Thank you for allowing me to review this book.
This book is again set within Exeter University and a murderer is on the loose killing professors and students. This book is a truly gripping and fast paced thriller with all the twists and turns.

Having read the previous book to this one, I was excited to read more about the detectives Grey and Miles partnership. The book focussed on not only their professional relationship but also their personal relationship, which in amongst some of the gruesome murders in this book was most welcome :)

It was also interesting to see other familiar people from the previous books make an appearance in this one. Although this can be read as a stand-alone, I would advise reading the ones before to truly appreciate the characters and storyline in this book.

Great read and hopefully there will be a follow up to this one!

I hadn't read any of the previous books, so I feel I came a bit late to the story. But the author does fill in the gaps, so I did figure out who was who, etc.

A bit bloody, the murders seem unconnected, but in fact are. As the tensions between the police detectives, the bad guy from the previous book, finding the missing and putting all the pieces together, the pace is quick. Its intriguing and in a way, the crime is a little less interesting than the meshing of personalities.

It is a bit tiresome to always have the psychopathic killers be so incredibly good at what they do that they are rarely caught, never seen and always the clean getaway. But here is another one, with a sympathetic back story and a fledgling conscience. His interaction here is a bit fun.

Not sure if I can handle the gore of other books, but a quick and captivating read.

When the bodies of 2 university lecturers are found and a crimewave begins amongst the students Ds Adrian Miles and his team are tasked with discovering the link, added to the mix is the arrival of a face from the past.

Although this is a riveting read i did feel it was stretched out

Loved this latest installment of Grey & Miles' partnership, and great to see the return of a familiar killer too. A gripping, fast paced thriller investigating a dangerous game of death and intrigue. While this is a standalone novel, the development of Grey & Miles' relationship makes more sense when the series is read in order, The Teacher, The Secret, The Angel and The Promise, Truth or Die.

I really enjoyed this fast paced thriller of a murder mystery and a secret group of lecturers playing a dangerous and illegAl game. It kept me hooked and I loved the lead characters in the book and look forward to reading more.

This is part of a series and having enjoyed the previous books I was looking forward to reading this. The murders are pretty gruesome and I really enjoyed the pairing of the lead detectives. The book gets going straight away and there is never a dull moment from start to finish. You don't need to have read the previous books to enjoy it but I would recommend exploring them.

Truth or Die is the fifth book in a series featuring DS Miles and DS Grey. Oh I loved this. I love every book in the series. Katerina Diamond is one of my favourite authors ever! This book was just as amazing as the rest, maybe even better! ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
The butchered body of a professor is found in a private room of Exeter University. It is first in a spate of murders that will shake the city. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
An absolutely gripping read. I read this in one sitting. Again I don’t want to say too much, in fear of spoilers but I recommend you read everything by this author. These books can be read as standalone but I highly recommend you read them as a part of a series. The friendship between partners Miles and Grey is marvellous. Their chemistry, banter and all round magnetism just makes these stories even more incredible than they all ready are. I laughed, gaped and at one point shouted . A perfect read for psychological thriller fans who like things a little on the darker side. Highly, highly recommended.
P.s other books in the series in order. The Teacher, The Secret, The Angel and The Promise xx

This is part of a series and I had not read the prior books. Because of that this book lost something. the relationship between the two main characters had obviously built over time. Also part of this mystery was related to a prior story. That part of the story and its culmination weere a bit unbelievable.

What a great read! Quite by accident I read the first novel by this author and had to add her books to my "must read" authors. So you can imagine how excited I was to receive a copy to review of this book. I loved it.
Ms Diamond has delivered yet another great read. The storyline was well thought out and written with well developed characters. The plot provides a wonderful rollercoaster ride that keeps hold of your attention until the very end.
Well worth a read.

Not my favorite in this series- the characters’ quirks and the plot twists are not as fresh and we need a little more pizazz for this to be a four or even a three point five rounded up. Proper three point two five rounded down 🙅🏻‍♀️

Thank you NetGalley and Avon Books UK for this arc.

I read this as a stand-alone, not realizing it was part of a series until I was a few pages into the book. I found it to be a fast paced and easy read the had all of the elements of a really good procedural story. A criminal gang with an unseen mastermind, victims a plenty that were flipped to become part of the gang, gory crime scenes, a sense or urgency on the police to end the rampage... yadda, yadda, yadda. But I just didn't warm up to any of the characters. They just weren't developed enough for me to be much interested in them. Maybe if I had read the previous books that would be different. Also, the new developments in the relationship between Grey and Miles detracted from the story and felt forced as well as a little juvenile. I also found the ending was too forced and neat for my tastes.

DS Imogen Grey and partner DS Adrian Miles are investigating the murder of a university professor, a man who on the surface at least, has led a squeaky clean life. His students can’t (or won’t) provide any insight, but there’s mush at stake, as the killer has only just begun his grisly work
