Thank you Net Galley and Bookouture for an early release of The Girl Across the Street. Wow, Wow, Wow!!! Wonderful book, one of the BEST I've read. Loved the characters, just a good book that you didn't want to put down, love books that you cant get enough of. Thank you Vikki Patis.

A fabulous psychological thriller that is hard to put down. The writing is fast paced and the characters are intriguing.
My only negative would be that I expected a little more from the ending. That being said, I really enjoyed it and it’s worthy of 4 stars.

A fast-paced thriller with a twist that was...not quite as sinister as expected. When Isla and Beth witness a hit-and-run, they are inextricably linked -especially if Beth has anything to say about it. When she sees that Isla's life is more complicated - and a lot worse - than she saw from the outside, Beth's plan to profit from that night is forever altered. I found myself rooting for both women, despite either of them being far from perfect.

A couple of scenes at the end were a little over the top, and Isla's husband was the same - all evil, less than human. Even with his wicked witch of a mother, it was hard to believe that Jake could have gotten away with his abuse, living under the same roof as his decent father.

Overall, recommended for a fast-paced read that's not entirely easy.

For starters this was a good gripping story of 2 women who meet by chance. But it also was a little bit too far fetched for me. Who allows someone to move in with them when they dont’t even know them??? I was shaking my head the entire time! It also never got to the “mystery” part of the story until almost the end. The ending was definitely an interesting twist and wasn’t what I was expecting. All in all not a bad book but not sure I would recommend.. Thank you Netgalley for letting me give an honest review of this book.

Thanks Netgalley, Bookouture, and the author for the opportunity to review this exciting psychological thriller.

I loved the author's debut "The Diary" and was excited to read her next book, and it was amazing.

This has all the ingredients for a suspenseful , engrossing, and realistic psychological thriller. With shocking surprises, secrets, and twists along with relatable characters. Two women meet by chance, or is it? What secrets are they hiding? And how much do they really know about each other? Happy reading.

Thank you to Bookouture, and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book. And what a good realistic physiological thriller this is. Two women come to together by accident, or was it truly an accident. Both have secrets and scars from their lives. The Author will keep you engrossed in this story, trust me. Great read, I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a realistic physiological thriller.

The Girl Across the Street by Vikki Patis was an extremely satisfying novel of mystery, intrigue, and domestic noir. The two main characters are brought together on the night of a traffic accident in which a cyclist is hit by a hit and run driver.

Isla and Beth live completely different lives it would appear but this accident brings these women together in more ways than either of them thought they knew. Told from the perspective of both women they may have more in common than they first thought.

Isla, immacutely put together but sad and lonely didn’t know that rough around the edges Beth may be that one friend she needs. Beth, independent and angry didn’t know that she also needed that one friend. A friend she didn’t even know she wanted or needed.

When circumstances beyond the accident lead to Beth staying with Isla and her husband Jake Beth soon learns that the grass is not always greener on the other side. But that’s not Beth’s problem. Or is it? Why is Beth really staying with Isla? Isla thinks she’s good at hiding the truth but so is Beth. Question is, what are they hiding?

A very special thank you to Netgalley and Bookoutre for my ARC of this page turner!

This ARC was provided by #netgalley and #bookoture for an honest review.

This is a story of 2 women both of whom hold secrets and have a connection. We meet them at the scene of a hit and run and thereafter delve into their lives as they get to know one another. And I won't say much more to avoid spoilers.

This was a more assured book from Ms Patis. I feel that she is more confident in her writing and has hit the ground running with this. She once again deftly tackles some weighty issues, domestic violence, rape, abortion but with sensitivity and a sense of hope at the end. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it is the very definition of page turner given that I finished it in one day.

Gripping....I could not stop reading this. At all points you want to know why! The friendship which develops between Isla and Beth is so well portrayed. I was all ready to give this 5 stars but I was slightly disappointed by the ending which was over oh so rapidly.

I absolutely loved The Girl Across the Street! I was gripped and couldn't put it down until I knew how it ended. Characters are believable and although sad situations are realistic. I'll admit when I read the synopsis for this I wasn't completely sold but this is a marvellous story and I highly recommend it. 5/5.

Her name is Beth. She came into my life when I needed her the most. We lead very different lives, but she’s the only person who understands me.

She was the only other witness to the terrible accident on the street between our homes. The only person who saw the cracks in my perfect life before I had the chance to cover them up. It’s been so long since I’ve had a friend. Someone to talk to, to listen to, to laugh and dream with. Beth would never do anything to hurt me.

A fantastic read with well put together characters and a fantastic ending! I loved this book, once you start reading it, you won't be able to put it down.

A very enjoyable read. I think what I enjoyed the most is it is so creedible, these people exist and hide in our everyday lives, they could be your neighbor, your co-worker or your sibling. There are monsters in our midst, and unless like one of our main characters, you reach out a hand and a heart filled with compassion, you would never know.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and the publisher Bookcoutour.

A stranger's accident brings Beth and Isla together. Beth is poor - she lives with her lazy, unemployed, boyfriend.
In contrast, Isla is married to her well-to-do husband who travels a lot for his work.

Eventually, Beth and Isla strike up a friendship. Beth has an unclear hidden agenda. Isla is desperate to have a friend

As time passes, we look closely into the lives of both Beth and Isla. Many problems develop with Jake, Isla's husband, and his godawful mother. Isla is feeling as if she has no choice but to stay with Jake. Beth MAY just have a way to help (or not) Isla out of her downtrodden life...

Many thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for a spectacular read!!!

Absolutely brilliant, loved everything about this book and got involved with all the characters from the very beginning.

An exciting and gripping page turner, well written and can recommend this to anyone who enjoys psychological thrillers. After reading Vikki's first book The Diary I didn't think she could better that one but she has absolutely smashed it with this new book. Well done Vikki and I eagerly await your next masterpiece.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read this fantastic book.

OMG! I was addicted to this book from page 1, Line 1. I really enjoyed that the author built the characters so that I got to know them and regardless if I hated some of them or not, they were brought to life through words.
I felt so much emotion for Isla. I wanted to sit in her garden with her and share that bottle of wine and a cigarette with her. When she was hurt, I wanted to hug her.

This is one amazing psychological thriller and I give it 5 stars across the board.

Thank you #NetGalley, #bookouture, and the author for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I loved it!!! Posting on goodreads
