"Sweet on You" is a fiction book by Becky Wade. Sweet on You is the third book in the Bradford Sisters series. Britt and Zander have been best friends since they have been thirteen. Zander was raised by his uncle. When his uncle dies he has many questions surrounding his death. Zander and Britt unravel each question to solve the many mysteries of his death. Zander also tried to show his support for his aunt during this change with the loss of his uncle. In the meantime their friendship deepens and what will become of their friendship? Sweet on you was given to me by the publisher to read and review. I am not obligated to give a positive review. Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to read and review this wonderful book. I am sharing my review with Amazon, facebook , my blog.
I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley, this review is my personal opinion.
I enjoy so much reading this series, I had my own copy of the first two books. True to you and Falling for you, even Then came you. And on this book is Brit time to tell her story, from True to you we know a bit of her and also about Zander; however, is what happened after what makes this story so compelling.
Brit is the younger one of the Bradford sister, she is a chocolatier, determine, a bit stubborn and also is prompt to have short relationships, she is not looking for settle down yet. She has her own business, a family that loves her and a best friend that has been for her since she was fourteen years old. On the other hand, we have Zander, he has been struggling for thirteen years about his feeling for Britt, he doesn't want to damage their friendship and so he has been a good friend just keep his feeling hidden. He receives an amazing opportunity on travel and also his novel make him earn money and security he didn't have while growing up.
There's a mystery about a missing piece art and so they start working together to find answers, feelings got a bit deeper. The reasons are more complicated than it seems and I must say this element is unexpected, but it adds something new to Becky Wade books, you are wondering and making theories along reading the book.
There are several things I truly like about this book: 1. We cannot fool God, He always knows what really is going on our heart. 2. Is necessary to rely on Him our all. 3. Sometimes waiting and praying does not mean God has to answer in our time, waiting is part of life 4. In our struggle God is real and he always there with us
In this book, I can see how Becky Wade is growing on a new level as the author and going deeper, not only with the characters. But the message behind this.
I recommend this series, all go through the book we got a glimpse of Nora and Willow story. Is better to read each one. So, if you like a good Christian romance story, family center, faith, second chance, and a wonderful end.
Truly grateful to the publisher for the opportunity for the ARC of this book.
This book was so amazing! I have heard such great things about Becky Wade' s books but hadn't every picked one up until this one. I am so glad that I did, and now I will have to go back and read her previous books.
I loved how well written this book was. The faith and romance aspects were woven together so beautifully. Neither ever overpowered the other. The characters were easy to love and relate to. They felt so real!
I adored this book and would definitely recommend it.
Final in a series about the Bradford Sisters, Sweet on You, is a sweet summer read. Becky Wade always draws you in and makes you invest in her characters. I give this 4 stars and recommend it for your summer reading stack.
Youngest sister, Britt is in love but mostly with chocolate and cooking; however, she has a best friend Zander with whom she has a vested interest since they were 14. Zander left for a European Book Tour touting his first novel because his feelings for Britt had evolved to the point he couldn't handle just friends anymore. Now his uncle has died supposedly from a heart attack and he is back.
Zander and Britt have a close relationship, able to finish each others sentences, understanding each other's quirks. They value their friendship so much that they want to protect it at all cost; but, for Zander, the cost could be too much.
They find themselves in the middle of a mystery surrounding the death of Zander's uncle; and even stranger, the fact that he might have been leading a double life. Things escalate to a point of danger and to a point of no turning back in their relationship.
It's worth your time to read but I felt it a little anti-climatic at the end or maybe a lack of closure on so much angst and mystery which is unusual for this author--but that is just my impression--and it did have a HEA ending. It may not seem so to others. I still consider her a favorite author and highly recommend her to you.
Thanks to Bethany House Publishers for allowing me to read this ebook through Netgalley. This review is my expressed honest opinion.
This final novel in Becky Wade’s “Bradford Sisters” series was as sweet as I expected, but even more adventurous, swoony, and relatable to my own faith than I thought. I loved it SO MUCH.
Let’s start with talking about the dynamics and depth of the story. It presents a complex friendship between Britt and Zander, his unrequited romantic love for her and the beginnings of her attraction to him. Also, the sisterly and family relationships are natural and important at this point in all of their connectedness. The mystery and slightly suspenseful plot aspects add even more excitement to the story. All of this combines perfectly in a story that feels fully fleshed out and relatable.
The friendship-turned-romance is transformed at just the perfect pace. I was impatient, of course, for both Zander and Britt to be honest and open about their feelings. We readers have been waiting 3 whole books! When they FINALLY, were, it was all sparks and sweetness and chocolate. I especially loved Zander’s quiet strength and introverted ways. We need more heroes like him in the world.
There are SO MANY quotable lines in Sweet on You! and not just from Becky’s pen. From Zander, too. 😉 One of my favorites: “she {Britt} disrupted him”.
I also smiled over the references to music (Phillip Phillips) and books (like bookish Nora), all the chocolate and cooking bits. Oh, and John and Nora’s peach cobbler contributions (if you’ve read True to You, you know what I’m talking about!).
The faith elements were important to the story, too. They added a richness and a focus that was more than just a romance or a mystery to solve, but rather an essential part of the characters’ lives and a requirement for their own relationships to thrive. The bottom line here: all love requires both bravery and vulnerability. Giving over control. God requires that of us, too — our perfect trust in Him to carry us.
Thank you to Prism Book Tours and Netgalley for the review copy. This is my honest review.
I was so excited when I saw that this book was available to read and review; I have been checking pretty much every week and it finally was released to the advanced readers, and I read it over the weekend!
Becky Wade has been a long-time favorite author of mine; I loved her writings since her very first book came out, and I’ve been following and reading ever since.
Sweet on You is the third book in her “Bradford Sisters Romance” series, and probably my favorite so far. It follows the story of the youngest sister, Britt, and her best friend Zander, who has had a crush on her since meeting her as teenagers. Their story was so sweet and surprisingly full of adventure and mystery, which I had forgotten that Wade has been weaving into the books in this series. It kept my attention all the way through–I read it in one sitting Saturday morning; it took me five hours 😂. I would totally sit back down and read it through all over again too except I have so many other books lined up. The only thing I wish could have been different in the book would have been to have the characters have some sort of arc in their relationship with God; at the beginning of the book it mentioned that they kind of believed in God, but they didn’t really believe He was good or interested in their lives, and although they did pray when things got rough, there never really was a growth in their faith indicated. Usually, Wade does have the characters grow in their faith throughout the story, so I thought that was unusual for her. And perhaps them praying in the scary parts was supposed to be that “full circle, I believe in God now” thing, but I don’t remember there being anything mentioned after the ‘scary’ parts, so that’s why I’m mentioning it.Anyway, I would still totally recommend it, as I would anything of Wade’s, and I look forward to seeing what she comes out with next!

Becky Wade is truly in a masterclass of her own when it comes to writing sassy, sweet, and a little spicy contemporary romance. She has done it again in Sweet on You.
Whip-smart and snappy dialogue with a dash of sass and a dose of adorable populate the pages, keeping the tone fast-paced and emitting the easy, comfortable way that Britt & Zander have with each other. There’s a smile to be had on nearly every page, and when I reached the end I just wanted to hug the book & Zander & Britt & even Becky Wade herself!
The friends-to-more trope is one of my faves to read – primarily because that’s my own love story too. I spent 3 years telling my friends that E and I were just friends and we would never date. So I could totally relate to Britt early on in the story when she bemoans the fact that people just can’t accept that a man and woman could be just friends. As my grandma said to me, i say to Britt – “Famous last words”
And speaking of that “more” they are journeying toward… that friendship set on fire…. I have two things to say:
1. The combination of utter tenderness, pent-up longing, and sizzling chemistry between them is swoonilicious times 100.
2. HOLY GUACAMOLE… those kisses, y’all. Their first kiss had me holding my breath and searching for my fainting couch and swooning all twitterpated-like.
In the midst of searching for answers regarding the untimely death of Zander’s uncle, trying to get the latest truffle recipe just right & planning for a Bradford sister wedding, the author gives us delicious quotes that make me swoon in word-smithing-and-romantic-heart delight.
And tucked away between these pages is a poignant and achingly sweet message: we were never meant to rely on ourselves or other people – rely only on God because He never fails. And He is there to supply all the grace we need.
Bottom Line: I. LOVED. IT. I could stop right there but I’ll also mention that Wade achieves the perfect blend of suspense, romance, family and faith. And those kisses!!! I also loved the snippets of text message & passed notes, and phone calls that enhanced both the plot and the characters.
(I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.)
I’ve been keeping up with this series, and have enjoyed each book. I’ve been waiting for Britt and Zander’s story and I was not disappointed. This was a good storyline with some suspense added in that kept my attention all through the book.
I have to admit that I like Zander much, much more than I do Britt. Zander is a great example of someone who loves unconditionally and is willing to sacrifice for someone else’s happiness. Of the three sisters, Britt is the least likable. Her continual declaration of her depending only on herself, of not showing weakness, or allowing someone to help her got tiresome. She didn’t always seem to live what she professed to believe. But it all comes together in the end, and makes for very entertaining reading.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
After concideration i landed on 3.5 stars. Wich i can't give here or on GR. But i write that in the review.
It had very good and adorable pieces wich i throughly enjoyed, but there was this issuse through the book wich i wrinkled my nose at the Frank/James drama and quite frankly it was not needed...at least that's what i feel, sadly.
Sweet on You by Becky Wade is a cute love story with a dash of mystery. Britt and Zander are friends from high school. Zander has always loved Britt but Britt doesn't reciprocate the feelings. Zander over the period of time realizes that he is no more than a friend to Britt and leaves on a world tour. He comes back to his hometown after the mysterious demise of his uncle. He promises his aunt to find out the secret of his uncle's death.
Britt offers to help Zander with the investigation of his uncle's death. They grow close to each other but both refuse to risk their friendship. Britt is a very strong and independent character. Zander is a loving and patient boyfriend. The family of Britt is awesome. The entire setup of the town is very cute. The story is engaging and the characters are interesting. The mystery of a lost painting adds more flavor to the plot line. All in all, I enjoyed the story.
I always love Becky Wade's books and this one was no exception. Britt and Zander have been best friends for a long time and Zander wants more from the relationship than just friendship. Will Britt stay just friends with Zander where she believes she is safer or will she take the plunge? Full of romance with a side of mystery tossed in this is sure to please.
Warning: This novel will make you want to eat chocolate. And I’m not talking M&Ms or Hershey Kisses. You may as well visit your favorite candy shop and pick up some of the good stuff right now, before you begin reading. That’s because Britt, the heroine of the novel, owns a gourmet chocolate shop; her family and friends, including Zander, her longtime friend who’s had a longtime crush on her, get to taste-test her creations.
The best one of the trilogy by far.
This third book in the Bradford Sisters trilogy was by far my favorite. It is fast-paced while also being intriguing and thoughtful, with characters that I liked very much. I found Britt to be just human enough to be likeable, with a relatable struggle of figuring herself out in the wake of loss and seeing herself as the strong one. Zander, of course, is everyone's ideal loyal man. Their friendship is one for the ages.
On a side note...I’m so glad Christian fiction has improved as a genre over the years, in large part to Wade and her contemporaries.
Highly recommend.

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy to read for honest review.
Britt and Zander know how to do friendship. They are 100% there for each other, even in little ways they don't allow each other to see but are revealed to the reader in snippets from notes over the years. Unrequited love come to fruition is one of my favorite types of romance, and I've been looking forward to Zander finally getting his girl! I loved getting inside his head and experiencing the longing and yearning he has for Britt, while also fulfilling his own aspirations in the meantime. The mystery behind his uncle's hidden past and the suspense it brought to the plot was the perfect balance for the angst Britt and Zander are feeling and also providing them the opportunities to get closer together. For much of the book Britt did such a good job convincing herself that there was no romance between herself and Zander that I was convinced also, and had to make a major shift when things finally heat up between them. I would have done better with a bit more emotion or self-awareness from her leading into the new dimension of their relationship. They have such a deep connection otherwise, the chemistry that rises to the surface is just the icing on the cake. Britt and Zander each are developing their faith as well and I appreciated the insights and inspiration there. I love this series focused on a trio of sisters!
(I received a complimentary copy of the book; all opinions expressed in this review are my own)
I have absolutely loved this series and have loved each sister's story. I've been (im)patiently waiting for Britt's true love, because she's flirty and flighty, as the baby, but her best friend of over a decade is so perfect for her--and she doesn't seem to see it! She also harbors a bit of guilt and I desperately wanted her to find her happily ever after. But...I wasn't expecting the added bonus that I got.
Not only does this story deliver a sweet, budding, new romance, but the reader is treated to a real live mystery! This element weaves so well into the story, adding a dimension of suspense and drama that really flavors the chemistry wafting off the pages, and forms a truly delicious tale. I couldn't get enough!
I'm a huge fan of the friends-to-lover angle and this one is very well done. I loved how compatible these two friends are and their voices and interactions are charming, engaging, and swoony. This story was definitely worth the wait!
Content: mild romance; mild violence/moments of peril; mild+ religion elements.
Sweet, indeed! Ever since I first read Anne of Green Gables as a young girl, I’ve had an enormous soft spot for a hero who waits patiently for his heroine, never swerving from his love and devotion, even when the depth of his affection is unreturned. To say I have been anticipating Britt and Zander’s story since the beginning of this series is akin to saying Australia gets a bit warm in the summer. Add in Zander’s character in particular—intelligent, introspective, and romantic, with “Dickensian orphan eyes” and the dark, striking looks to pull the package together—and you have a perfectly delicious recipe for a romance, even if chocolate weren’t involved!
With such great heights of anticipation, the possibility of not meeting expectations is always high—unless Becky Wade is the author. And boy, does she deliver. Crackling romantic tension, totally swoon-worthy romance (words and actions!), an intriguing mystery that delivers a suspenseful climax, AND a personal breakthrough for Britt that packs an emotional punch. Her characters live and breathe on the page, and while she doesn’t write romantic comedy, you’ll always find characters or phrases that make you laugh—sometimes quite unexpectedly! I really don’t know what else you could ask for.
This whole series from Becky Wade represents the very best contemporary Christian romance has to offer in every aspect of the genre, from genuine, swoon-worthy romance all the way through to her characters’ faith journeys. I can’t wait to see where her next series takes us.
I have been waiting for Britt and Zander’s story and it was as good as I hoped.
Becky is such an excellent writer and I love she infuses a bit of mystery into this series.
My only complaint was there was a lot of backstory thrown in. The reader was often pulled out of the present and placed in the past for a good amount of time.
But aside from that I loved this story and how Becky brought Zander and Britt together.
A copy of this book was given to me. All opinions are my own.
Becky Wade has penned another winner with Sweet on You, the third and concluding novel in her Bradford Sisters series. This book focuses on the youngest Bradford sister, Britt. Britt is an independent woman with a few commitment issues — she wants to do things her way without having to answer to anyone. Her life has suited her so far, until her best friend Zander returns from a long trip. What results is the uncomfortable realization that there may be more to their longstanding friendship.
Zander is a hunky and sensitive main character that a reader can cheer for. I loved his loyalty and the way he tried to subdue his feelings for Britt. He is my favorite character from this novel. I liked Britt too, but Zander captured my heart. The third person narrative is interspersed with Zander’s journal entries and letters and notes from both characters. It is a very clever way to give a glimpse into the two’s true relationship. Britt and Zander face more than romantic dilemmas in the course of Sweet on You. As with the two previous books, there is a mystery to be solved. This time the characters encounter dangers that kept this reader turning the pages. Wade did a great job of balancing the romance with the suspense. Self-reliance is a big issue with Britt, and the author shows the dangers of relying too much on oneself and not enough on family, friends, and even God. The message is subtle, but makes a big impact.
One final note about Sweet on You — if you love chocolate, this book will stir your cravings! Britt is a chocolatier, and the novel details some of her experimental expertise. I wish I could have been in on the research for that aspect of the novel! 😉 As it was, I had to satisfy my sweet tooth with dark chocolate Kisses while reading. I thought they were fitting accompaniments to this wonderfully told contemporary romance.
Highly Recommended.
Audience: adults.
I just had to finish the stories of the three Bradford sisters and I’m so glad I did. Each book can stand on its own but they were all so good! Britt was such fun to visit with. So independent but I felt somewhat vulnerable too. And Zander, he had loved Britt since they were fourteen, but she just thought of them as best friends. He hung in there until one boyfriend too many of hers drove him on a “world tour”after his widely successful novel was published. He returns to attend his uncle’s funeral to find her between boyfriends. He decides to hang around for a while when a mystery concerning his uncle surfaces.
This novel had a little of everything. Mystery, suspense, danger, major theft, family, friendship chocolate and of course sweet romance. I highly recommend this for anyone since it has it all and if you’ve never tried a book by Becky Wade, let this one be it!
I received a complimentary ebook copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley but was not required to write a review.
I love the sisters. I love these books. I was simultaneously excited and giddy and sad, because the publication of this novel means the series is now over and there will be no more Bradford Sister stories. Side note: I am always happy to see a new Becky Wade book on the horizon but it incites some feelings of impending sadness because once I start to read it that means it will soon be over and then I'll have to wait who knows how long for another one. But I guess if she published books each month or whatever, I would never get anything done in life so it works out.
And we must go on. So here is my review of Britt's story:
Youngest sister Britt Bradford has been best friends with Zander Ford for oh, essentially forever. She has been his staunchly loyal friend, champion, partner in crime, and biggest fan since freshman year in high school. Zander's back story is rich and deep, and Britt is one of only a few in his heart's inner circle.
Adult Britt is an expert chocolatier with possible relationship commitment issues ;) and spends her days creating and running her chocolate shop, Sweet Art. Adult Zander is an author with a best selling book, which allowed him the opportunity to travel the world and fulfill some longtime dreams. He also needed to get away to really figure out what to do with his feelings for Britt. His trip is cut short when his uncle/adopted father dies unexpectedly, and he comes home to a mystery.
Britt refuses to consider/acknowledge/admit the possibility that Zander could love her as more than a friend (everyone else knows), because she is certain it would ruin their friendship....she can't live a moment without any connection to him, so she spends very little time being honest with herself. Also might Britt have some God trust issues? Zander is also unwilling to put it all out there because he has decided being her friend is better than having nothing, and the risk is too great.
The dialogue is witty, snappy, fun, meaningful, laugh out loud inducing...I could go on and on. The story is rich and deep with a satisfying ending. The mystery element is great and adds to the story.
I know I preach this all the time but you simply have to read all of the books in order. If you are considering adding this book to your TBR pile, get all three. Also download the prequel, "Then Came You: a Bradford Sisters Novella", and then binge read them in order. Go! Hurry up! Get them all!
