If Tess can just get through the next few weeks with her heart intact, all will be well. The thing with hearts, though, no matter how hard she tries, she can’t seem to turn hers off.
This was a solid book that I enjoyed reading. The characters were well written and the story kept my attention. I recommend.

Exciting! Thrilling! I enjoyed this one. Plot had a few holes but nevertheless a win. A favorite author of mine indeed!

This was 1st novel by this author. When I saw this was sponsored by a favourite author I wanted to give this try and I was not disappointed by this novel. This novel was beautifully written and I swooned a lot during this. I love a good man in uniform book and this delivered what I was looking for.

I enjoyed the writing craft in this book very much. I liked the characters, both main and secondary. I enjoyed the set building and the relationship building. I liked that the relationship took some time to build and that both main characters took the ramifications very seriously. A very strong, solid story.

really liked this book. I was into it from reading the first page. I would recommend this to others. They kept my interest.

The perfect escapist read! An amazing, steamy, emotion and fantastic must read book. Another hit for Lesile North and I just can’t get enough of her books. Plus a new author to look out for too. Totally recommend

But the heated attraction between her and Jed is something they both try to turn off. Along with those feelings there is also a threat to their lives that they will have to deal with.

The Seals Ward is my first book by Katie Ward. The slow building romance between Jed and Tess is sweet. Nala is adorable. Watching both Jed and Tess falling in love with this precious little girl is heartwarming. There is action, danger, mystery, a few twists closer to the end. This is a short suspenseful read with great characters and plot, but there are a few unrealistic behaviors that just threw me a bit off. Over all I give it 4 stars. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and voluntarily chose to leave an honest review.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Jed and Tess) The SEAL’s Ward follows the building relationship between former Navy SEAL Jed Tremayne, and speech therapist/nanny Tess Frederick. Jed Tremayne became a single father upon the death of his best friend Martin Jackson, and his wife leaving eleven year old Nala an orphan and alone. Struggling with emotional and speech issues since the death of her parents, Nala was dropped from her private school forcing Jed to hire a full-time nanny who would double as teacher and friend. Enter Tess Frederick, the woman with whom Jed would fall in love. What ensues is the building relationship between Jed and Tess, and the potential fall-out as the investigation into the accident reveals a potential homicide, with the Jackson’s as the target.

Tess Frederick knows loss including the death of her boyfriend, and the loss of her business and job. Desperate for employment Tess applies to be the nanny to an eleven year old girl who has struggled since the death of her beloved parents. No one was good enough according to Jed but desperate times called for desperate measures when Jed is forced to hire the last woman he interviewed. Starting a new job meant time away from home, time away from Nala, the child who needed him more than he could have known.

The relationship between Tess and Jed is one of immediate attraction but Jed doesn’t do relationships especially with the woman he hired to care for his ward. Tess attraction to Jed was immediate but our heroine struggles in light of a previous loss, and the potential for losing her job. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate but limited; without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The SEAL’s Ward is a story of betrayal, vengeance, power and heart break. The premise is intriguing and engaging; the characters are energetic and dynamic; the romance is seductive. The secondary characters include local police and FBI, as well as several men who work with our leading hero. The requisite evil has many faces. The SEAL’s Ward is a story of loss, love, discovery and heart.

The SEAL's Ward by Katie Knight is the story of Jed Tremayne and Tess Frederick.
Jed only knows the military, hard work and being strong. When his two friends die and leave him to care for their daughter, Nala, he is at a loss. Jed learns that Nala needs help too in school so he is recommend to hire Tess to help them. But Tess brings more to the table than just taking care of Nala...she starts to open up feeling in him. But danger is just around the corner so he is out to protect those he has come to love.
Enjoyed their story.

A great short read! The SEAL's Ward is well worth the read, with engaging characters and a well developed storyline. I enjoyed this one and will definitely be recommending

Emotionally gripping, sweetly sexy, action packed and engaging adventure to find justice and they stumble into a romance that neither one is really looking for.... this journey is filled with danger, intrigue and heart pounding twist that kept me reading from beginning to end.

Absolutely loved this book.
Could not put it down.
I need more from this author !

This book was full of drama, mystery, and romance. Throughout the book, we learn more and more about the "accident" that killed Nala's parents. Pretty much non-stop action as there are numerous attempts to abduct her.

During this time, Tess and Jed grow closer but with each having past hurts, they are reluctant to trust a relationship.

My only complaint in the book is that Jed says he trusts no one but when it comes down to trust, he trusts a person that he does not know well and that is a mistake. Plus, if he is in the security business, it sure seems he should have screened his clients and employees much more carefully than he did.

There is one blaring error that I found in the advanced copy and I hope that it is corrected in the released version - in Chapter 10, Tess tells how her fiance hung himself in his living room but later in Chapter 13, she tells how the cleaning people at his office discovered the body there.

Jed is trying to raise Nala, the 11 year girl of his best friend, after the death of her parents. He hires Tess to be a nanny/teacher, and naturally there are sparks of attraction. The side story of the murder of Nala's parents and the multiple attacks on her seemed odd. When the end is revealed it still seems a bit odd. Not sure why they would come after the girl, and why the bad guy was convinced he had to do what he did. Also, didn't like that Jed was even considering giving her up for adoption, which just seemed strange. Other than these issues though, I enjoyed the book and highly recommend it.

The SEAL's Ward is my second read by Katie Knight and it was fabulous! This story as so much going for it; packed with action, mystery and intrigue, plus the added emotional turmoil created by a hardened former SEAL, falling headlong into love with an orphaned 11 year-old girl. Then you have the unexpected impact of the newly hired nanny/tutor, which creates all kinds of unwanted and undeniable attraction.

While this is only a short story, The SEAL’s Ward still managed to encompass the same level of total immersion that a reader experiences in a 300 plus page book. The characters were interesting, the plot original, and the overall world building and writing style ensured an easy to follow story with plenty of excitement and romance too. I look forward to reading the next Katie Knight story.

A nice romance that built between Jed and Tess. Nala was a sweetheart. Great job hiding who the bad guy was that killed Nala's parents.

Why only 3 stars you ask since it seemed like I enjoyed it? The people who killed Nala's parents and tried to kidnap her two times before succeeding the third time were former Navy SEALs. I don't buy that since every time they tried only Nala and another female were present, but they couldn't succeed. Former SEALs couldn't kidnap a little girl and take care of an untrained female....Nope, not at all realistic even for fiction.
