I received a digital advanced copy of this book from NetGalley.com and the publisher WaterBrook & Multnomah.

The authors have assembled a collection of devotions and prayers based on the Lord's Prayer. While doctrinally unsound, the prayers, illustrations and the anecdotes from the authors make praying easy. Unfortunately, they simplify the act of prayer and do not touch on when prayer becomes uncomfortable. Sometimes talking to God isn't easy or comfortable.

May It Be So is an adequate introduction for anyone unfamiliar with daily devotions and prayer.

3 out of 5 stars.

Thank you, NetGalley for an advance copy of the book for a review.
This book is similar to Justin McRoberts and Scott Erickson's first collaboration. I am certain it will be in the Bible study book review at church. I will have to have the hard copy for reviewing and sharing.

I just zipped through my advance copy of May It Be So, and now I need to go back and read it slowly, savoring the rich artwork and pondering the guided prayers. This is a wonderful little book that would be a great devotional guide through Lent, or pretty much anytime! I love the multi modal approach- art, prayer, meditation and application. The format is short enough to be user friendly for small groups, but the content is rich enough to inspire and inform.
This is not my first book from these authors, and I have happily added them to my favorites list. Their style suits me, their material inspires me. I am so very happy and grateful to NetGalley, the authors and publisher for an advance copy.

This is the kind of book that you can read each year for the purpose of deepening your reflection and thoughts on the topic of prayer, specifically the Lord’s Prayer. If you read this book just for ‘information’ you’ll gain some value from it, but to really benefit from it you need to take the time to reflect on each day’s prayer, and each week’s reflection on the Lord’s prayer. I suspect if you did that, and you did it multiple times, you would find yourself discovering new insights each time you read through the book.

As a pastor I’ve read theological books on the Lord’s Prayer and I understand the theology of it fairly well. This book isn’t devoid of theology, but it thrives at helping you to reflect personally and engage in your relationship with the one true God. An example is at the start of their reflection on the Lord’s Prayer. They reflect on the word Our and I found myself engaged in tangents and insights that were meaningful to me. I value the guidance this book provides.

I also value the short prayers they offer each day. These can be simply read, but like the rest of the book, when you take the time to reflect on them, to digest them, and to engage with them you can find there is much value for your prayer and spiritual life that pours over into your everyday life as you live it.

The value of the book will be in how you read it, and whether you take the time to reflect on it and allow God to work through it and speak into your life – challenging and encouraging you in your relationship with Him.

I was drawn to this book because I have been a fan of Scott Erickson's artwork for many years. His art pairs wonderfully with Justin McRoberts' writing to create a beautiful book. It is comprised of short prayers with thought-provoking accompanying images, interspersed with reflections on the Lord's Prayer. I enjoyed reading this ebook, but cannot wait for the physical book to be released. It is definitely a book to read in its physical form so that you can see the two-page spread of prayer and image concurrently. It is a book you can return to in your daily personal prayers, and I am also looking forward to reading it with my Bible study group.
