Wonderful feel good and warm and toasty inside read. I felt like I’d jumped into the book and I was there! Very sad when I got to the end and realised I was on my sofa

Liz Eeles has written a warm and cozy book that brings together a bookshop, a cafe, a country house hotel and a collection of enjoyable characters. Happy reading!

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

This book is an absolute gem! Full of well-rounded characters (I loved Gramp Stanley!), community spirit and humour, this ticked all my boxes. I'm a big fan of book shops so adding a cosy cafe to the business seemed like heaven to me and I wasn't disappointed at all. Liz Eeles is a new author for me and one I will be looking out for in the future. This is a charming and refreshing read.

Callie Fulbright works in a bookshop that has recently been taken over by a new owner. From the start I was reeled in by the brightness and warmth of both the writing and surroundings. Add to this we were in a bookshop and I was happy out!!!

Basically Callie endeavours to open a cafe in order to get more customers in. I'm always one for anything that melds books and a bit of a refurbishment, but add in a cosy cafe and you have me!! I loved a second pov we got too, and mix in some great characters and the result is a promise that I will definitely be checking out this author's books again. Very much recommended!!

This was a very enjoyable feel-good contemporary book set in a small town. Callie works at a local bookstore and she gets the opportunity to open and run a café in its backyard. Two brothers return to the town to renovate an old manor into a hotel and Callie is not very happy about it because one of them, Noah, is her ex-boyfriend and their relationship didn't end on the best terms. When they start running into each other, Callie realized she is still into him but knows that nothing serious can happen between them because Noah currently lives in New York.

I enjoyed reading about the characters, I liked how Callie used the opportunity to finally prove herself and that she poured her heart into her new project. The romance was cute. There was a character with anxiety, which was a pleasant surprise, and I thought it was handled pretty well. The small town was charming, although as someone who grew up in a small town, I often don't find this kind of setting to be very realistic but maybe I'm just bitter because the only book store we had closed down when I was a kid.

There was a touch of mystery, which felt a little bit ridiculous because the answer was obvious (I was hoping for a bit more exciting resolution) but mainly, it was just a very cozy and fun read that exceeded my expectations.

A charming tale of romance and more, this tells the story of Callie, who works in a bookshop. She has a new boss, and Callie proposes turning a store room into a cafe, which she will be responsible for. Friends and neighbours come together to help, and Callie's venture is a success, but then along comes an ex-boyfriend who she's never forgotten .... This was a lovely story, well written, with engaging characters and community spirit. I would definitely read more from this author.

After yet another failed romance, twenty-six-year-old Callie Fulbright is giving up on love. She’s determined to throw all her efforts into her very own, brand-new café: The Cosy Kettle. Serving hot tea, cherry tarts and a welcoming smile to the friendly locals proves to be the perfect distraction, and Callie feels a flush of pride at the fledging business she’s built.

But her new-found confidence is soon put to the test when her gorgeous ex reappears in the quaint little village. She’ll never forget the heartache Noah caused her years ago, but when they bump into each other on the cobbled streets of Honeyford she can’t help but feel a flutter in her chest…

As Callie and Noah share laughter and memories, she starts to wonder if this could be her second chance at happiness. But when Callie discovers that someone is mysteriously trying to ruin the café’s reputation… she has an awful suspicion that Noah knows who’s involved.

Was she wrong to ever trust him again? And can she find out who’s behind the lies and rumours, before it’s too late for the Cosy Kettle?

A real easy read
Callie lives with her gramps Stanley who has a new dangerous lease for life . Callie works in a bookshop . She suggests to her boss Flora to change the old stock room into a cafe . Flora agrees and the cosy kettle is born . Callie’s ex-boyfriend who broke her heart 8 years ago returns . There is also someone threatening the existence of the cafe.. This is a heartwarming novel with plenty of wonderful characters.

Liz Eeles is back with a new series called The Cosy Kettle and I'm super excited to be reading the first book, though I have to say I was a little nervous, as the Salt Bay series was excellent, but rather than worry, let just jump into the book.

We open the book and find your heroine Callie Fulbright running on her way to work while taking stock on her 26 years of life! From her loss of family to breakups and then to dealing with her grandfather, who has suddenly found a new lease of life and is getting into protest, slang, and everything that could potentially embarrass Callie. But before that even happens Callie has to make a good impression on her new boss. But Callie more than makes a good impression with Fiona, she inspires a new business idea!

This book is a fantastic start to this new series, the author has written such friendly and loveable characters, and tells us Callie's story in such a way, we feel like she is one of our best friends. In fact, I don't think there is a character that I dislike in this book, everyone seems to redeem themselves in the end, and I find that is such a rarity nowadays. As normal the writing is excellent, and you feel like you are a friend with everyone from the first chapter.

This was a fab little read. A light hearted book with loads of great characters! It made me smile, laugh and a little teary eyed. I would definitely recommend this book and it’s a perfect easy read. I’m looking forward to the next instalment.

I am at the age where long name of a book with colourful cheery cover indicating a romantic story inside shouldn’t attract me but I am. I am because the cover was beautiful and poped with cute things and the synopsis seems something else beside a romantic story. That lead me to request the ARC copy and the book didn’t disappoint me.

First of all a book shop is featured in the plot and who can resist to love it? The main character, Callie is so lovable and I love her more as she worked in a book shop and she had a dream of her own to do something. Callie is a small town girl living with her grandfather. She is the person with a golden heart. I was bound to fall in love with the character Callie. She is so caring and always look after of others.I love how she worked so hard in charge of the cafe and use every chance she got for it. There was a entrepreneur hiding in her I must say.

I love the character Flora, Callie’s boss. She is very understandable and full of fresh ideas like Callie but not at all bossy still push people to use their potential. Every character in this book is so likable. They are very well written. I don’t expect a light read to be such realistic and relatable. Readers will love Callie’s 80 years old grandpa. He is a old brat who stole every scene he was in. I wanted him more. Stanley is the charm of this book. Other character are also very well written.

The romance in this book between Callie and Noah is also very much enjoyable as their conversation, their scenes, the confusion and imagination in Callie’s head about Noah is very much practical. It’s cute but not cheesy. They are adorable. Though I think the ending would be better if it ended where Noah got back to his busy life. That’s my very own opinion.

You want a good laugh, smiling ear to ear and want to full your heart with warmth, this is book to go.

Completely fell in love with this book - it's so charming and lovely and sweet. I devoured it in one day! The characters are so adorable and I feel like I can totally relate to the protagonist - Callie. The author did an amazing job with giving these characters life and with captivating me with the story. Definitely a sweet read and highly recommended for people who need heart-warming loveliness in their life. Can't wait to read the next book!!!

Callie is such a good-natured character, I very much enjoyed her company throughout the whole book. Her idea of a café complementing the bookshop is great and just what this little town (or is it a village?) desperately needed. I also had great fun reading about Stanley and his dubious ideas. He was a real character.

There is a love story in this book, but it's not the center of attention - and it doesn't need to be. Callie and all things surrounding her were interesting enough for me (albeit the story as such could have been a bit longer). And it all was written with an exact dose of humour.

The ending was a bit 'fairy-taley' but it suited the general atmosphere of the book very well. I'll definitely come back to Honeyford in the next book of this new series!
