I loved this book from the very beginning! It is full of fun, cute dialog, and wonderful images.
Cadie is a fun character to meet and get to know through this book, however, she does have a bit of a problem . . . she has a hard time valuing herself worth. I think many of us can identify with her. She also just wants to be loved and cherished for who she is.
Will is the clueless guy who she has a relationship with. They say all the right things at first, but as time goes on things just seem to dull. Can they work it out, or will things finally end?
Bethany Turner is a fantastic author who brings lots of life to each of her characters. Even the secondary characters will make you laugh and shake your head. This book is full of humor, drama, and awkward, as well as, sweet romance. It will make you laugh out loud. I found myself having to try and be quiet while reading it late at night, so I wouldn't wake my husband. There are also many tender moments between Cadie and Will. This book has many of God's truths in it, but it's not preachy.
I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend others to pick it up.
I was given this book by the publisher and NetGalley for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
This is a far cry from your typical boy meets girl, crisis occurs, resolution and happily ever after tale. Cadie and Will are already a couple but are not on the same page. This book is a lesson on how important communication is and how misunderstandings can damage a relationship.
Bethany has once again written an out of the ordinary story with an edge to it. The spiritual messages of asking forgiveness, forgiving yourself, forgiving others and being able to move past the mistake resound throughout the book.
I truly enjoyed this book and would recommend it.
I received a complimentary copy from Revell through NetGalley. All opinions are entirely my own.
I'm really loving this author. I loved these characters. They're flawed and they fail and their struggles to deal with the fallout from that failure felt refreshingly real. Having said that, the parental characters felt inconsistent and I'm kind of over the 80's romance bit. But I loved the secondary characters and all of the sports references even though I hate sports. Overall a really solid win from the author of The Secret Life of Sarah Hollenbeck.
Confession: I unintentionally read this book in one day and completely loved it!
Bethany Turner is truly becoming a writer to watch out for in the rom-com genre. She had me laughing in the silliest of scenes, and had me cheering for Cadie and Will the ENTIRE book! Even through heartache, hurt, disappointment and confusion. And there's more than a handful of that. But to every setback, they'll discover there is hope if forgiveness is given and fought for with love.
What's special about Turner's book is that her comedy never borders on ridiculous. I can only describe her writing as raw and vulnerable. Honestly portraying our flaws and how we can hurt each other so easily, but also, showing that there is something more powerful than our brokenness that holds us together.
Chick flicks, misunderstandings, a stubborn heroine and a fairly clueless hero trying to figure her out. What's not to love? The Queen of Christian RomCom has done it again with this latest release. I'll admit, it took me a little while to love Will. And Cadie. For a good while, I wanted to knock their heads together. But with every twist and turn and loop-de-loop of the story, I loved them both a little more. And trust me, there's a lot of that going on.
Unpredictable and yet always pointing toward solid spiritual truth, with characters who make mistakes and face the consequences. That's my kind of book right there!
Oh, my word, this is one of my all-time favorite reads of the year! Bethany Turner has taken every single romantic moment from every single romantic movie, meshed it with realistic, real life relationships, and added faith in God and His forgiveness...
...and created a story that will have you grinning, laughing, and crying...sometimes within the same sentence! I absolutely adore Cadie and Will. I love their backstory, their supporting cast, and the honest look at what it means to honor God in everything...even love.
Fair warning: there comes a moment when something happens that may have your eyebrows up and your mouth turned down. Press on. It's SO worth it! I'm fact, this is one novel I wish every woman would read.
I plan on reading it again and again.
Wooing Cadie McCaffrey is a humorous and refreshing novel - it’s also a lesson in miscommunication and how to complicate a relationship by NOT TALKING! So if you like rom-coms, epic romantic moments or enjoy reading a book from between your fingers due to agony from misunderstandings, then this is the book for you.
Cadie McCaffrey has been waiting for her boyfriend, Will, to propose for years. Every time she thinks he has finally decided to get down on bended knee, she is tragically disappointed. When another misunderstanding leads Will and Cadie to take their physical relationship further than either of them planned, Cadie decides it’s time to break up from Will and keep moving on with her life. Will is devastated and is determined to win Cadie back, even if that means he has to sit through dozens of romantic movies and plan romantic moments to woo Cadie into giving them another chance.
Bethany Turner has a refreshing and unique way of pulling a story together. The characters are realistically flawed and their journey with God and others around them is situated smack bang in the middle of realistic life - where mistakes are made. I loved Cadie’s sports ineptitude, especially surrounded by such sports fanatics. I loved Will’s adorkable resolve to win Cadie back.
The beginning was a little confusing and off putting. The middle was bumpy but the end was everything you could want in a romantic, happily ever after that balanced those feel-good, movie-worthy moments with open communication, faith and love.
Wooing Cadie McCaffrey has lots of laughs and moments that every rom-com fan will recognise, touches on deep topics of physical intimacy in relationships and has a fun, lighthearted tone throughout.
The publishers provided an advanced readers copy of this book for reviewing purposes. All opinions are my own.
This was hysterical. I enjoyed myself so much while reading this. It pays homage to literally every single romantic comedy trope. I loved it. It was incredibly cliched, but that was part of the fun. If you are expecting a very serious story, this is not it.
I received a copy of this book in order to facilitate my review. I was not required to leave a positive review. All opinions are my own.
Wow, wow, WOW! I'm speechless, in the best way! This book is beyond amazing! Since finally getting around to reading The Secret Life of Sarah Hollenbeck last year (which I LOVED by the way!) I have been eagerly anticipating Bethany Turner's next book! Needless to say my expectations were sky high, and this amazing book surpassed them all and completely raised the bar to a whole new level! I loved Cadie and Will immediately, by the time I finished the prologue I was already rooting for them with everything in me. I was totally engrossed in their story and I hated to stop reading! This book completely enthralled me from start to finish, it made me laugh aloud so many times, and I couldn't stop smiling while I was reading it! I said it in my review of TSLOSH and the same goes for WOOCAM, Bethany Turner's stories are happiness in book form! I loved every moment of this book so much, and it left me itching to binge watch all the awesome rom-com movies that I haven't yet seen. I could seriously go on gushing forever, but to avoid the risk of spoiling anything I will just say that I absolutely LOVED this book and will definitely be rereading both it and TSLOSH many times in the future! Wooing Cadie McCaffrey is definitely a MUST READ for all fans of Christian rom-com!
Oh, and just in case you haven't already guessed I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it and am excitedly awaiting this author's 2020 release!
I received an ebook copy of this book from the publisher which did not influence my review in any way. All thoughts and opinions are one hundred percent my own.
Super cute plot that you would see in a rom com on the Hallmark Channel and I enjoyed it a lot! I loved all the references to other romantic comedies. I felt that the characters were believable and the dialogues were easy going with the right amount of humor.
One thing that I didn’t realize was that it’s a Christian publishing company so certain religious believes are written in the story which not everyone may agree with. Nothing horrible in my opinion but thought it was worth mentioning.
Thank you to Netgalley for giving me a copy of this ARC in exchange for an honest review
I hate it when people don’t talk to each other and their misunderstandings become the plot.
This is a Christian romance and the couple get excited one night after four years together and have sex and then beat themselves up about it did the entire rest of the book. Also the man wants to propose to the woman but doesn’t BECAUSE HER PARENTS SAID NO. In 2019.
Also, the God stuff seemed shoehorned in. There’s literally no evidence of a spiritual life unless one of the characters is feeling shame.
I received this book as a digital arc from netgalley and no I didn’t know it was a Christian romance when I requested it.
I discovered this book through Netgalley UK and I was in the midst of requesting just one book because most readers know and understand the struggle over requesting. Because how could we not? Its too tempting! But anyways, I was first drawn into the cover of the beautiful shade of pink, the illustrations and especially the font of the title. Then I clicked on the book to find out what it was about and I only knew one thing after that—I had to request and read it. It sounds way too good to pass on.
Then, soon enough my request was granted and I immediately read the book. This book was honestly everything and perhaps even so much more than that. I couldn't resist the humour in it as it was genuinely funny and the romance was just beyond ordinary. There is nothing that I can find to be a flaw and pin point it out. This book was just way too good that I wanted to find out how it ends yet unable to finish it because I got too sucked into Cadie and Will's love story.
When I read the lines in the summary of the guy actually doing all the gestures to win the girl back, to woo her into fighting for their relationship, I just love it too much. Its not exactly a wrong angle to tackle a love story because yes, overtime some people fall out of love with the one they thought they used to love. It sucks but that is the reality.
I just wanted to shout into the void and hope that Cadie could get my message that Will is really crazy for her. Like all his great and love gestures were prove of that. But when I got to why exactly he had to act the way he did every time Cadie tried to approach the topic of marriage. I was both grateful and frustrated for them because it really is a true indication of how deep their love runs.
Really, I cannot recommend everyone this book enough. It would be the perfect romcom to be adapted because it has everything. Its perfect as it is. Actually, scratch that and let's just let it remain as a book because its already so perfect as it is.
3.5 stars
I got exactly what I was hoping for when starting reading this book, a fun and extremely enjoyable rom-com that made me swoon.
Admirably, I was quite frustrated with the couple in this book because, of course, they couldn't just talk with each other and solve their problems. But then again, would we really have anything worth reading if they did actually sit down and talk?
It had a very cute romance though and I lived seeing Cadie and Will fight for their love!
This is my second book that I have read by Bethany Turner, and I really enjoyed it. She writes great romantic comedies. I am looking forward to more books from Bethany Turner.
This book definitely had a unique way of telling its story. If you are a fan of Hallmark movies, you'll enjoy this. I really bonded with the characters, Will and Cadie, and was rooting Will on throughout the book. Would recommend!
I really enjoy Bethany Turner’s books. She isn’t afraid to write about hard things yet she does it with compassion and humor. I appreciated the wisdom that various characters brought to help Cadie grow and learn from her situation.
I LOVED the scene when Cadie met Will. I saw him clearly in my mind played by Chris Carmack (Linc from Grey’s Anatomy). The opening gave such insight into his personality that it was easy to imagine he’d do everything he did later to try to win Cadie back. I loved the way he researched romantic comedies for insight. The results were hilarious and it was great fun reliving scenes from so many movies.
Cadie was interesting to me, too. She works at the American Sports Network and knows nothing about sports….literally nothing. She won me over by not taking herself too seriously in the opening scene. I’m sure I’ll think of this scene whenever I see black frosting.
This was a delightful, well-written book. I’d recommend it….especially to anyone who likes romantic comedies. It’s a fun read. Thank you to Revell for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
