Small beach town setting and a wedding, what could go wrong right? A good entertaining stories, but should read the first one to know all the background.
Jody Holford's Deadly Vows combines mystery and romance in a very cozy way! Molly is settling into her life in Britton Bay quite nicely - she has a job that she loves, a boyfriend who she adores and is quite smitten with her as well, and a growing number of friends. When her landlady hosts a wedding at her B&B and the chef is found dead by mysterious circumstances, Molly must once again search out the clues to discover who committed the dirty deed and restore harmony to the quiet little town. Loved it! A+
Thank you to net galley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read this book it was a great experience
I love this series....Molly and Sam are such good characters and I love the town of Britton Bay! The whodunnit was written really well, with lots of twists and turns, but what makes this book just as good as the first one are the characters, beautifully flawed, with so much depth. I was so thrilled to learn there is going to be a third book....and I hope loads more after that.
This fast moving, entertaining mystery will hook you from the very beginning. It's filled with likeable characters, a delightful small town setting, romance and descriptions of the delicious pastries from Bella's bakery. Newspaper editor Molly Owens has settled in Britton Bay, living in the cottage on the property of the B and B run by her boyfriend Sam's mother, Katherine Alderich. Patricia Lovenly, who grew up in that house and later moved away, has rented out the entire B and B for her daughter Chantal's "wedding of the century". Patty has brought in her own chef for the occasion, Skyler Friessen, who has won a cooking award show. Skyler is less than friendly to all of the town residents but when she is found to have been murdered Molly and her co=horts are quick to try and figure out who the culprit is, to clear their friends and town residents from blame. This was an intriguing mysterywith a well developed plot that kept me guessing all the way through. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it.
