I really enjoyed reading this book. The author retraces John Lawson's 1709 Voyage through the Carolinas by foot and canoe. I liked the way author combined his voyage with the historical voyage. I was not familiar with Lawson and it was interesting to read about his journey, his book and his life. As the author travels along the same route you are reminded of how despite everything not much has really changed. The book is very well written and easy to read. There were many parts that had me laughing out loud. Enjoy armchair journey through the historical and present day South.
