Tessa is happily married to Ethan and they have three kids. Both are working professionals and Tessa thinks she has it all - until she discovers some sexy photos on Ethan's IPad. To say she is upset and angry is an UNDERSTATEMENT - Tessa loses her mind a bit and decides to lure the "other woman", Lindsey, to her home while Ethan is away. When she gets there, Tessa ties Lindsey up and begins to interrogate her. Deceit, betrayal, hurt and anger all push Tessa over the edge.
This was a great book - every wife's nightmare! I felt the rage and hurt coming from Tessa. Both women have likeable qualities, but this situation brings out the worst in both of them. Told from both Tessa and Lindsey's POV;, this book had me turning the pages to find out how it all ends!
Thanks to Courtney Cole, Gallery Books and NetGalley for the ARC of this great book!
Mine is an atmospheric, cleverly plotted novel with tension building as the story progresses. Some twists strained credulity a little, but it was still quite a ride and definitely entertaining!
Holy wild piss soaked mattress, this is a hell of a thriller. I devoured this book in about 3 hours. It's a dual narrative tale, told between a wife and a mistress, Tessa and Lindsey, respectively. Ethan is the shit heel husband in the mix. Tessa lures the mistress over to her house in the middle of a cat 4 hurricane in Florida, when she realizes that her husband has left behind his iPad and she's discovered some racy messages from his account that's synced to his phone. He's off on business in NY and right before the storm really sets in she leaves a set of "go to the bedroom" and "put these handcuffs on" instructions for the mistress while she hides out and waits for the real fun to begin. It's a WILD ride from there and I was not expecting the growth arc and the truly moving relationship that develops between these two. Set amidst a dangerous storm, titillating pings from an ever increasingly panicked husband off in NY as he realizes what's going on back home, and a hemophiliac son that stumbles into the home 3/4s of the way through the novel, this book really delivers. Great read!
When Tessa Taylor discovers that her husband has been cheating on her, she lures his mistress to her house and a hurricane traps them both inside. I was definitely tense wondering what Tessa was going to do to the mistress, but some of the twists I found a bit hard to buy. This was original twist on the betrayed wife scenario with a bit of food for thought on women standing up for how they deserve to be treated.
3.5 stars
This book was creepy!! I had never read any books by this author before, so I'm curious if the others are as leave the lights on and check the door locks. As this book was. I think this book could convince married people NOT to cheat.
Courtney Cole has created a moody atmospheric thriller read with Mine. Worth the time and will keep you turning pages.
4.5 Stars!
MINE by Courtney Cole is a compulsive read that's hard to put down. I rooted for the wronged wife through the entire novel, and considered her relatively easy on the mistress during the violent confrontation at the heart of the story. The defiance of the other woman, who considered herself entitled to her affair with her married lover, made her less than sympathetic. As the story progressed, however, the author tightly wove the tale of the two women in love with the same man in a way that made readers understand them both. Cole brought the story to a satisfying conclusion with a series of clever plot twists. Highly recommended read.
Mine is a delightfully easy read, I whipped through it in a few fun hours.
Tessa and Ethan have been married for 20 years. Tessa drops her kids with her parents in anticipation of a long weekend at home in Florida with her husband when their plans suddenly change. She is unexpectedly dealing with a hurricane and Ethan cannot get home from his business trip in NYC.
She borrows his iPad and discovers to her horror that her husband has been exchanging sexy texts and racy photos with a 26 year old named Lindsay for some time. She is horrified but pissed and she sends Lindsay a text from Ethan's iPad inviting her to come over and ride out the storm with him.
Told from the POV of both Tessa and Lindsay, this is a tale of revenge, self-discovery and grit.
The ending is a little cozy for me but overall a great story and a fun read.
Thank you to Courtney Cole, Gallery, Threshold, Pocket Books, and NetGalley for giving me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Two women one man. Tessa opens her husband computer to discover nude photos of her husbands mistress. In the midsts of a hurricane she decides to confront her. Once she arrives she realizes it will be a battle of will and strength
Who will come out on top
This book was pure magic. Fast paced and fantastic from page one. loved every single second of this amazing read and would highly recommend to all romance lovers.
Mine by Courtney Cole is very well written, a tight suspense novel of what happens when the wife and the mistress meet up during a nasty hurricane. Revenge and betrayal are definite themes interwoven within the pages of Mine.
When Tess finds out that her husband is having an affair, she loses it. Literally comes unglued, has a tantrum and in the midst of her anger an idea pops to the surface that she can't let go of. Once she sees the evidence on her husband's iPad, Tess takes advantage of the fact that she is alone in the house during the storm. She pretends to be her husband and invites his mistress, Lindsey over to the house. Once Lindsey arrives, the real action starts as Tess ties her up on the bed and starts questioning her.
The story continues to develop as we see each woman's love for the same man, Ethan. The reader is also exposed to each person's greatest weaknesses, the qualities within that make them difficult to like. (Ethan is a pig! The women he is involved with have lovable qualities, but this confrontation between Tess and Lindsey brings out the horrible sides.
Tess' rage is so understandable and easy to relate to. Lindsey's character at first is so hard to like. It is so easy to see her as just a detestable self centered woman. The character development builds slowly throughout Mine and shows more about who each woman is (and the jerk of a man they each are in love with). I could not put this book down!!! Definitely a fun read!
Overall I enjoyed this book. It was fast paced and easy to read. While some of the things that happened seemed unrealistic, it overall captured the feelings of a woman scorned. The ending was a little to convienent for me though. I also found a few grammatical errors that will hopefully be corrected before it gets released. I always find them distracting. If you are looking for a quick, easy read, this is the book for you. 3.5 stars
10 stars, the book had me at the edge of my seat, I couldn’t put it down ....the most captivating book I’d read in a while......this is the first I’ve read by this author but will definitely read her other book and I hope she writes more
A great book with a unique plot. I only wish the Author had put the hurricane in there a little more often.
Holy cow!! I’ve just read this novel in one sitting. Book is written so well that I felt sick on my stomach because I thought it was my husband who was cheating on me. Just great mix of thriller and woman fiction which was tens and fast moving. I definitely have to read more books by Courtney Cole.

I know this book had decent ratings, but in all honesty, it really didn’t do it for me.
The descriptions of the house at the beginning were so tiresome. Then we move on to the meat of the novel and...I just wasn’t impressed. I mean, sure, I’d be ready to destroy my husband’s beloved fishing gear if I found out he was a lying asshat, but come ON. This normal woman results to this craziness? And the ending? Ugh. It was too much like one of those mail order books my mom used to ready in the late 90s. Wasn’t a fan.
Thanks, Netgalley and Gallery Books for this book to give my honest reviews on.
This book reads like the fantasy of a betrayed wife. Tessa finds out that her husband has a mistress, and in the perfect confluence of circumstances, she’s able to lure the young woman to her home during a storm that keeps everyone else away. Or almost everyone. All of her baser instincts prevail, while the girl remains feisty and arrogant, until both wear out and they each learn something from the other. Neither is particularly likable under the circumstances, and the husband is a certified jerk, which makes one feel like the whole problem isn’t a problem at all. They all seem to deserve each other. This was a hard one to care about the outcome, and parts required some suspension of disbelief in order to keep one involved.
Tessa is riding out a raging hurricane completely on her own. Her two youngest kids are safe, staying with their grandparents. The oldest is away at college. Husband is out of town for meetings, unable to get home.
Now Tessa can’t even find her own iPad, so she reaches for her husband’s. And that’s when her troubles went from very bad to down-right nightmarish!
Tessa is in utter shock as she scans messages to her husband from another woman named Lindsey! And folks let me tell you, there was nothing innocent about those messages!
With her world shattered and clearly not thinking straight, she texts a message to Lindsey, pretending to be her cheating husband.
The master plan? To convince Lindsey to come to the house for an all-out confrontation! And maybe a dash of revenge! (Did I mention she wasn’t thinking clearly?!)
This is a speedy story of heartache, betrayal and a splash of madness. Because as we all know...
“Hell hath no fury...!”
So, what would you do if you found out your spouse was having an affair?
Just how hard would you fight for what you felt was yours? Let’s just say Tessa is prepared to take it to an entirely new level! You’ll just have to find out for yourself to see who, if anyone, comes away from this warm and fuzzy love triangle unscathed!
A buddy read with Susanne!🌸
Thank you to Jessica Roth at Gallery Threshold Pocket Books via Netgalley and Courtney Cole for an ARC to read and review.
I honestly loved this story so much even though the ending was a bit predictable. Tessa is married to Ethan and they have three children. They are happy. Or so Tessa thinks. One evening after dropping her children off for a weekend at the grandparents', Tessa comes home to find messages on her husband's iPad from another woman. Thinking she'll be sneaky and invite the woman over pretending to be her husband, Tessa coaxes her husband's mistress Lindsay over to their house. Ethan is away on a business trip. What happens next is a fast-paced, can't put it down adventure. With a huge storm arriving the cell phone service goes out and Tessa and Lindsay are left to duke it out. But really, who is the villain here? You'll just have to read the book to find out. Engaging, and oh-so-eye-opening. Perfect for fans of suspense.
Weakly plotted romance novel about a woman who seeks to avenge her husband's affair by kidnapping his mistress during a hurricane.
