I love the little bear. This illustrations are so cute. The story is cute too.
A cute book about a Little Bear who wants to grow up. He gets some interesting ideas from neighbours and relative. Illustrations are good.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the eARC.
So adorable! You will love reading this with your little, desperate to be big bears!
The gorgeous illustrations will make this an instant favourite.
I had the chance to read a preview copy of the book thanks to NetGalley and the publishers.
This is an adorable book! I will be buying a hard copy for my grandsons!
Little Bear doesn’t heed his parents’ advice to “Be patient” about growing up and instead decides to ask others for help. Neighbor Bear tells him to eat ice cream, Grandma Bear advises lemonade, Uncle Bear advocates bicycling, and Auntie Bear suggests painting. (Little Bear and his parents are polar bears, as are Uncle and Grandma Bear; Neighbor Bear and Auntie Bear have brown fur.)
Sometimes it is best to stay little!
Ice Cream!!!
What little kid doesn't want to read about ice cream and bears. :)
This is a very cute book about a bear who wants to grow faster than he currently is. He receives all kinds of (not helpful) advice from others and ultimately realizes that he can't grow any faster than he already is. It has lovely, colourful illustrations that are very pleasant to look at.
I loved the bits with lemonade and ice cream. Every kid wants to believe that eating things will help them grow. How many of us had parents that told us to eat green vegetables and carrots to grow big and strong? Now I wonder how many people still tell their kids that... (lol)
My only complaint here is that it is very short. Like so short you might have to read it five times to your child as it won't feel like it took any time at all. And while short is often better than too long for children's book, and a child could easily learn to read from this book; I still prefer children's books with a little bit more content.
Please note: I received an eARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is an honest and unbiased review.
A deliciously sweet and beautifully illustrated story.
A small bear wants to grow up faster and he asks for advice from other grown-up bears. Whimsical and cute, this book is a great way to link to conversations about what we want to be when we are older.
“Little Bear Wants to Grow” would make a wonderful addition to a family library. Rating: 5 Stars
Thank you to NetGalley and Clavis Publishing for the complimentary ARC. This is my honest and totally voluntary opinion.
Little Bear doesn’t want to wait to go up. He tried everything he is told would help him grow – ice cream, lemonade, bike riding and painting. Nothing works. Mommy and Daddy tell Little Bear that he grows a little bit everyday so it is not obvious. They show him that hugs make the waiting to be big better.
The illustrations are nice. They show cute, detailed animals with watercolor backgrounds. There are just enough words to propel the story with being overwhelming to a child.
This book is recommended for children who want to be big like mommy and daddy. It will be enjoyed.
I received an ARC from Clavis Publishing through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This in no way affects my opinion or rating of this book.
Simple, cute, fun. This story is of a little bear who just wants to grow. He asks friends and family what it will take to grow. Only at the end does he learn that every little thing helps a little grow bigger, just a little at a time.
I am sure my 2 year old niece and even my 7 year old nephew will love this book. It is an adorable book for toddlers! It is about a little bear who wants to grow big, and then learns he will grow only a little each day. Who wouldnt want a hug a day and grow too! I think little ones would really enjoy this book, and the illustrations are fabulous. I highly recommend for all toddlers and have in fact purchased for my niece.
I received a review copy of this ebook from Clavis Publishing and NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
Little Bear Wants to Grow is a really cute story about a young beer that wants to get bigger and fast. He spends a days asking the adults in his life for advice and he ends up eating a bunch of ice cream, painting pictures and doing other fun things even though nothing works.
This is a colorful story with colorful pages that were really entertaining. My son and I loved the illustration and all the fun things little bear did in hopes of growing!
This book was unmemorable to me. No interesting characters, story line, or art work. I felt the author could have dug deeper and created a more interesting story.
'Little Bear Wants to Grow' by Judith Koppens with illustrations by Suzanne Diederen is a picture book about being impatient to be bigger.
Little Bear wants to grow up. When his parents tell him to be patient, he decides to seek other advice. He is told that eating and drinking lots of something like ice cream or lemonade will do the trick, but somehow those things don't work. After trying many things, he learns that he is growing up a little bit every day.
Told with humor and warmth, this is a picture book with nice pictures and a lesson about patience. Also, it's fun to think about eating lots and lots of ice cream.

A sweet story about a little bear who wants to grow up as quickly as he can manage. He makes every effort to do so by doing things like learning to paint, drinking lemonade and riding his bike. Frustrated, he seeks the advice of his bear-family and learns that the only way to grow up is by growing up! A darling, family oriented story of being in a hurry to grow up, Little Bear Wants to Grow is perfect for very young readers, eager to grow themselves. My 3 year old loved it and we both adored the soft, colorful illustrations. Definitely a relatable, likeable tale.
This book is perfect for my two year old daughter who is enamored by cute, fuzzy creatures. I read this book to her and she smiled happily when she saw the Little Bear. From an adult's perspective, the book's illustrations are charming and colorful. I chose it for my daughter because of the cover and she's a two-year old, so lately I keep telling her she's a big girl now, especially because she just gave up her pacifier. This book covers the concept of "growing" for children in a sweet-mannered, simple way. It's perfect for toddlers who might be wondering why adult's keep talking about them growing up all the time.
My youngest (2 years old) loved this book. He kept saying bear and following along with the story. It has simple words he can repeat and the illustrations were fantastic. Overall we enjoyed this book and would recommend to friends.

Little Bear is impatient to grow up and rather than wait like his parents suggest, he decides to go out and ask people for help. Little Bear is given some peculiar advice along the way, from eating ice cream to painting. But nothing works and he returns to his parents feeling sad. Will they finally be able to explain to him how we grow?
There were many lovely spreads in which Little Bear tries many things to grow, such as eating ice-cream and he ends up covered in it! But my favourite spread was the one which glued the story together. Little Bear is back with his parents and they explain how we all grow.
This gently told story will put a smile on your face. The illustrations create lovely moments of humour, combined with a beautiful message that we don’t need to rush to grow up, we all grow a little every day.
I am very grateful to the publisher for providing me with an advanced digital copy via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.
Cute story with the most adorable illustrations! My daughter loved it and wanted to keep looking at the pictures after it was all done.
This delightful story begins:
"This is Little Bear.
Little Bear would love to grow up.
"Be patient, Little Bear," Mommy and Daddy Bear tell him.
But Little Bear doesn't want to wait.
He decides to ask for help."
From whom does he seek wise advice? Mmmmm....well of course, those in his close circle of aquaintances. His search for meaning leads him to Neighbour Bear, Grandma Bear, Uncle Bear and Auntie Bear. They all have wonderful suggestions that he willingly tries out, but alas, poor Little Bear doesn't grow. Oh my how sad the makes him.
My favourite make-you-grow suggestion?
"Grandma Bear says:
You grow from drinking lemonade."
"Little Bear drinks at least a hundred glasses of lemonade.
He has to pee a lot.
But Little Bear doesn't grow."
Gotta love Grandma. Lol! Can he find the answer to his dilemma? Luckily Little Bear's loving parents know exactly how to solve his problem.
The illustrations are simple, vibrant and fun. They are kid-friendly and definitely relatable. This book is a perfect bedtime story when served up with lots of hugs. I highly recommend this book.
Little bear asks everyone how to make him grow. While their answers are fun, silly, and delicious, his parents know best. The illustrations are beautiful and vibrant. I love all the different ice cream cones or lemonades. It would be a perfect chance to practice counting with your toddler. This is a super sweet, feel-good book.
This picture book is adorable! The illustrations are super cute, and the story is both sweet and age-appropriate. I can see children loving this story, especially all the different suggestions offered by Little Bear's neighbors and extended family. This is a good choice both for public libraries and for home libraries.
