Books by Christina Lauren are usually automatic download for me. Seeing it available here at NetGalley was a gift!
Follows a popular trope of boy meets girl, offends girl, they hate each other until the don’t...The dialog is believable, often humorous, the love scenes are tantalizing, and the characters are absolutely likable that I cheered for from the start. And the resolution with the twin sister is every dream come true for anyone who has been in the same despicable straits. Brava!
Despite some typos that I am confident will be remedied by publication, it’s a fabulous read. In fact I stayed up till 6 am to finish it. Like all Christina Lauren books, the romance is delicious and I am walking around feeling dreamy, suffering a serious book hangover today. (BTW—not loving that cover. Totally off their brand and does not say romance at all to me. More satire genre.)

Thank you to Netgalley and Gallery books for my free digital copy in exchange for an honest review.
Christina Lauren is back again with another laugh out loud romantic comedy and I couldn’t wait any longer to devour it! One of my favorite tropes is enemies to lovers and this one includes a fake marriage as well. This sounded right up my alley. Unfortunately I found it forgettable. I forgot the names of the characters the next day (probably because there was purposeful name-swapping between the characters) and the story just wasn’t my favorite Christina Lauren. I didn’t feel invested in the characters and their lives. And while it wasn’t my favorite, I still laughed out loud at some of the jokes, really enjoyed the Minnesota references, and would recommend it to other Christina Lauren fans. I’m looking forward to whatever the duo writes next!

The magic is in the voice.
Olive and Ami are twins. Ami is the twin who gets all the luck (Olive’s bad luck stories are hilarious) , and is about to get married. Olive doesn’t really care for her soon-to-be bro-in-law Dane, but hey, he’s who Ami picked, and anyway, that lukewarm feeling is nothing to the black hole of hatred Olive feels for Dane’s handsome, successful elder brother Ethan.
It’s clear from the gitgo that Ami works hard to make her luck—she enters every sweepstakes and contest there is, and so she ends up with a fabulous wedding with a buffet dinner for the zillion guests and only pays a fraction for it.
Unfortunately the prize-winning bridesmaid gowns are a hideous green, which Ethan comments on when he and Olive are forced to meet . . . but that little problem gets shoved by the wayside when, in the middle of Olive’s maid of honor speech, the entire guest list, including bride and groom, get the volcanic two-step.
So who is going on the fabulous honeymoon trip that can’t be postponed or refunded? Ami begs Olive to go; Olive feels too guilty leaving her sister until she finds out that Ethan is going. Is she going to let that villain of doom have all the fun? Noooo!
And so the fun is on, made a whole lot more of a rollercoaster when bosses and exes turn up at the same hotel and the two have to cope, which has unexpected results for them both.
Olive’s family is wonderful. I really like the way the authors developed the brothers, one from a distance over time. Ethan’s errors are subtly indicated in a way I totally bought (without making it an issue, the authors make it clear he’s a bit on the OCD spectrum), and the evolution of the relationship was deftly, humorously, and yet insightfully done.
Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes, but it’s not bulletproof. Some readers love the bicker-then-hate-sex trajectory, which is not my cup of tea. I like what the authors do here, which is so much harder to write, the steps the two take to reach a truce, then understanding, with attraction coming right along. Done with the champagne-sparkling humor and flair their fans, including myself, love so much.

The Unhoneymooners blends snark and sass with romance and reality. I inhaled it in less than a day and as soon as I was done I went back and reread my favorite sections. As a Midwesterner who often gets to trade snow for Hawaiian sand- I loved the setting. Plus- I have no guilt in admitting I love a "Wait- you LIKE me? I thought you couldn't stand me" plot.
I adore Christina Lauren books. They always hit a sweet spot. For me- I relish the sometimes predictable, but never boring story lines Add a little fun and steamy romance and I'm all in!

Actual stars...4.5
Some books need to be read, but this one needs to be devoured.
This is a "read it all at once" kind of book. Don't waste you time putting it down, you are just going to come right back to it in 5 minutes anyway.
This is a perfect beachy, summer read. Light, fun...perfect. A nice mix of likeable and unlikeable characters.

Wow - I read this book in one day and absolutely loved it! Christina Lauren have such a great writing style - I kept on laughing out loud throughout a majority of the book. Immediately you sense the hatred between Ethan and Olive but it’s still so fun to see them interact and watch sparks fly. It's always so fun watching an enemies to lovers trope unfold and Ethan and Olive have so many hurdles thrown at them it made it extra fun!
I loved all of the dynamics of this book: Olive and Ethan turning from enemies to lovers, the huge family that takes care of one another and all of the secondary characters that make these main characters so complex. If you love reading a book that keeps you hooked right until the end, filled with laughs and sweet romance then this is your book!! **Thank you to NetGalley and Gallery Books for this ARC. All opinions are my own**

Another great book from the writing duo Christina Lauren. The vibrant cover pulls you in and the story line keeps you there.

What a wonderful, heartwarming, hilarious novel! I enjoyed every minute of The Unhoneymooners right down to its surprising depth. Olive and Ethan are a perfect imperfect couple, which made them all the more relatable. The Unhoneymooners is chock full of characters I want to hang out with from Olive's quirky family to her one-time boss to Ethan's OCD.
At the heart of this book is an insecure woman who has lost her confidence after years of bad luck. Olive sees life through an "unlucky" filter, convinced that everything that doesn't go her way is the bad luck she was born with, Her default setting is to read each situation that doesn't meet her expectations as negative, including her first meeting with Ethan, her sister's brother-in-law. Years of animosity between the two reinforce this until Olive and Ethan find themselves on their siblings' honeymoon in Maui.
Their "unhoneymoon", just as Olive expected, unfolds with lots of bad luck, including running into the most unlikely people. Forced to pretend they're actually married, Olive and Ethan, after years of hating each other, finally start to see past their animosity, revealing misunderstandings and secrets that took me by surprise. Many of these moments are laugh out loud funny, others heart wrenching. One thing that was for sure? I fell in love with both these characters.
I loved Olive's journey to believing in herself. I loved watching her gain her confidence and stand her ground. I loved watching her take chances to make her own luck, rather than letting life just unfold in front of her. The Unhoneymooners is a book that will invoke laughter AND tears, but most importantly lead the reader to consider whether they're letting life lead them or if they've got the courage to meet it head on.

4.5 STARS. I Thoroughly enjoyed this book from beginning to end. It kept me interested throughout and just simply left me in a good mood. I loved it, as it was perfect reading to get me through the dead of winter, but would be fantastic to have read on the beach as well.

This one was super adorable, fun and I couldn’t put it down! If you love The Hating Game or The Kissing Quotient, this one is for you. I loved Ollie and Ami and their differences despite being twins I loved Ollie’s and Ethan’s live/hate relationship throughout the book. I wish I’d gotten to hear more of Ethan’s inner dialogue, but the epilogue definitely made up for it. I hated Dane and was happy with how he and Ami ended up. I can’t wait to read more of Christina Lauren’s books!

I enjoyed this fun and tropical rom-com, especially how the love story developed after the "unhoneymoon" was over and the couple was confronted with a big test of their relationship. I loved how honest Olive was with herself and with Ethan, and also that she was described as a girl with some curves (though how about a girl with curves who can't quite pull off a bikini but who is also very attractive to her male suitor? just a thought.)
I also thought Olive's family was fabulous — from her put-together twin sister to the chorus of lovingly butting in family members who show up in the best ways when she needed them most.

Thank you Netgalley and Gallery books for the free digital review copy!
Christina Lauren, let me count the ways I love thy rom-coms. There are too many.
Please note that I am a sucker for the following:
1. Hate to Love trope
2. Witty banter
3. Harry Potter references
4. Super fierce body positive protagonist
5. Adorable/nerdy love interest
Okay - this book has all the things I love in a super fun rom com (see list above). If you are a fan of the romance genre, specifically adorable rom coms with awesome dialogue, I cannot recommend Christina and Lauren's books enough. Every time I read a book by them I get all giddy and then proceed to tell all my friends to read their books. I think so far The Unhoneymooner's is a personal favorite.
First of all, I love snarky banter. It's probably one of my favorite things in a rom com - especially when the trope is HTL - and it's done incredibly well here. Second of all, this book is super sexy but not in a way that makes me want to vomit. I love that Christina Lauren can write a sexy romance with plenty of heat without being over-gratuitous about it (that might be for some people, but honestly overly gratuitous sex scenes on repeat are not my thing). The characters are memorable, warm and funny. Olive and Ethan are adorable, and my only complaint is that the ending came too soon.
This book is the perfect, feel good romantic comedy that I want to read over and over again.
Netflix please make a movie. K thanks.

Thank you SO much to @netgalley for this advanced copy of The Unhoneymooners by @christinalauren!! I give their newest book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Olive’s twin sister is getting married, and disastrously at the wedding, almost all of the attendees get hit with a food borne virus. As the only two who didn’t get sick, there’s no other choice but for Olive to go on her sister’s honeymoon with the groom’s brother, Ethan, who she can’t stand. Not surprisingly, this turns into such a fun love story - mostly set in Maui. There’s a lot more to the story!! The character development is great, and I loved both of the main characters. I found myself really experiencing the emotional rollercoaster with them. Such a fun read, and I definitely recommend picking this one up when it comes out!
All of you Christina Lauren fans will love this one!

For Netgalley and Edelweiss:
The books is hands down one of my favorites by this author. To start with, in this novel the chemistry between the main characters feels not only realistic but has a sweet quirkiness to it that just draws a reader in. It’s fast past book, the reader is driven forward by the need to keep reading to see what will happen to the characters next because of the idea of ‘bad’ luck. Additionally, I really liked the duality seen throughout the book. With this idea of duality it’s interesting that at the end of the novel not everyone has a wonderful happy ending at first. Things change in the epilogue were all characters get a happy ending, but it’s not till years later. Over all the book, is quirky, fun and humorous. Perfect for someone looking for a simple read that’ll make him or her chuckle.

Though they follow a very typical format for their books, CL still makes them enjoyable. To me, Olive and Ethan reminded me exactly of Josh and Hazel. The only difference was that, I personally believe. Olive and Ethan were better written. Their plot line was also much better.
I found this book to be highly enjoyable and romantic enough without going into every little sexual detail. Also, the dialogue was well written. Will continue to read what these wonderful ladies are writing!

Unhoneymooners was a cute, funny enemies to lovers romance read. Olive (the unlucky) and her new brother-in-law Ethan inherit their siblings Honeymoon trip when they are the last men standing after their siblings' wedding reception. The pair have a sniping adversarial relationship, but figure that they can go their separate ways once they get to Maui. Fate however has other ideas, forcing the pair in proximity and having them re-evaluating their long time animosity towards each other.
I really enjoyed this story, I only recently discovered this author pairing and am happy I did. I have really liked their leading ladies - it is easy to get me to fall for the hero in a romance and a much tougher challenge for me to find leading ladies that I like. Here I loved Olive and I like that the trip teaches changes her outlook on life and luck. And ultimately I loved that the leading lady with the worst luck finally gets lucky ;)

This book was A+ enemies-to-lovers rom-com hilarity from start to finish in Christina Lauren's unique, compelling voice.

This book is enemies-to-lovers perfection. Laugh out loud moments. Tugging at your heart strings. Steam and tension for days. This is one of the best by Christina Lauren yet.
I inhaled this book. I loved every word on every page.

I love this story. It has the elements of sweet and funny. I love the slow build from hate to like to so much more.

Y'all, I love love LOVE Christina Lauren. That's not a secret. This one I really extra loved though because Olive just felt real. She's got complicated emotions, she talks like people actually talk right now (she says "here for it" at one point, which made me actually laugh out loud), and she actually explores her flaws and grows throughout the story. I also loved that so much of Ethan and Olive's relationship was based on a misunderstanding and perceptions they each had about one another - HELLO REAL LIFE. These two just write stories in a way that is engaging, emotional, and thoughtful. Easy five stars, will recommend, will purchase for friends!
