Colette Vanderpool-Vane is a wealthy heiress, she comes up with some crazy ideas and her latest one is to open an art museum. Her parents want her to grow up and be more mature and they decide she should take their place on secret mission traveling by train from Denver to Kansas.
Jakob Gunderson has been unlucky in love and his mail-order bride married his brother Isaak. He’s hired to protect a group of young women rescued from the streets of Helena and his job is to make sure they arrive safely at the female academy in Kansas.
He’s stunned when he meets the girls chaperone, the women of his dreams and he’s doesn’t want to the train trip to end. Jakob and Colette are using false names, her real name isn’t the only thing Jakob doesn’t know about the woman he’s fallen in love with and will he have his heart broken again?
I received a copy of Anywhere with You by Gina Welborn/Becca Whitham from NetGalley and Kensington Books in exchange for an honest review. The fifth book in the Montana Bride Romance Series, a sweet western romance, I liked the use of quotes by Jane Austen at the start of each chapter, and three stars from me.
Anywhere with You is a sweet novella that made for great afternoon reading.
Although it's the last book in a series I haven't read, I didn't feel as if I were missing out on any important information or details. The main characters were both endearing, and I appreciated their struggles.
I did, at times feel as though some suspense was hinted at, but it never came to fruition. It could easily have been adapted into a great full-length historical suspense. I do understand why the authors chose to keep it as a simple romance novella, though.
I'd recommend this book to fans of historical romances, and sweet romance novellas.
(I received a copy of this book though NetGalley. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.)
A well written historical romance. Enjoyed the plot and the setting. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my ARC. This is my unbiased review.
I loved the idea behing this story!
The first thing that drew me in was the cover and then I read the discription and was very excited.
However, this story did not live up to it's potential. Which I am sad about, I really excpected more. There were places that felt like there were missing pages, emotions that didn't really seem to fit the situation. Also usually you see a gradual growing of the characters thoughout the book amd that was not the case here. The main character was just as immature as when the story began.
Overal the storylime could be great but it definitely missed the mark in my book.
I volunteered to read this book in return for my honest feed back. The thoughts and opinions expressed within are my own.
A very pleasant read set in 1888 Colorado. Christian Historical. A Madame in town started a secret plan where she sheltered very young girls who were brought to her to be prostitutes. She hid them away, with another team taking over, then later another taking them a few at a time by train to a school and hopefully good jobs. Since this was not a popular happenstance for the people who originally took the girls to be sold over, this group had to be vigilant so that the girls wouldn't be found. The transportation of the girls was difficult.
Colette and Jacob are two young people with the common trait of being a bit impulsive. They are given the chance to escort three young ladies on this secret and risky last step of the journey. Collette is a generous girl from a wealthy family whose heart is in the right place, but her choices aren't always for the best. Her parents feel this trip will help her to look at life from a different perspective. And it does. Not everything goes as planned on this journey. Jacob goes along on the trip to protect the girls. Both he and Collette learn more about themselves on the trip than they expected, getting close to one another quickly. They make a good team. Interesting twists and turns in this journey keep you turning the pages.

Anywhere with You is a sweet and quick read. I enjoyed it and look forward to more from A Montana Brides Romance series.
Five stars.
Colorado 1888 A heartfelt story of romance found in the least expected situation. Young girls in town have been hidden so they would not have to become prostitues from people who were trying to sell them. There was a network that would take them on a jouney by train to be safe. Can you even imagine? Life was hard during this period, especially for a woman who had to often go through a lot.
Colette and Jacob were brought together to escort some young ladies on this trip and keep them safe. Not too lucky in love, Jacob found her to be very compassionate and the two worked well together.
But Colette was really hiding her identity as a heiress and could these two find happiness?
I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more by this author!
This book is a very quick read, I read it in one evening, and it can be read alone, but there are references to past books, and my feelings for certain characters changed with this book, so I would recommend you read the previous books in this series to fully enjoy the read.
Back with us is Jakob our very unlucky in the romance department young fellow, and we meet a wealthy young woman with a lot of compassion for her fellow man and for animals, Colette.
We are given a glimpse into life back in early America and the Montana Territory, and watch these two try and help these young woman, will they succeed?
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Kensington, and was not required to give a positive review.
Sweet, clean romance. I enjoyed it! It was a cute read about falling in love when you least expect it. Thanks for the free ARC netgalley.
I was grateful to receive a free copy of Anywhere with You in exchange for an honest review. This was a short book, but lacked any substance. Colette and Jakob allegedly fell in love in a week while escorting three teen prostitutes to help escape their old life. There was no character or plot development leading into the girls previous lifestyle. It also felt like the whole story line with Colette's family being involved in saving prostitutes was brought into the story again without any preamble or character development.
This book had a ton of potential for being a great read, but the story fell short. Unfortunately this was not a good read for me.
I’m a sucker for a good romance, and this one certainly did not disappoint! Jakob has been alone since his mail-order bride chose to marry his brother. When he helps out rescuing prostitutes with Letty Pool, his heart soon mends. Letty has been making impetuous choices, and her parents sent her on the rescue mission to learn some responsibility. Together the two grow closer while helping the girls.
I thought the characters were fun and relatable. I especially liked that the journey from prostitution to regular life was portrayed as difficult. I really enjoyed this story.
This is such a good heartwarming story about love and second changes. Come join Colette and Jacob as they find their adventure of a lifetime. Thank you Kensington Books Zebra via NetGalley for the ARC copy of this wonderful book. All opinions expressed are my own.
ANYWHERE WITH YOU by GINA WELBORN and BECCA WHITHAM is the fifth novel in the Montana Brides Romance series, but it can be read as a stand alone. It is an enjoyable read with lovable characters and a good story.
The story starts in Denver Colorado in 1888 with Colette Vanderpool-Vane spending ten days in prison for trespassing. She was trying to cheer her friend Beatrix up after her broken engagement by doing something adventurous.
Colette's parents, in an effort to guide her in life, hoping she will make more sensible choices in future and stop bending the rules, send her on a journey to accompany young girls who have been saved from a life of prostitution. It is a secret venture and one with rules that may not be broken. The person sent to go with her on this journey is Jacob Gunderson, a handsome young man who seems to have a hard time finding a girl to court.
It is a story about love, adventure and second chances.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Kensington Publishing Corp. The opinions in this review are completely my own
