Three words: dancing football player! That made me want to read this book, and I am so glad I did.
Stone and Lily had me laughing, crying, and yelling at them throughout the whole book. The football player and the straight A student has always been one of my favorite story arcs. Add salsa dancing and a cast of supporting characters you just have to love, and there was no way this book can be less than 5 stars!
I am hoping there are more books with these wonderful characters. I need to see what happens with Stone, Lily, Sydney, Angela, Chase, and Aidan. There is so much of the story to still be told about these characters.

This book contains cursing including a bunch of f-bombs. There's no sex, but there is both casual underage sex (nothing graphic) and drinking by side characters. Basically these high school kids act in all of the ways that all parents pray their own kids won't.

The story in this book was really, really good. I liked how strong Lily was, and the kind of man that Stone was. Lily was a bit neurotic, but her reasonings were sound, and she wasn't obnoxious about her perfectionist bent, she was just driven. Watching her learn how to loosen up was really great. Her relationship with her dad brought on more than a few watery-eyed moments for me. Stone was an incredible guy, but not in the “he's too perfect to be real” kind of way, instead he was the kind of guy who was perfectly imperfect. He loved his family more than anything, and he wasn't ashamed of that, something that makes him swoon-worthy in my book, but he was also insecure and had a lot of weight on his shoulders. The way that he organically fell for Lily even though their paths crossed under less than ideal circumstances was so sweet. Despite the fact that they were both flawed, I found myself rooting for them from the very start.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a sweet love story between two young people.

The Quick Cut: A girl who spends far too much time studying gets stuck with dance lessons. A popular boy is paid by the girl's dad to ensure she keeps taking them. Chaos follows when emotipns get in the way.

A Real Review:
Thank you to Entangled Publishing for providing the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Dancing follows music in culture naturally everywhere we go, but its not often we see it happening in a ballroom. Ballroom dancing isn't as popular as it used to be, becoming more of a pastime for those of the older variety. So what happens when you combine dance lessons with two young teens? Let's find out...

Lily Cooper has a goal to go to Harvard and she has spent her life anxiously gripping it for dear life. Unfortunately, the anxiety she puts on herself is so overwhelming she's literally coughing up blood. Her father agrees to let her keep her current AP classes and heavy workload for one concession: her Saturdays are study free with dance lessons included. Its here that she unexpectedly runs into Stone Torres and they're made dance partners. Twist story plot point: Lily's dad pays off Stone to stay her partner (& ensure Lily keeps dancing).

I really wanted to like this book and for the first couple chapters, it was a capturing story. Lily's anxiety and self-pressure to be perfect really resonated with me. The problem is that after their first dance lesson, the story falls flat and loses its direction. That initial spark that existed between Lily & Stone gets snuffed out by the meandering plot and directionless conversation points. Truthfully, I was disappointed by this book after where it started.

With a strong start, this book instead faceplants with too little dancing and a waste of chemistry.

My rating: 3 out of 5

Lily and Stone are in completely different circles at school, she has only one good friend Sidney and she spends all her efforts to become a valedictorian, while Stone is a sports star at their school. But even though Lily has completely no interest in dancing her dad makes her attend dancing classes where she spends a lot of time with Stone. Everything would be picture perfect if not the fact that Lily's dad paid Stone to keep Lily interested in dancing. Will true love survive when the Stone - dad deal comes up? It's for you to find out!

Unfortunately I can't recommend this book, it's incredibly predictable, not much is happening there while the book in itself is really long. Don't count on humour or swoony moments because the book lacks it terribly.

Thank you net galley for the advance reader copy of this novel. I enjoyed this contemporary romance about a girl with panic stress issues falling for the school QB hunk. I loved the secondary characters, Chase and Angela and hope we see a second book where they finally get together. I appreciated that this book did not have sex between Lily and Stone the main characters. Thank you for keeping this a real but clean romance. There were a few usual teen book cliches in this novel....family member with cancer, nerd falling for the home coming king etc. Overall I was pleased and hope for a book 2.

This book was very cute but also pretty predictable as far as plot.. Lily is a super student trying to get into Harvard EA which is a challenge. She studies all the time. She gets sick and her dad decides she needs to take up a leisure activity and signs her up for dance lessons. At the dance school, Lily sees Stone, the QB from her high school--he's is super popular, good-looking and well liked. Stone's parents own the dance studio and Lily dances with him at her first lesson. Lily's dad sees the chemistry between them and pays Stone to keep Lily in dance lessons and be her partner while she learns. Stone accepts and as they dance more they become friends and start hanging out. Stone really likes Lily because she is different and she challenges him, Lily starts to confide in Stone about all her issues with losing her mom to cancer and becoming sick from stress etc and she also becomes friends with his twin sister. They start to date which is very sweet. Unfortunately the story ends up being pretty predictable with Stone's meddling ex and other the money Lily's dad gave him initially before she got to know him. Cute quick read.

Eyes on Me is a cute contemporary with lots of heart. It's about more than just a boy and girl finding each other. It's about love, loss, and grief. There was lots of friendship in this book too. Lily was 'the smart girl'. The one with her sights set on being valedictorian and going to Harvard. Stone is your typical charming star quarter back. However, these characters had more depth and heart than I was expecting. I really loved their chemistry. my only problem with story was it was slow, it's only a little over 300 pages but the beginning of this book took forever to get going. Once it got interesting I really enjoyed the story.

Eyes on Me is a captivating tale that makes my heart happy! I adored every minute of this book and did not want to put it down!

This book could have been cliché, but I found it to be a fresh take on the nerd and football player relationship. I think that the main reason that I enjoyed this book so much is because the characters are so relatable and were written so well.

Lily Bailey is an uncoordinated nerd that has stressed herself out to the point that she was physically ill. Now she is forced into the worst hobby for a klutz: salsa dance lessons.

Agoston “Stone” Torres is one of my new favorite characters. Although he is the star football player in the small-town, there is a lot more to him. He would do anything for his family, especially his twin sister, mother, and the family’s dance studio.

Lily and Stone think that they are completely different, but as they grow closer, they realize that they have a lot in common. My favorite thing about this book is the fact that Lily and Stone help each other grow. I highly recommend this read!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you Netgalley and Entangled: Teen for giving me the chance to read and review this book early!

I can't thank NetGalley and Entangled Publishing enough. The book is amazing! This book is the first I've read by this author.. and wow. I thought this YA book would be too tame but no, it's wonderful. Truly perfect. It is the high school experience every girl wishes they'd had.
The excellent writing and plot, as well as the lovable characters you want to embrace in a bear hug, make it extremely difficult to put down. The 'it' boy who loves his family and knows how to dance, and a smart girl who needs to remember what life is all about... what a great combination.
The zombie-like state you get into after finishing a great book? That's me now. In fact, I went and immediately bought another book by this author.
