I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book through the publisher via NetGalley. I’ve been waiting for Mark’s book and he was so worth the wait. Mark is the eldest and he’s in charge of the ranch, it’s his life. He’s over the relationships, hearts and flowers crap, no time for it, doesn’t want it. Mark may just change his mind after he sees Katelyn, she’s new in town and just happens to be the new event planner where James and Sophie are getting married. When these two meet there’s a definite spark between them, but everyone has a past and sometimes the past is better left in the past. Katelyn feels the pull towards Mark and isn’t going to sit by and let this hunk of a man slip through her fingers, she’s spunky, sassy and persistent, just what Mark needs. Such a great book and I can’t wait for the next one, highly recommend this book.
4*
Katelyn has just moved into the area leaving her safe boring beige life and has landed her dream job.
Mark is busy running the ranch he’s no time for anything else, so why does the events manager stir him?
Will she uncover the real Mark?
These books are standalone and have true endings but the characters are great I’m so pleased they are getting their own books.

Another great book in the series.
Riding Hard was a fantastic read. That pulled me in from the very start. Thanks to a story that was enthralling, entertaining and extremely engaging. Not to mention heartfelt, full of emotion, sweetness and heat. Plus, really great characters, including the main two Mark and Katelyn. And I loved how their romance developed and particularly how the hard and stood Mark blossomed as his relationship with Katelyn grew and deepened. Which is why I was so happy to see these two get the happy ending they deserve.
Would happily recommend.
I am loving these cowboy brothers and the ladies they fall for! Mark is the oldest, with the weight of the whole family on his shoulders. And he holds himself back from fully embracing all he has to give someone. Luckily, Katelyn isn't easily deterred. She sees him. These two are fireworks together, fierce and possessive and sweet. I really like the country, small town feel and the whole Bennett family. These can be read as a stand alone. I know there' is still a brother who needs his story told, but he has big shoes to fill, because I'm in love with Riding Hard.
Loved it! Mark Bennett has growling, grunts and dirty talk perfected. Along with being a stick in the mud just because he can. The man is wrapped oh so tight. Enter Katelynn who is present and totally accountable as the event planner for upcoming highly visible wedding and meets Mark. Well...this story takes off at a rip roaring pace and doesn't land until the very last page and guaranteed to make you lose all track of time because you just have to read that one more page. Mark and Katelynn were scorching together and likable characters. Well written and a great plot, Lauren yet another winner with this gem!
arc from NetGalley and publisher for an honest review
This was a brilliant story!
It was a really enjoyable read and I thought it had good detail.
It has a really good mix of characters and a really enjoyable storyline.
The story flowed very well and I had started and finished the book in just a few hours
Five stars from me for this one - very highly recommended!!
Steamy cowboy romance
Riding Hard is the 2nd book in Lauren Landish’s Bennett Boys Ranch series, but can easily be read as a stand alone.
Mark’s past baggage makes him feel unworthy of Katelyn which after awhile got to me. Because of this it’s a rocky road to their HEA. While both books are worth reading I enjoyed book 1, Buck Wild better but still look forward to reading Luke’s story.
I received an advance reader copy via Netgalley.
Mark and Katelyn have such chemistry from the moment they meet. I was pulled into the story and didn’t want to put it down. Katelyn is tired of living in a beige world and she’s the only one who sees Mark as a rainbow of colors. How heartbreaking to feel alone in the world and believe that no one understands you. It was nice to see them both grow as individuals and as a couple.
Unfortunately, I missed the first book in the series, but it’s not necessary to have read it in order to enjoy this one. Can’t wait for Lucas’ story.
Wowza! This book was phenomenal! One of the best I've read to date and certainly the best I've read so far this year. Words cannot even begin to describe how much I enjoyed this story. The chemistry between Mark and Katelyn was off the charts! This story was an intensely wild ride from start to finish. It's not often that I suffer from a book hangover but wow this one still has me reeling. I suspect there is a re-read in my not so distant future.
I loved Riding Hard, which is no surprise because I loved the first book in the series too. But Mark was so much more than I thought he would be. There was a depth to him, an internal struggle that not many authors can bring to life so realistically. Lauren Landish did that. I loved his quiet demeanor, it’s always the quiet ones who feel so much.
Katelyn was perfect for Mark in every way, even if he didn’t want to accept that at first. Not only their journey together, but Katelyn’s journey into a colorful world, and Mark’s journey to self acceptance, was beautiful.
Riding Hard by Lauren Landish a five-star read that will break you. This is the second novel in the Bennett Boys Ranch series and they just get better and better, this time it’s the turn of big brother Mark and he really is the big brother. The characters are great and well written you really do care about them, they become like friends, Katelyn is new to town and soon becomes one of the locals and someone you adore, and you need to bring more colour into her life. To show her how great life can be, it helps that she has a bog strong cowboy to help. It may be a story that we have come across before but done in a great way that will bring a freshness to the story and writing that will blow you away, the transformation of Mark is so well done that you will see him blossom and grow as you read. I know I can’t wait for Luke’s story; these cowboys give you all the feels.
Oh lord, this book. It was I-might-have-to-quit-reading-other-books-with-cowboys-because-it’s-that-phenomenal. My favourite book of the whole series and by Lauren Landish!! Some parts were laugh out loud funny. There is wit, irony, cleverness, romantic anticipation, tummy fluttering lust, longing and all the feels! This book is everything! Swoon-worthy, steamy and sexy, just couldn’t get enough and I have too, have too recommend to all book lovers out there as you don’t want to miss out on this book and series. You won’t regret it, I promise you that. Absolutely and totally recommend!! Wish I could give more stars as book deserves more.
While this is the second book in the Bennet Boys Ranch series it can be read as a complete standalone. I loved this book. Mark Bennet is swoon worthy! He is stoic, gruff, and all control with everything except for Katelyn. Katelyn breaks poor Mark’s self-control from the start and the chemistry is incendiary. Mark is fighting something we don’t completely understand, something more than just feeling the weight of responsibly for his family farm. Between his heart, daydreaming, and small breaks in resolve the man is fire. Katelyn, who has already proven herself to be a fighter and courageous also gets what she needs out of this relationship. There is nothing grey (blah) about their desires for life or love. That’s my favorite part of this book. Mark and Katelyn both learn and grow reaching that technicolor world we all dream of. Highly recommend this book for a hot Cowboy Ranch style romance.
First off, lets all appreciate a very grown up Jace Dean gracing the cover!
Ok, now that , that is done, I SO enjoyed this story. I had not read the previous book or books in this series and was afraid I would be lost, not at all. This is a connected standalone series, you will not feel you missed something by having not read the others.
Mark, is the oldest and most mysterious of the Bennett brothers. Never getting serious with anyone and running the families ranch. His focus is ranch and family, that is it. He makes no time for a social life because Mark, harbors desires that have come back to haunt him. He stays busy to keep those desires at bay. Little did he know he would literally knock Katelyn Johnson, off her feet.
Katelyn, is new to town and looking for something completely new! Moving to a new town, starting a new job and knowing absolutely no one, makes everyday a new exciting adventure. Not looking for love, Katelyn is thrown for a loop when Mark Bennett, walks into her office sending her tumbling .
I found Mark to be a bit frustrating at times not annoyingly so, just a little. His desires often wanted to get the best of him when it comes to Katelyn, but he resists.
Their chemistry is off the charts and they BOTH are trying to do the right thing by not blurring the lines.
This is typical wonderful Lauren Landish, the writing is fantastic and the characters are lovable and totally enjoyable..
I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion. This book will not disappoint you. It is all kinds of hot, steamy, and heartfelt.
I fall for the strong silent type every time and this book definitely has the strong silent type in Mark. Katelyn is just the right woman to bring out the best in Mark. He can open up to her and share his darkest secrets.
Well done by this author and 4.5 stars in this book.
Riding Hard by Lauren Landish is everything you would expect from her in an outstanding romance! It has not only romance but a little kink to this one as well! Bennett Boys Ranch series just keeps getting better with each book, which are standalones. I can’t wait for the next one. I loved it and would definitely recommend it. I am voluntarily leaving my honest review after reading this arc.
3 1/2 Star Review.....
If you’re anything like me, you appreciate starting a series at the beginning, and in this case it definitely helps as Riding Hard brings together Mark (the eldest Bennett) and Katelyn, the Wedding Planner for Sophie and James` impending nuptials.
Mark and Katelyn have strong chemistry, but Mark continues to fight the attraction, as he believes he is a bad investment due to the responsibilities and hours devoted to running his farm. Katelyn is definitely the pursuer in this romance, as she refuses to give up on this pig-headed, obstinate man. I did like the story, but wondered whether I would have persisted in chasing such an ornery individual.
This is the second book in this series and this one is about Mark the oldest brother. Mark is a very serious guy who does not smile a lot. He is very withdrawn and mostly keeps to himself. Katelyn is new to town. She is just out of a long relationship and she is trying to make changes in her life. She is tired of living life boring she wants excitement and color in her life. I have to say that when these two meet that you can tell that there is something between them. As time goes by and they keep bumping into to each other the chemistry becomes hot. It is not long before they both give in to what they both want and need from each other. This relationship is not all roses and sun shine. There is misunderstanding and drama following these two around every where. It just seems that they get happy and something comes between them. I absolutely loved this book and all the drama that came with it. I loved getting to see and find out more about what happened to the characters in the first book. I cannot wait to see who Luke falls for in the next book. I am sure that it will be just as amazing as this one. Thanks Net Galley. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.
The book centers around Katelyn Johnson and Mark Bennett. Mark is the oldest of the Bennett brothers, and the one in charge of their ranch. He has secrets and has already been hurt in matters of the heart. Katelyn is new in town with a new job as an event planner. Her first event is Mark’s bother’s wedding. The moment these two meet the attraction is instantaneous.
When describing them I would say Mark is dark and grumpy while Katelyn is sweet vanilla. A trait she is anxious to change. For me this push and pull was exhausting.
I have to confess that I am not a fan of books where the main characters POVs are constantly shifting throughout the story. Thus in my view, it affected the continuity of the plot.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
*I received a copy of Riding Hard from Net Galley and Montlake Romance in exchange for a voluntary review. This are my opinions and not solicited in any way.**
Riding Hard by Lauren Landish is the second book in her Bennett Boys Ranch series. This is Mark (who's the eldest) and Katelyn's story which I'd rate as a solid 4 stars. There is a bit of BDSM so just a small warning but not enough for a erotica rating. Again I loved Mama Lou the matriarch of the family and Katelyn's assistant extraordinaire Marcy who's awesome with advice.
Mark Bennett thinks that he'll never find a woman who'll love him after rejection from a former girlfriend. But he's never met Katelyn the new girl in town and events planner at the Mountain Spirit Hotel and resort. Oh did I mention she's the event planner for Sophie and James's upcoming wedding? Mark is used to being the rock and now that he's running the ranch life is steady but when he meets Katelyn could she be the one who'll change he mind? How will she react to his kinky needs?
Katelyn Johnson broke from the boyfriend in Idaho of a decade and her rather beige life. As the new events planner for the resort she's excited to help make every one be a success. When she meets Mark Bennett at the resort and who helps her convince a rather amorous cowboy at Hank's introduce her to a life beyond beige and vanilla. Will she be the next Bennett bride? Will Mark finally tell Katelyn about his hidden fears of being rejected again?
