I love everything that this author writes and this was an awesome third book. You don't HAVE to read all the books in the series but I would urge you too because you'll see the characters in this book that are in the first two. I loved the main characters in this and I'm so glad Grady got a book. I loved Emery. She was tough but endearing. This is a book that'll make you want to read the others if you haven't so go ahead and get to reading!!

5 Stars!!

This book was just as good (maybe even a slight bit better than the first 3 in the series. I loved this version of Grady and made you understand alittle bit on why we was the way he was in the previous book. I really enjoyed the closeness and immediate bond they shared from when they were kids. It was friendship then and blossomed into something more. The author wrote it perfectly.

I loved Emery and Jordan’s chemistry. Their banter was great, if only it was about Alabama football. Lol. Still enjoyed the book and would definitely recommend it.

If you've read any of the previous For You books, you've met Grady. And like me, you probably dislike(d) Grady. For Emery is finally Grady's story. Find out WHY he is the jerk he is and find out who he REALLY is. There is real pain here...for both Emery and for Grady. J. Nathan delves into a subject matter with this story that is all too real and prevalent in our world and she does it with grace despite how difficult it may be. In the end...did I love Grady? or do I still dislike him? Find out for yourselves!

I received For Emery by J. Nathan as an arc from NetGalley. This was the first book by J. Nathan that I have read. It was the 4th in the For You series but not necessary to read in order. I loved Emery and Grady and seeing the progress of their relationship. Having not read the other books, I didn't have the background of Grady's behavior. I will definitely be reading the other books in this series!

Emery and Grady were childhood friends and neighbors and Grady was a sort of safe space for Emery as her stepfather was abusive to her mother. One day Emery and her mother are gone without a trace and it changes Grady - he doesn't understand how she could leave without a goodbye and it effects the way he views relationships. Emery and Grady are reunited when she attends the same college that Grady had always dreamed of going to. Grady wasn't going to let her go again.

This book was provided by the author through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you J. Nathan and Netgalley!

For Emery is the fourth book in the For You series and tells the story of Emery and Grady. Even though this is the fourth book in the series, For Emery can be read as a standalone.

For Emery is the first book I’ve read by J. Nathan and I really liked it. When I read the synopsis of this book, I was really intrigued by the story and the characters. I wanted to know why Emery was running away and whether Emery and Grady could be a couple or not.

I really liked reading For Emery because J. Nathan has an enjoyable writing style and the book was really fast paced. I loved the characters, Emery and Grady because they had a special bond when they were younger and everything changed when Emery ran away with mum. Now that they’re studying at the same university, everything changes for them.

For Emery was a beautiful New Adult/Romance book about finding true love while overcoming certain problems/issues. I really liked this book and I cannot wait to read the other books in the For You series!

For Emery, Just WOW!
This is my first time reading anything penned by J. Nathan & call me surprised and amazed because this book literally is just that, amazing! I had procrastinated reading For Emery & I can honestly say that was a mistake because this book was so phenomenal, I should have read it as soon as it was added to my Kindle library. Emery Pruitt was 8 & Jordan Grady was 11 that first night she snuck in his window & found safety, and home, in his arms. That was the night a friendship of a lifetime was born & even though neither realized it at the time, that was the night they each became 'The One' for each other. Night after night she found solace from her parents fights & her abusive stepdad in Jordan's arms. Until that fateful night when Jordan was 17 after they shared their fantastic first kiss, & only later Emery learned of her mom's plans to finally escape Wayne, Emery's violent stepdad. Escaping under the cover of night was the only way & Emery wasn't even allowed to contact Jordan for fear that Wayne would locate them. So Jordan was left to wonder what happened and why Emery never told him she was leaving. After that night, he had everyone call him Grady, and he quickly corrected anyone who referred to him as Jordan, because there was only 2 people he allowed to call him Jordan, 2 people that know the real him ..... his mom & Emery. Tormented, confused, miserable for four long years, Jordan / Grady pushed people away especially with his attitude. That is until that one night in college at a party he'd thrown, when he gazed across a room to the group that just arrived at the party, his eyes met familiar eyes, her eyes, Emery!? Could it really her, Emery? After all, he had been drinking alot. What was she doing at his college? his party? his house? Did she come to find him? Definitely recommend one-clicking this fantastic full length book, For Emery. Although For Emery is book 4 in the For You Series, I did read it as a standalone. J. Nathan does a terrific job on the abusive relationship parts of the storyline, although it may be a trigger for some readers. However, after reading this one, I purchased and ram reading all the other books in the For You Series by J. Nathan, because yes, For Emery is that fantastic!
I did receive a review copy from the publisher via NetGalley, and am voluntarily leaving my own opinion with this voluntary review.

I expected this book to be an easy, quick read. What I wasn't counting on, was how quickly I was sucked into the book and couldn't put it down. You immediately become attached to Emery and Jordan both. The author does an excellent job of putting you right into their world.

Omg!!!!! I was so in love immediately. Emery is such a sweetheart who has a hard life. And Grady is a dreamboat with such a compassionate heart. I really think I sobbed when she had to leave!

Being a survivor of abuse, I have to say it really messes with you for years and the fact that she came out of it as strong as she did, is so making. And cudos to her mom too! I mean wow!

One thing I rea,lly enjoyed is how it fulfilled their story not only together but career wise. I really hate when books are just like “here they are together.” This book gives usnthatngl8mpse 8nto the future that we deserve. The author has such great details 8nvolved 8n this book you d9nt feel l8ke anything was left unsaid.

I voluntarily received this copy from Netgalley for an honest review!

I received an arc for an honest review. I will be honest I passed this book a few times while looking for new arcs, but I am glad I decided to try for this book. This is a book about best friends to strangers to finding each other again. This is my first J. Nathan book and I really enjoyed it. Emery and Jordan used to be next door neighbors and best friends until high school when Emery had to leave an abusive home. I like that the story starts off showing their childhood so you understand their bond when they meet again in college. I like that this book was told in dual p.o.v because I think it would have lacked emotions and depth if we didn't understand what Emery and Jordan were both feeling throughout this book. This story deals with a tough topic, but the author wrote it in a way that didn't make it too much. This was a complicated story to tell, but I think the author did a great job telling it and I will be checking out more of their books in the future.

REALL REALLY sweet book! This is exactly what I enjoy in a book. A great heroine that isn’t Whitney overly dramatic, and alpha male that is also gentle when it comes to the heroine, and a great/well written plot line. Well done J. Nathan!

For Emery

He's everything you want in the boy next door. He's every dream. He's every teenaged hormone inducing wish you could ever have. Their friend was perfect but then she was gone.

Years later, they aren't the same. Nothing is really. Both struggle with the past and the present in their own ways. But everything he does is For Emery, and hopefully it's enough.

Sweet and all kinds of swoony, For Emery is soul boosting. It gives you the happy and an encouraging ending too!

I loved how this book starts out with the sweet story of how Emery and Jordan create a special and strong bond.

Emery was a character you love for her circumstances and vulnerability. Your heart breaks for these two when they are torn apart- for Emery and her mother and then Jordan and his new path.

College and reunited! Drama, naughtiness, danger, and sweet love.

Whenever I've read one of J. Nathan's books I've always enjoyed it. I see her as including just enough angst without being too overwhelming which is just the right combination for me.

For Emery is a story about the ultimate kind of friendship that's forged from the earliest and most influential years in a young child's life. Grady first meets Emery when her family moves in next door. Unfortunately, Emery's family life is a mess and she finds solace in hanging out in Grady's bedroom. He makes her feel safe and protected, and maybe it's hero worship that makes her declare that they'll be boyfriend and girlfriend, and even marry one day. Grady doesn't take her too seriously as far as that's concerned since she's a few years younger than him, but it doesn't change how deeply he cares about her and wishes he could fix everything for her. She disappears from his life abruptly and doesn't hear from her again until she shows up at as a freshman at college where he's a star on the football team. Seeing her again is a complete shock and brings up many years worth of pent up bitterness. Still, he's not letting her out of his sight. Now they just have to learn how to become friends all over again.

Be warned that this story involves domestic violence and Grady has some anger issues as well. Grady's behaviour feels a bit off to me only because the Grady in the younger years is extremely kind and protective, whereas the college-age Grady can be a jerk. It is inferred that Emery's disappearance is the cause of the shift in his attitude but I felt still felt as if I was missing something there.

This was an engaging but tough read because of the subject matter, and it's hard not to be overcome by some of the details. They're not terribly graphic, it's more the fear that Emery has lived with for so long and how she must be careful to protect herself. The upside is that two people who thought they'd lost the most meaningful connection to another person they've ever had, find each other again. And it's no an exaggeration to say that their friendship is a lifesaver. J. Nathan tells a good story and I recommend this one if you're up for it.

What a great read this was! This was by far the best book I have read by this author, and I love all her books! It was wonderfully angsty and naughty too, just what I’ve come to expect and love from Ms. Nathan. Straight to my favorites shelf! Well done!

This is book 4 in the For You series and it features Emery Pruitt and Jordan Grady. Wow! This story is full of those deep-seated emotions that have to do with living in an abusive home. It also has to do with a friendship and love so deep it brings tears to your eyes to watch it. And that’s what it felt like when I was reading, that I was watching it. It’s those moments that are so profound that make you cry those happy tears.

BRAVO J. Nathan! Thank you for writing such an amazing story. I loved EVERY minute of reading it. Fabulous, emotional story line with a great cast of characters. This is my first book by this author and I NEED to read the first three in the series now. If I don’t, I feel as if I’m missing out.

First, I have to mention that For Emery by J. Nathan was kindly provided by author via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review. So I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

For Emery by J. Nathan was a sweet and wonderful new adult second chance friends-to-lovers sports romance.

What else can I say? I loved it. I enjoyed it. It was entertaining. This story did look at some important themes, like domestic abuse, which made it deeper and more relevant. I liked Emery and Jordan, even though there were a couple of times when I wanted to shake them a bit. I liked them together because they were such a cute couple. This was an emotional story that made me cry and smile, I cared for these characters and was rooting for their HEA. This was a beautiful romance story without too much OW and OM drama, which is something that I always appreciate.

Overall I can say that this was a solid 4 star read, and I'll be checking out J. Nathan other books.

I recommend this book to everyone who is looking for a sweet friends-to-lovers romance, or an emotional second chance romance, or a cute sports romance or just a good NA contemporary romance.

For Emery is a fourth instalment in J Nathan’s For You series, and can be read as a standalone. This book checked all my boxes prior to reading: College setting, check. New adult romance, check. Friends to lovers, check. Vanishing then returning love interest, double check. HEA, CHECK!

For Emery touches on difficult topics that may be triggering for some, but the author weaves the story in such a way that tugs at your heart and also emphasizes the strength of the characters involved. It’s a beautiful story of how a past filled with pain and heartache can make people stronger and more determined to make a difference.

The story is written in both Emery and Grady’s POVs which throws you right in the middle of their history and journey together, it really helped to be able to see both sides of the story and also made you cheer and cry everytime something good or bad happened.

I was lucky enough to receive a copy of For Emery from J. Nathan, and I was so surprised! I had never read anything from J Nathan before this, and I’ll admit that I may have added the rest of the books in this series to my shopping cart right after tabbing out of the ebook. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book, J Nathan – This book was everything I needed in a swoon-worthy romance and I look forward to binge reading the rest of your books.
