Too fun! There are bright colorful pictures and the story is cute and unique.
A great story which encourages little ones to think about sharing and the benefits and extra fun it brings. Lovely illustrations and charming characters.
I had the chance to read a preview copy of the book thanks to NetGalley and the publishers.
Very nice story. Great illustrations. Read this with my grandchildren ages 4 & 6. The six year old read the book to us. The next time the 4 year old made up the story by looking at the pictures. I know we will read again.
This is a really cute story. Cute, colorful illustrations. Helpful, kind characters. Lots of different types of animals all getting along and working together. And a happy ending. Any toddler would love this story.
This is a great book to read to children!
I loved this book about a mouse who finds a fancy car but doesn’t know who it belongs to. He meets other animals along the way that join him in his search. There is a surprise ending when they return a hat they see blowing in the wind.
I thought the illustrations were wonderful. They are bright and fun. The animals are cute and the background colorful and not overdone.
The dialogue is to the point. It tells about animals helping others with their dilemma.
I received an ARC from Clavis Publishing through NetGalley in exchange for an honest opinion. This in no way affects my opinion or rating on this book.
My 2 year old enjoyed the animals and the car. I personally found it a little confusing and choppy but my son loved it!
Someone lost their car and a group of friends are out to help find the owner!
A quick read to share with a little one. The illustrations are bright and colorful! And the length is just right for our attention span.
Overall I found this book a perfect selection for my 18 month old grandchild.
This is a great book for young children, with colourful pictures. I read this book to my young grandson and he decided that the car belonged to me. Just because my car is red!
My thanks to Netgalley and the Publishers for my copy.
This sweet book was authored by the award-winning author of "Everyone is Yawning" Anita Bijsterbosch. This fun, simple story is about a little mouse who finds an abandoned car at the side of the road. Is it abandoned or lost he wonders? He takes it upon himself to find its rightful owner.
His curious animal friends join in the hunt to once again reinstate the car with its possessor. Whoever could be missing their car? Can the animal detectives solve the mystery?
This story is about owning, perseverance, friendship and sharing. The illustrations are clear, uncluttered and vibrant which will appeal to that targeted age group. This positive story teaches to never give up and that kindness reaps its rewards. I highly recommend this book.
What a Nice Car! is a fun children's book that my 3 year old and 5 year old both enjoyed and wanted me to re-read to them multiple times. The beautiful illustrations added to the wonderful message in the story of friendship and not giving up. Children are introduced to various animals that they should be familiar with in the story, which makes it more entertaining for them. I recommend this book for toddlers and children in preschool and kindergarten to enjoy with their parents.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Clavis Publishing through NetGalley and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.
Cute book with bright colourful pictures. It is about sharing among friends.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the eARC
This was a cute simple story for young children probably 5 and under. This book has cute pictures and a great message about sharing.
I love that there are discussion questions at the end for the reader to think about. For me, this story was too similar to many others that are already on the market. It had me thinking about other books that I have read similar to this, rather than focusing on a new concept of a children's story.
A mouse supposedly “finds” a car and takes off in it to find the owner. Along the way he meets up with a zoo’s worth of different animals, all of whom join him in this supposedly honorable quest.
There’s no mention that the best place to find a car’s owner is right where the car was found. The owner’s probably wondering what happened to it as they drive it further and further away.
The text is the same for every page, which no doubt works for a kid learning to read but will likely bore everyone else. Surprisingly, everyone lives happily ever after, watching the sunset.
The artwork looks a lot more minimal than most.
2.5 pushed up to 3/5
This is a simple, nicely illustrated picture book for young listeners. In it, Mouse is driving in a car that he has found. He picks up several friends along the way and they look for the car's owner. Meanwhile, mouse's hat blows off and is found by elephant whose car it is. All of the animals together then go for a ride.
This book emphasizes sharing and the niceness of doing things for others. While it has nothing unique to say, it is a fine book.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher. The opinions are my own.
This was a cute story of Mouse finding a car and trying to track down its owner while picking up a menagerie of new animal friends along the way. The illustrations are delightful, with bright bold colors and very pleasant characterizations.
But there was something about the simplicity of the text that just didn't do it for me - like just the first page confused me a bit because while it states that Mouse found a car, the illustration already shows him driving it like it is his? And I also felt the ending left something to be desired too, but it is hard to put my finger on what exactly it needs.
Had me and some buddies screaming with laughter! When read from an adults POV, the car is being stolen by a mouse, who then picks up various other critters and goes joyriding in an unknown persons car! Kind of like, "Oh! Look! an unattended car! I must take it and go around looking for the owner..."! They find the owner of the car at the end, who's sad (I wonder why???) ! We could not stop laughing! Could very well be an primer to Urban car stealing! ("Oh, sorry, officer, I didn't STEAL the car. It was just sitting there unattended and I took it to go look for it's owner." Sorry! Maybe something is lost in translation? I'd buy it as a gift for another adult as a joke! Illustrations were a hoot! Love, love, love this story! But not for littles!
Mouse has found a car and asks his friends to help him find the owner. This book is a super simple read with fun illustrations and a positive message about friendship in the end.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own - and well - my four year old daughters.
I am an avid reader of Christian fiction, and while browsing for appropriate books on NetGalley, I came across some appealing children's books. I immediately thought that this would be an interesting and innovative way to read to my four-year-old daughter. One of the childrens books available for request was What a Nice Car!
What a Nice Car! is a fun and colourful book. It takes us on a journey to finding the owner of a red car while meeting animal friends along the way.
Thank you Anita Bijsterbosch.
Adventures really aren't fun without friends. What a sweet book. Also, the artwork is absolutely gorgeous.
