This is a fun shifter paranormal romance. I really like the chemistry between Ryan and Frankie. They were easy to root for. Lyons did a great job with the smutty scenes in this one. Tasteful and sexy at the same time.
The mystery with the pack was a really interesting story as well. It gave the sense of urgency without being over the top to me.
All in all, an enjoyable read! I would recommend it if you like Paranormal Romance!

I have enjoyed this entire series. I recommend reading the books in order.

In this book the daughter of the wolf alpha, Frankie, starts working with Ryan who is a cop and a bear shifter. Both have reasons not to trust anyone and try to take care of everything on their own. They quickly learn that they need each other to survive and stop the Detroit flu.

I was very excited that Ryan got his own book. He is introduced in "Alpha Unleashed" and I have wanted to know more about him. Curiosity satisfied!

I have enjoyed every single book in this series, especially the last three. Lyons digs a lot deeper into the concept of fated mates than the silly/funny series name implies. Her writing is clear, concise and takes your brain on a journey that sparks the imagination. For PNR fans, this is a must read - a new and unique spin on shifters that should not be missed. 4.5 stars

I enjoyed reading this book very much. Kathy Lyons crafts a refreshing shifter tale of romance against a complex background of lies, fear and misunderstanding. Her characters are warm and full of unexpected surprises. I like this series! Heartily recommended.

Taming Her Mate by Kathy Lyons

7th book in the Bear shifter series and series wrap up.
This last trilogy of books had the city of Detroit under lockdown and drinking bottled water only. It wasn’t just the shifters, but the entire population in danger.
Bears, wolves and hybrid battle for territory and domination.
In this book, the daughter of the wolf alpha teams up with a bear shifter cop try to mitigate the damages and the two end up working very closely together.

This is best read as part of the set and in order.

Fast paced, thrilling and tense at times, this romance is the ultimate in a diverse couple.
Mostly dark with smidges of humor.

Excerpt showing a bit of humor for the wolf and bear shifter couple:
“Am I in trouble?” she asked, trying to keep her voice light despite the butterflies in her stomach.
“Depends on your answers.” He did a mock glower, pointed his fork at her, and said with a really bad accent, “I have ways to make you talk.”
“Hit me with your best shot, bear,” she said with a wolfish grin.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley. I also purchased a copy to keep.

Frankie is a wolf shifter and believes her brother is the cause of the flu outbreak happen in their city. Ryan is a bear shifter and a cop. He is trying to find the culprits that are tainting the water with the flu virus. It has killed many and makes shifters more aggressive and dangerous. Frankie and Ryan team up to find the remaining serum and stop it from being put in the water.
Excellent story with action and sex. Can a wolf and bear be mates and can they stop the flu from spreading even more?

Thanks to the publisher for an ARC to read and give my honest opinion.

What started out as a slow ride actually turned out to be a great book! In this Grizzlies gone wild romance, this bear falls for a wolf in an insane wolf pack. Detective Ryan Kennedy has eyes for Frankie Wolf even though he has enough problems right now, but after she helps keep him alive, he helps battle her crazy kin. Someone is poisoning the water supply with a drug that exposes shifters who were latent shifters. Frankie's brother has gone insane and only her and Ryan can stop the madness.
What did I like? The chemistry between Frankie and Ryan is smoldering until someone pours gasoline on the flame. I truly enjoyed the story even though it took a little bit to get into, the ending was great!

Would I buy this book? Yes, that's one sexy cover and reading this in the store I would have definitely bought it. Recommending though is different. If your looking for fast paced...I didn't feel that here. Its a slow building story and a bit difficult at first but I still gave it four stars because it picked up great and was enjoyable. Otherwise it didn't suck me in I had to work at it.

Thoughts for the author? My first of this series, but I enjoyed it. Would definitely ARC read for her again. Thanks so much for the ARC.

Sexy and engaging, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Frankie is a wolf shifter that never shifted until she was exposed to the serum activating the shifter genes, leaving her as a half breed. Ryan is a bear shifter cop investigating the serum creating havoc in the city. When they end up working together, their animals seem to speak to each other.

I particularly enjoyed the wolf/bear paring as it is different from most shifter novels. The author created characters that I cared about and made me feel invested in their story.

If you enjoy the genre, you will love this book. While this is a stand alone novel, you will enjoy it so much more if you've read the prior books in the series. The author is on my must read authors' list.

Ryan is a bear shifter and the only one on the police force which makes doing his job tricky at times. Someone has put a deadly chemical in the city's water and he's trying to solve the mystery. Frankie, a wolf shifter, is the daughter of the alpha wolf and is determined to stop her brother who is responsible for dosing the water with a toxic treatment that makes shifters stronger and temporarily insane. Ryan and Frankie work together to stop the madness and discover that is it possible to form a mating bond with another species. Sweet suspenseful shifter romance.

Detective Ryan is a shifter and also a cop. He has a strong sense of duty and honor. The only thing making it hard for him is the fact that he is the only shifter on the police forces and human don't know shifters exist.

Following a hunch, it almost gets him killed but he meets Francesca Wolf. Normally bear shifters and wolf shifters don't play well together but they seem to come to an understanding.

Frankie needs help to right the wrongs of her brother and save her pack. She feels like she has to do this alone but she needs Detective Ryan to do his part. She has been his secret fan for many years and respects him as a police officer.

While there two are trying to take down her brother and fight the chemistry building between, they need to find a common ground because they both are coming to the table with baggage.

I really enjoyed this book.

3-3.5 Stars
This book was a pretty typical shifter romance, with a bit of instalove due to the shifter mate bond that the animals within recognize their other half and push the human side to accept the romance quicker than most. It also had the typical fighting between different shifter races; Bear and wolf, as well as a dominant struggle of wolf alphas. I was expecting all these things and thus wasn’t upset by the predictability as that’s really what you’re hoping for in a shifter romance. It’s part of a larger series but definitely can standalone, you don’t need to read the earlier books to understand what is going on. There may be some characters from the other books but again you don’t need to know them to read this story.

There was a little more action in that there was some illegal drug and poison plot lines thrown in so there were a lot of fights or plans of ‘how do we oust the one responsible?’ This action I found pretty entertaining throughout the book.

The reason I give this book 3/3.5 stars is that the character development wasn’t fully there. Again, I appreciate the instalove of shifter romances but then I appreciate when the characters still get to know each other in ways that the reader also gets to follow along. Taming Her Mate didn’t do this and instead we’re told about two or three times that they have long conversations into the night but we don’t actually get any of those conversations. I wish we had as then I would have enjoyed this book more.

Thank you Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
It looks like this book is a part of a series and it's the first time I'm reading this series so I was a little lost on the background stuff. The hero is a bear shifter and cop trying to stop a pack of wolves from contaminating the water. Frankie, our heroine, is the daughter of the alpha of the wolf pack and a hybrid. I liked her tough attitude and willingness to help even though she's standing on the wrong side. Just wished there was more chemistry between her and the hero. Got lost in all the action and the character development suffered.

First off, I want to mention this is the first book I've read in this series, and I see this is book 6. Must make a difference, since I struggled a bit to follow the shifter issues that the characters had. Also, this is just me, but I am not a fan of chemical warfare and drugging people to increase emotions and aggression. That being said, the main characters are the cop Ryan, a bear shifter, and Frankie, a wolf shifter, whose brother Raoul is poisoning the water and trying to start a war between the shifters. Never quite understood why, besides being evil or nuts, but that is the running theme throughout the story. The book has some merit, and kept my interest, but did tend to skim a bit in the middle. Would recommend, but suggest you check out the other books first. Would give 3.5.
