Short, simple story with delightful illustrations. Apparently, elephant (we find out later) has misplaced his car. Mouse initially finds it. With the help of animal friends he finds along the way (after he gets in and drives the car—not exactly a realistic scenario), a discovery is made due to a hat blown off in the wind (that elephant catches as he is sitting on a wall). In the end, all live happily ever after as they take a drive to the sea together.

Little children love animals and this book has wonderful characters and illustrations, and has a good message. Although it says this book is for 3 years and up, for the content of friends and teamwork, my 2 year old loved it.

What a great story with wonderful illustrations! Mouse finds a car and with the help of his friends try to find the owner. The story teaches a lesson about what to do when you find something that does not belong to you. It is a great length for a new reader. My daughter really enjoyed reading this book with me.

A great story about sharing- what would you do if you found something that didn’t belong to you? Would you keep it for your own or work your hardest to find the owner. Also, great lessons about teamwork and how life is better with friends. Ideal for a younger crowd, my 7 year old wasn’t super into it. I would say for ages 3-5.

The book, What a Nice Car! is very cute. The story starts with a mouse finding a car and trying to figure out who it belongs to. Mouse's friends try to help as well and then mouse's hat blows away. He comes across a sad-looking elephant who catches his hat. Mouse wants to know why Elephant is so sad and it turns out that elephant lost his car.
Mouse leads Elephant back to the car and Elephant is happy again. He's excited and gets in his car to go off. He then realizes that going somewhere would be much more fun with his friends, so he invites them along as well.
They all enjoy their trip to the sea.
The book is cute, and talks about the importance of friends and the roles they can play. I'd recommend it for children ages 2-4.

A cute cumulative tale about a group of animal friends trying to figure whose car they have found. If you liked "Whose Hat is That?" and "Who Will Dance With Little Mouse?" you will enjoy What a Nice Car!
