a lot and even from the viewpoint of different Native traditions.
The writing is nice, gives details without feeling like it's just listing things to do. I loved the little stories she gave beforehand of her own experiences even when she failed sometimes and had to work harder. I like that because journeying can be hard to get started and even to keep it up so I liked those added parts.
Overall, this is a great book for beginners and even if you already know a wee bit as I did. You'll still learn something new, I promise. It's worth it!
I really enjoyed reading Journeying Between the Worlds. To be honest, I read this book to earn about the Native American Shamanic Teaching and not to practice. While there were a few exercises that will be helpful to me, I can not with a good conscious practice and practice correctly. But that does not stop me from learning! That being said, I can't review this a how to book. But I can review it based on what it that me and it threw a lot at me. I learned so much about connecting with yourself as well as connecting with the spirit world. I learned all about instruments and tools and how they functioned in the rituals. Coming out of the book, I truly have an appreciation for the spiritual material in the book even though I don't practice myself.
I am so glad to have an inside look and truly understand the practice of certain Native American groups.
Though a glitch in download made this practically unreadable...I really really wanted to read it. So after originally saying I wouldn't review it, I tried again.
The exercises were wonderful and effective and I liked being led through the shamanistic worlds. This book was what I hoped it would be. I will be happy to practice the steps as often as I can to deepen my practice.
Sorry for my possible English mistakes.
This is one excellent book. Explanations are very clear. If you have some problem, some wish you want to make true or you want more insight into life, spirituality or sim...maybe you can try techniques presented in this glorious book. And for the answers you will travel to famous three shamanistic worlds of Native American Indians. You will make contact with seven sacred Guardians of Medicine Wheel with caring guidance from your own Guardian Spirit. How to to these things and call these important beings to find solutions is lucidly explored. And I must say that this author is learned her lesson in order that is better to teach than preach. Enjoy in reading...
This is an extensive book covering many aspects of journeying. I liked the authors writing style and found the book easy to read. I particularly liked the breathing exercises at the beginning because of their simplicity and effectiveness. There is lots of information on journeying to the different worlds, finding your power animals, and working with ancestors and spirit guides. The author has lots of experience and advice to give. The only thing I thought could have done with more detail was beginning a journey and to actually get started from a portal or place. Overall a great book - Thank You
