I received this arc from Netgalley for an honest review. This is a great book for kids about being kind and how each of them can be kind.

Pros: This book is charming and needed for children, teens, and adults. Sometimes we forget to be kind as adults, but this book helps children start off on the right path. It takes a second to be kind, and a minute or longer for the opposite. This little reminder is just what a person needs to help their hearts and others throughout the day. It's a good way to be in general and this book is what the reader needs in order to do give back to others.

Cons: None! It is a must read, and a great tool to keep in your collection of books for everyone in the household, and not just for kids.

I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
Thanks NetGalley!

This book should be in every children's classroom. I mean let's be real, most adults should read this too! haha.

Be Kind by Naomi Shulman is a super cute book that is great for both kids and adults! With fantastic illustrations, each page highlights an idea for showing kindness, making friends, and spreading goodness. Most ideas are cost-free and can be done spur of the moment. Be Kind will make the world a happier place and is the perfect gift book.

An ambitious and beautifully organized and collected narrative and images to accompany them. A must for young children and young children's classrooms.

I adored this book. Was happy to learn that it is suitable for adults, not only children. Would be great to use in the classroom with any class level, focusing on one kind thing a day/week. The pictures are bright and colourful, and very engaging.

This is a sweet, thoughtful book about kind acts that should appeal to children of many ages. The illustrations are colorful and appealing. Besides the 50 plus suggestions for being kind, the author offers non-preachy reminders of good manners, such as being on time lets people know they matter to you. This book will be heavily used by schools with character curriculums. Because the drawings feature small pictures, this is probably a good book to share with a few students at a time rather than a whole class. But wait --- it's so cute, every student (and adult) may want their own copy! Recommended for children ages 6 and up.

A great book that gives kids creative ways to express kindness. It gives children easy and precise ideas to spread kindness through simple yet effective ways. Ideas for saying sorry and being there for others are what stood out the most. The illustrations were cute. My son loved the vibrant illustrations.

This book reminded me of the song my kids sing "kindness is a muscle, gotta flex it...every day." This wonderful book offers so many suggestions for how to be kind, which is something we could all be more of every day.

What a wonderful guide to being kind! Naomi Shulman’s writing is direct, well-crafted, and warm, pairing nicely with Hsinping Pan’s lovely pictures. A practical, life-affirming guide that speaks to children in their own language.

Be Kind is a great reminder for young and old to incorporate thoughtful acts of kindness into everyday living. It's filled with colorful, cheerful illustrations and easy-to-implement ideas and discussion points for children in particular. It's a timely, well written, well designed title that should be added to classrooms and bookshelves everywhere.

I received a complimentary copy of this title via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

This book warmed my heart and immediately made me think about how I can incorporate it in my elementary school library. The format was so incredibly kid-friendly and timely; the fact that it included simple suggestions of manners relating to screen time and tech usage will really resonate with kids today. The pages were bright, colorful and eye catching while still being simplistic. I love that the kindness ideas spanned a variety of settings - there were suggestions about things that kids could do at home, at school, and in their community, and each one was fairly simple and low to no cost. I would love to have some kind of companion posters or flip chart version of this to have on display in my library where kids can reference a different page or tip at a time, because it will take quite a while to get this book into the hands of all 1,100 students. Thank you, NetGalley for the ARC!

I read this book with my 8 year old who enjoyed it as much as I did. My personal favorite was "be a hug ambassador" and he is now ready to cover pine cones with bird seeds for the birds. We want to make sure our children are kind people above all else and this book was right up our alley. The ideas are simple and easy to do. I love a good list and to have a list of ideas to reference is always nice for this mom brain of mine. Be Kind is a simple yet important reminder that we can be kind in many ways in many places. Thank you NetGalley for his e-ARC.

This is such a cute book! And as an educator, I think that there are many ways in which we can use this book in the classroom, as some of our projects focus on giving back and being kind to one another.

This delightful book is a keeper. I suggest one in every home, classroom and library (whether public or school ). What the world needs now is a fresh sprinkling of magic dust to make kindness reign!

Each page is bright, vibrant and kid-friendly with simple text that encourage kids (and adults) to be ambassadors of KINDNESS! 125 suggestions are there at your fingertips to start implementing... acts of selflessness, engagement and reaching out to others to make their day better and happier. Some are easy like smiling at someone, complimenting them, saying good morning first, and others take more effort such as sticking up for someone who is being bullied, eating with the new kid at the lunchroom table, planting bird-friendly plants like sunflowers, hosting a movie night complete with popcorn for your friends, reading to someone who hasn't learned how to yet and offering to help classmates if they are struggling with math or other subjects, just to name a few.

If everyone chooses kindness, and it is a choice, the world will be a much happier place for us all. "If you can be anything, be kind."

This is a lovely book that prompts children to do kind things. It teaches them the importance of being selfless and helping others. The illustrations are bright and simple (though a little warped in places) and accompany the text well. The great thing about this book is that children could open it at any page and do that thoughtful act of kindness that day. There are some lovely suggestions, particularly with helping the elderly and those less fortunate than ourselves. It is a very important trait to instill in children at a young age and will hopefully encourage them to be kind in the future without needing to be prompted.

Be Kind is a list of very doable kind acts most children can perform. From the very simple tasks a child can do on her own, like asking how someone’s day was, to community projects requiring the aid of an adult, such as putting in a show at a senior center, this book has ideas for everyone.
As both a mother and teacher, I see many uses for this book. Not only does it give concrete ways to show kindness, it is a fantastic starting point for kids to brainstorm other ways they can help at home and in their communities.
