An excellent portrayal of a strong woman with the skills to survive on an island all alone when her husband, the lighthouse keeper, does not return. As her resources and strength are diminished, help arrives in the form of a shipwrecked slave who becomes her friend and so much more. Alone on the island, their world is safe, but everyone has to return to the mainland sometimes...
