If you know a child that is having to move and change schools this is a book you need to share with them. Franny is saying goodbye to all the things she loved and remembered about her school. This book shows small children how they too can say goodbye to people and places that they love. There is a very helpful reader's note at the back of the book for the adults in the child's life to help them use this book.

This was a lovely story about moving schools and saying goodbye. The notes at the end were particularly useful, aimed at the adult to assist the child with transitions.

The illustrations are beautiful and I would use this book with children aged 3-8 years old.

I will be welcoming GOODBYE, SCHOOL into my school library. What a wonderfully illustrated story! Through-out the school year, my site has a lot of students transferring in, out and sometimes back again. Even if a student reading GOODBYE, SCHOOL has never had to leave one school and be a new student at another, my hope it that it'll help them foster empathy for those new students. And for those new students, my hope it that they'll be able to relate to Franny and find comfort.

I teach students who are navigating the difficult waters of transition from kindergarten to first grade and this was a wholesome, well illustrated, and perfectly accurate account of the process. Great work!

A beautifully drawn story of a little girl, Franny trying to say goodbye to her school. Franny is trying to let go of the things and people she loved at this school before moving to a new one. A wonderful book to help children cope with change, show them how to say goodbye to things they love. There is a really good section from the author at the end to help parents with children coping with change. A great book for children and parents to learn together.

Dr. Lippert's story about Franny saying goodbye to her old school and classroom is spot on for how many kids feel when they have to change schools. Readers who have moved around, or will be moving, immediately connect with Franny. Bishop's illustrations are very cute and fit the story perfectly.

This is another entry in the excellent series of books published by the American Psychological Association. Goodbye, School is about Franny who is leaving her school. The reader does not know why but assumes that she is most likely moving. In any event, the reason matters less than the process.

This story is about the importance of saying goodbye, not being whisked away. Even with sadness, the ritual is important. The reader watches as Franny revisits her classroom, sees her teacher and spends time outside. She says her final goodbye when she is ready.

As always, there is a helpful section for caregivers at the end of the book.
