I enjoyed this book and read it quickly. The book begins as Sam, an old man, sails North and reminisces about his life. As he sails his life and lost love is told in flashbacks. The story is good and I enjoyed the setting and the characters. The author does a good job with southern setting and the sailing background. There were however some editing problems. The book opens with stating that Sam is 95 years old and then flashbacks to 1989 when he was 18 which means the book takes place in the year 2066 but I never felt like the book was told in the future. There were also some other plot holes and inconsistencies that did interrupt the story for me as I went back to see what happened. Otherwise it was an enjoyable story. Enjoy
