Delaney and Wyatt have been childhood friends and together they run the Cabins in the Pines Campground. A bypass on the highway has caused the business to suffer and the grounds and buildings are in dire need for repairs and upgrading. Delaney decides to apply for a reality TV show that comes in and tries to save a troubled business. They get the chance to appear on the show which makes their world and campground spiral into upheaval. I really enjoyed this funny and sweet new book from Hallmark Publishers. It has a great story and I know that it will make a wonderful movie.
When I started reading Love on Location, I quickly realized that I was constantly comparing it to my previous Hallmark read The Secret Ingredient which I had loved. The reason is that both novels share one common trait: they include a reality tv component to bring the lead characters together. Well, as much as I enjoyed the mood in the previous read, I didn’t quite connect with this new storyline. I kept thinking how much I preferred the other plot in comparison. I think it’s more a matter of timing here, really. A pity because I usually have great fun with this editor’s picks. Next time!
I enjoyed this book by Cassidy Carter. The characters were realistic, charming, and quirky at times. How neat to have a reality show come in to help Wyatt with his Cabins in the Pines, which are struggling financially. He may lose his family owned business that has been handed down through the generations.
I liked the twists that Alexandra brought while they were filming the show, especially at the end of the show. I also enjoyed the friendship Wyatt and Delaney have had for each other since they were kids. Neither one wants to ruin their friendship but you can tell it is more than just friendship.
There were several surprises at the end of the story that I enjoyed and did not see coming. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Another hit from Hallmark Publishing. It is a fast, fun read and the main characters Delaney & Wyatt are too cute! They are childhood best friends, working together at Wyatts family campground. Cabin in the Pines is in financial trouble and a needs renovation to drive guests in. Delaney applies for a business reality show and gets chosen, the Pines are going to be saved! I really enjoyed the reality TV aspect of the book. Little different, but it worked!
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.
This book had the best characters and drew me into the story from the very beginning. Wyatt and Delaney have been best friends from childhood. Even though they have suffered heartache and loss, they still do their best to take care of their friends and family. Wyatt’s family campground has fallen on some hard times financially, and Delaney is determined to find a way to save it. She does this by applying for a business “fixer upper” type TV show. Their campground gets accepted for the show, and when the cameras and crew arrive, Wyatt and Delaney’s relationship is suddenly under scrutiny. Do they dare put their solid friendship at risk to see if they truly love each other? This story made me smile and cheer them on through all the upheaval of the renovation of both the campground and their relationship. There’s some great secondary characters in this book, too, that add much to the story. This is light, fun, entertaining reading.
This is exactly the kind of book I’ve come to expect from Hallmark Publishing: A clean, sweet, well-written story with great characters and a storyline that keeps you turning pages to find the happily-ever-after moment. I’m hoping this book is turned into a Hallmark Movie, but honestly, I will probably still think the book was better!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
3 1/2 stars
Cabins in the Pines is in trouble and it looks like there’s no way out, except Delaney, who seems to fix everything, has contacted a reality TV program that is interested in renovating the campground. Now she just has to drop this bombshell on her best friend, Wyatt.
Love on Location didn’t really have any surprises for me. It’s a simple, wholesome story that you could easily see turned into a Hallmark movie.
Delaney and Wyatt are best friends who cutely say things at the same time and have similar mindsets. There’s no tension between them and very little spark. Indeed, the only tension in their relationship comes near the end with Delaney having a mini-tantrum and deserting Wyatt, which felt so off to me because she is so extremely level-headed. However, if you know romances, you know that there has to be a deterrent somewhere so that was it.
The other characters seem like token characters: the off-beat Aunt Ursula, the very capable best friend, Maisie, the sweet happy daughter, Rachel, the almost evil reality tv star, Alex. With the exception of Alex, I would have enjoyed getting to know the other characters better, especially Ursula and Maisie.
I guess I can sum up this way: if you love Hallmark movies, you will probably love Love on Location. It’s clean, wholesome reading with a sense of fun.

A cute rom-com!
This book is exactly the kind of story I want to read when I'm reading a Hallmark-published story. It was sweet and clean (no cursing, no sex) so the book focused on the actual stories and character development, which is rare in publishing these days.
Delaney, Wyatt, and the entire Cabins In The Pines gang were tremendous. I loved reading about them and their adventures with the reality television crew. I also loved watching Wyatt and Delaney figuring out that they were meant to be – we could all see it from the first time they were on page together, but they didn't realize it. Every “little moment” they shared together was absolutely adorable and fun to read.
If the reality television aspect of the book is off-putting to you, this take on that theme was actually really fun and interesting. I don't watch reality television myself, but I liked reading this author's take on how things are run and what *really* happens on “reality” television. Even though the TV crew plays a part in the story, that aspect of the book never overwhelms the love story.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a sweet friends-to-lovers love story. This one is great.
Loved the story line and the characters. I know I would not want to be on reality tv, but we do seem fascinated by some of the folks on them. I would love to go stay at Cabins in the Pines. It sounds like so much fun and to have Maisie and the Bean Pot right there. Seriously, what more would you want! Delaney and Wyatt, what can we say? I totally get their predicament, and there isn’t always an easy answer. I love that this whole crew truly loves and cares for each other. I hope to be able to hang out with them again. I received this book from NetGalley, but my opinion is my own.

I have said it before and I will say it again, I am a huge fan of Hallmark Channel movies as well as their new publishing line.
Delaney has just about gotten her life together after her divorce. She's working along side her best friend Wyatt at his resort. But money is running short, as well as customers. They have one chance of saving the place they have both come to love. Invite a film crew to make a documentary of the place. Neither Wyatt or Delaney know about what they are getting into. Everything is changing so fast. But what also is changing is their appreciation for each other. They started off as best friends. Is that enough or will it blossom into something more? And is it worth ruining their friendship.
I recommend this book to Hallmark fans everywhere.
And like Hallmark Channel, this book is clean with no language, violence, or sexual content to worry about. Just good clean fun.
Love on Location by Cassidy Carter. A very cute story about reality TV a location in the Pines and a family trying to keep their business going.
The Cabins in the Pines resort is in trouble. Owner Wyatt has barely been able to make payroll ever since the interstate bypassed his family's rustic resort. Life-long friend Delaney thinks the solution might be a reality show make-over, but she doesn't count on watching the gorgeous show hostess flirt with Wyatt...or how jealous that makes her feel. With so much at stake and everything to lose, will Delaney and Wyatt risk their friendship for the chance at happily-ever-after?
Loaded with quirky supporting characters and situated in a setting that will have readers recalling the best days of summer camp, Love On Location hooked me on the first page. I couldn't put it down until I devoured the final word, and I highly recommend this sweet romance!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for providing an ARC of Love On Location. This is my honest opinion of the book. .

If you’re in the mood for a friends-to-lovers romance that will keep you securely in the feel-good zone, then LOVE ON LOCATION should be on your to-pick-up list.
Delaney and Wyatt have been friends since childhood, now as adults, they’re facing the realities of keeping a campground in working order and finding campers after the highway did a number on their location. Delaney has a great idea — except, it didn’t quite work out as she intended… at all.
For some reason, this reality show reminded me of Bar Rescue where no one really gets a say in what they truly want and the entire establishment is changed and moved around… and not always for the better in my opinion. I don’t know why it’s the only reality show my family watches… but there ya go. Our guilty secret. In many ways, this is exactly what Delaney introduced to her environment when she thought of a surprise to help Wyatt and the campgrounds. She wasn’t expecting this mess… or the beautiful hostess who would try to latch onto Delaney’s man… even if Wyatt wasn’t her man – yet.
I enjoyed LOVE ON LOCATION for several reasons. But in reality, Wyatt is so adorably clueless. He truly is. He’s not picking up on the hostess with the watching eyes… and he’s not picking up on Delaney’s changing feelings for him. Watching this couple work their way through all of the obstacles in their way to a happy ending was pure joy. I had such fun, and I’m betting you will, too. Looking for that romance that will give you some sighs, some chuckles and a really good time? Then check out LOVE ON LOCATION, I’m betting you’ll enjoy yourself.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
A wonderfully sweet romance with excellent characterization and delightful dialogue. The author's voice is strong and engaging and I'd definitely read more of her work!
Love on Location is another sweet Hallmark book! This story makes the perfect read for spring and summer with it's campground scenery. While Hallmark books can be enjoyed by a wide variety of ages, I think this particular book is better suited for more mature readers due to the ages of the main characters. However, I enjoyed reading about all of the different characters and loved how they felt like one big family. Overall, this was a sweet and enjoyable read about best friends finally realizing that they are in love with each other.
I throughly enjoyed this sweet romance. Great plot, characters and writing. I highly recommend this book to France of romance novels.
I truly loved reading Love on Location. It was wonderful written and storyline. I enjoyed reading about Wyatt and Delaney. The story ran smoothly and I was hooked from the first chapter.
Thank you Cassidy Carter, Hallmark and the Publisher for a advanced copy of these book in exchange for an honest review.
This is such sweet and cozy friends-to-lovers romance! I’ve generally liked the Hallmark books I’ve read, but I think this one has to be my favorite so far!
“Come to the Cabins in the Pines—beautiful vistas, relaxing, remote location—and hardly any campers!”
Delaney and Wyatt were childhood best friends who grew up together playing at his parent’s campground. As adults, they’ve reconnected after Delaney moved back with her daughter, Rachel, after her divorce and Wyatt inherited the campground after his parents died in a car accident. But after a highway bypass went in, the campgrounds are in an out-of-the-way location, leading to less visitors and no money to make necessary improvements, like a website or broken plumbing. Without Wyatt’s knowledge, Delaney contacts a reality TV show that’s known for overhauling businesses and helping them become profitable. It seems like a miracle – until the TV show arrives. But the TV show means change, and the revisions the gorgeous host intends may mean losing the Pines forever – and Wyatt with it. In trying to save the campgrounds, will Delaney and Wyatt ruin their chances at a relationship?
Delaney’s a wonderful character. Wyatt’s a fan of classic movies and teasingly calls her “his girl Friday” for her problem-solving acumen. As the office manager, she’s incredibly resourceful and the first person anyone goes to when something goes wrong, always figuring out what the campground can barter when a problem occurs. For instance, when one of the diner’s refrigerators goes down, she bargains them using extra fridge space for letting a local rancher’s cows graze on the campgrounds. Though we also get his POV, I found Wyatt a little annoying clueless. He frequently refers to her as his best friend and his rock since childhood, but is completely oblivious to there being anything else between them.
“Wyatt realized he hadn’t minded having his arm around her, either—and the thought made a slow warmth creep into his chest. As crazy as it was, he let the warmth sit there and expand a bit. Delaney wasn’t his, at least not in any romantic sense. She was his best friend, his right-hand woman, and that was all.
Is that really all?”
I loved how the playful best friend banter between Delaney and Wyatt slowly became more flirtatious. At the start of the book, Delaney’s realized that she has feelings for Wyatt but is reluctant to tell him for fear of ruining their friendship. Wyatt, as mentioned, is oblivious, but when the filming crew ask him about his relationship with Delaney, he starts questioning whether there could be something more between them. There was one particular scene that I loved. Wyatt comes over with a pizza and watches TV with Delaney and her daughter. It was just such a sweet, normal moment, and I loved seeing that aspect of how they’d become a family. My usual critique of “behind closed doors” romance is that it requires a lot more skill on the author’s side to convince me of the relationship, and I think Ms. Carter did that wonderfully.
As for cons, I’m not a big fan of other women/jealousy subplots, and there is one with Alex, the star of the reality show. I never quite got her motivation for it, and Alex is a bit of mercurial character, acting one way with Delaney and another in front of the cameras. I’m also not a big fan of reality TV shows (which is hilarious, because the last Hallmark book I read also had a TV show component) but I worried the author would choose to make the TV crew jaded and mean compared to our scrappy country heroes, but it luckily avoided that. In contrast, I adored the campground staff. They’re more than just coworkers – they’re a family who loves each other and the campgrounds. They all seemed well-characterized to me, and I loved the little side romance between a TV crew person and the diner’s cook.
Overall, I thought this book was sweet and heartwarming, exactly what you’d expect from a Hallmark book. If you like bestfriends-to-lovers, reality TV shows, or just want to read something cozy, I’d definitely recommend this book!
I received this book for free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Do you prefer to read your Hallmark romance or watch it? Movie or Book sometime this can be a tough one for me, but in this case, the author gave me all the visual pictures I needed in this wonderful book, that I could almost smell the pine trees. This is a sweet friend to love read that will captivate you with all the loving and caring characters. I love that it was not the classic Hallmark kiss at the end the ending was just perfect and very different in a way. I would love to read more about some of the other characters in this wonderful story as they all gave me a feeling of having their own story to tell. I highly recommend this heart-warming romance.
Delaney Phillips works for her best friend Wyatt Andrews at his families business called “Cabins in the Pines”. A very rustic and loved family campground that has seen better days but is still so loved they all that work there. Delaney has to do something she is unsure if Wyatt will agree with but she has only had the business needs and the staff at the top of-of her motivation for this new idea. The Andrews family had always been there for her during her life and after her divorce, they were so supportive of her and her daughter.
“She felt the little glimmer of hope in her heart, sparked by the thought that he’d consider her plan, turn into something warm and affectionate that she had no business feeling for her best friend?
Wyatt Andrews inherited his families campground when his parents passed away tragically and his only wish is to keep the business running has his parents and grandparents ran it from the star. But he is almost running out of money and ideas to keep the doors open and his staff paid. His staff is more like family, as his aunt is his receptionist and his very best friend from his childhood is his number one employee. He would be lost without Delaney in his business and in this personal life as they both share their love of “Cabins in the Pines” from their childhood together. The new bypass in town has caused the slow decline in traffic to the campground and will the rundown of facilities how can they make it all work?
“You're telling me that you volunteered the campground as the a…a…a filming location for this TV show without telling me?”
A reality TV show “ABC’s of Business” is coming to the “Cabins in the Pines” but will it be for the better of the campground or will it seal the end that has been coming for a while know?
Will the show bring more changes than just the amenities of the campground?
Will Wyatt and Delaney finally face their true feelings.
“Delaney felt more for Wyatt than mere friendship, but she had no idea if he felt the same way. And she would never have the courage to find out.”
Wyatt’s friendship was too costly to find out and lose what they had already for the hope of anything more.
“She was starting to feel like the line between reality TV and reality was getting a little blurred.”
I received an ARC from the publisher through NetGalley. the opinions expressed in this review are my own opinions.

Love the location. Reality television tries to upset nature. A heart-warming romance and interesting business. Old friends and new. A delightful bit of escapism. Spoiler alert. Nice that the kiss doesn't end up on the last page as with Hallmark movies being the last scene.
