Nothing But Trouble is a fast easy read by Amy Andrews. It has romance, alpha male and an HEA but to me it was just ok. It didn't grab my attention and be one of the stories that you do not want to put down. It wasn't bad it just was not that memorable for me. I would read another book by this author but honestly it is not one I would rave about.

This is the story of Cecila (or CC as her friends call her) and Wade. Wade is a retired football player who is still enjoying the perks of being famous while CC is her personal assistant. Wade makes the messes, CC cleans them up.

Then, a family emergency calls Wade home and once CC sees Wade in a different environment, she starts to look at him differently.

One night changes everything and after that, there is no going back to the way things were.

My review:

I had a really hard time with how to rate this one...on the one hand, I ended up really liking the story but on the other hand, it took me almost the whole book to get to that point.

For starters, it is written in 3rd person which is not my favorite and when switching between so many characters, I sometimes found it hard to know who was doing the talking.

Second, there are a lot of characters in the book and I felt like none of them are given the time that they deserve in terms of character development. For example, Wades brother Wyatt needs his own book (I don’t know maybe there is one?) vs. just a brief couple of chapters.

Finally, Wade and CC...so many unanswered questions about them as characters. It felt like I was coming into their story in the middle of a series vs. just meeting them for the first time.

Overall, this one was just ok for me. A little bit more development into the main characters would have made it so much better in my opinion.

I laugh and smiled reading this book. Cecelia or as Wade calls her CC is an organizational whiz. She has kept his life on track and now is ready to fly the coop. Wade on the other hand is not ready to loose her, So off to his hometown. of Credence. This is the one place where Wade can be himself. Rancher by day and writer by afternoon. Between his parents, brother, the townspeople and the animals, you couldn't get enough of them. This also changed how CC and Wade felt about each other. It took CC leaving for each of them to figure out their feelings. I loved this book and can't wait to see who the author comes up with next.

I received an advance copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. I absolutely love this book. This is the first book I have read by Amy Andrews but it won’t be the last. The love story between Wade and CC was so realistic. There was humor. There was hotness. There were family and friends and the relationships that go with them. I sincerely hope there will be follow-up books to Nothing But Trouble. I really want to know what happens to ,the town of Credence and to the people who live there. I highly recommend this book.

I really, really adored the characters in this book. I went in expecting a cocky stuck up jock who is shown the error in his ways by a girl next door type. Well that wasn’t the case I loved Wade from the beginning and CC was a strong independent woman with sass. And their love story is a great one, one grown over time and did not feel at all forced. Amy Andrews was able to create a really feel good romance without all the mushy gushy stuff and I really loved the book.

Loved the concept of this and was really looking forward to getting stuck in. The characters are all great, I absolutely adore Ronnie. I did find it a little long winded and found myself skim reading some of it just to move on but generally it was an ok read. A little angst, a little sadness, a little love.

I was browsing through Net Galley and chanced upon this book... I read the blurb and got curious... This is my first time to read something from the author and thought I'd hit two birds with one stone—read a light romance and broaden my horizon when it comes to authors I haven't met yet.

This is a story about a PA, CC Morgan falling in love with her boss—Wade Carter. This isn't really a sports romance because Wade was already retired from being a quarterback for the Broncos for about three years now...

You know that saying "You don't know what you got until it's gone"? Well this is that story basically in a nutshell... Wade was so used to having CC around that he hadn't realized she has become a vital part of his life in the last six years she has worked for him... this and more.

It was a slow-burn but I enjoyed the story nonetheless... I would've suggested that Wade should've woke-up a wee bit sooner... like somewhere in the middle, because I felt like CC was alone in her feelings and he was just utterly clueless for the most part of the story—well I guess most men are, lol.

It's sweet, funny and unique... It's a fun and easy read... something you'd wanna read while hanging out in a coffeeshop or at the park... If you're a fan of Lauren Blakely, Winter Renshaw and Rachel Van Dyken, then this is the book to pick up next.

A delightful, and eye opening, look at the intricacies of fallen in love with the lest expected individual. Both of the main characters are moving forward with their individual lives when they are thrown even more together owing to an outside unexpected source. Having been together, in a professional relationship, for five years this unexpected turn throws them together in a more personal relationship. Like peeling an onion each begins to learn more about the other's personal lives. Before long, that dreaded three letter word (sex) raises its head. The question then arises as to whether either of the parties will be able to admit their true feelings for each other. If you like, and appreciate, sassy modern love stories this book should be on top, or very near to, your must read list.

I enjoyed this story and was hard pressed to put it aside at the end of the day. I just wanted to read 1 more chapter.

I finished this one, though I almost DNF it a few times and it took a while to finish the book. I'm having a hard time figuring out why I wasn't overly engaged with this story. I liked the secondary characters and they provided some comedic relief, though there felt like there was a lot of set up for the next book in the series. I think either I wasn't really in the mood for this book, or that the H&h just didn't click with me. Highly entertaining. Fun. Romantic. Quirky. I loved this story. From beginning to end it was just wonderful.
I hadn't read this author before this book but I'm off to search for more.

I usually like Amy Andrews books, but this just fell really flat for me. It's maybe more of a slow burn than I expected, and there's just too much going on between the two characters. CC's job as his literally 24 hour a day full time assistant is bizarre, and there's not really any reason given for why he'd need to be that controlling of her life. Her urge to leave and go back home to California seems reasonable, but then she doesn't actually do it. Their romance was completely overwhelmed by the small town shenanigans. This felt sort of like it was trying to be a sort of throwback/homage to books like Heaven Texas by SEP or other old-school romances, but in this day and age, it just seemed strange and I didn't like it.

The whole entire plot around his small Colorado town, with them bringing in busloads full of women was just never going to be my jam, so take that with a grain of salt I guess. If you like books set in white small town America, maybe this will seem charming instead of claustrophobic. Also, considering that this book is set in Colorado, a Western state, the very strange lionizing of the Confederacy was just strange and off-putting and honestly borderline offensive. What exactly is going on here? The hero's middle name is Rhett, he is in love with a house that is basically a Southern plantation style gothic monster? It was just yucky. Add the all white town, the football player hero, the heroic farming family... I really don't need all that MAGA-type nonsense in my romances--especially by an Australian author.

The romance was too slow of a burn, I didn't really understand the switch from boss/friend to lover and the entire plot was overwhelmed by the "plucky small town is trying to come back".

I’m into double figures when it comes to the number of books I’ve read by Amy Andrews and me being the lover I am of small town romances, there was no stopping me from clicking this.

“Was there such a thing as farmer porn?”

Sexy former NFL players/farmers can only bring joy to the world as can independent sassy women and Nothing but Trouble brings us that but it just didn’t hit the heights I was hoping for. The overall storyline was sound enough with a fun bunch of characters, however I have to be honest, you could have shaved a third off the length to no real detriment and that fell largely on CC and Wade’s shoulders as they danced around one another which sadly became tiresome.

“She was five Super Bowl rings. An eighty yard Hail Mary. And he didn’t know how to win her over.”

But there are cute baby piggies, a sweet—albeit very insta and closed-door—side romance involving Wade’s shyer older brother, amusing banter courtesy of his family and friends, and a raft of quirky vocal residents all determined to do their bit in encouraging more women to make Credence their home. I simply found it too long and CC and Wade’s romance too slow off the mark to become entirely invested in on this occasion.

Nothing But Trouble is such a sweet book and i really liked all the characters except Wade's brother who even though is really sweet and shy just kind of got on my nerves (that's just my opinion).
Up until like 70% was good everything after just felt very rushed.

I can think of a better way to describe this book than romantic!

CC is such a strong female character and knows exactly what she wants and knows she will only get it through hard work and dedication. Wade is a playboy for all intense and purposes and he get what he want because of who he is alone. But what if what you really want isn’t just what you dream it to be? What if it’s someone you never thought in a million years you would be interested in......

This book feel like Jill Shavis had a twin sister. I loved every minute of it!

And thank God that Amy Andrews is a genius! It’s not just one couple story in this book. Hearing Wyatt, Wade’s brother! His story is just as compelling....granted I wish he had his won book so we could get a more in-depth look, but all the same amazing!

I’m in love with everything in thei book....even the animals. Lucky Girl!

Loved, loved, loved this book. CC had spunk and character and Wade had more depth than I was expecting considering his fame. The side characters and town were hilarious; I can't wait to read more by this author.

This was the first book I have read by Amy Andrews and I am so pleased I got the opportunity. CC is an extremely organized PA to Wade Carter, a very successful, if retired Quarterback. Everything Wade needs, is available to him with just a text or email to CC, that's assuming that she hasn't already thought of it already. When Wade's dad needs surgery, Wade decides to go back home to Credence to help out on the family ranch. And he wants CC to go with him. Without the big city distractions, Wade is a different man and CC finds herself having different feelings for her boss, but that is a line that can't be crossed. This book was well written, the plot developed at a speed that kept you turning the page, the characters were likeable and relatable, the spinoff subplots interwoven throughout the book added to the story, but most importantly the story engaged you and made you want happiness for the characters. Would definitely recommend this book.

Nothing But Trouble by Amy Andrews is the first book in her Credence, Colorado series (Please say yes) I hope that Drew, Arlo and of course Wyatt and his lady love. The premise of having single women come to a town for a week-end to find a lonely bachelor has been on the news plus having grown up in a small town of farmers I wonder why other towns haven't done it. Besides are you going to tell Wade's Mama no? I didn't think so.

CC has been Wade's PA for almost six years and even though it seems that she hold his hand by keeping him supplied with Nerds and of course condoms she can't wait for the next 3 months to fly by. She has enough money saved to buy a beach house in California but with news of Wade's father needing surgery has her packing up both of them to live in a house that looks like Tara from Gone with the Wind. Throw in a piglet named Wilburta and George a Australian shepherd who adores CC and you have the makings of a love story. Until she suddenly realizes that dang Wade suddenly in in her sex dreams but will he realize that he's in love with her before it's too late?

Wade is a retired football quarterback from Denver who goes through women like water and leaves CC to explain to them that they were just a blip on the road of life. She keeps him supplied with Willy Wonka Nerds and emergency supply of condoms. He doesn't hesitate to go help out his dad and brother after a health scare. I loved how his high school friends all give him advice when he's clueless as to why CC has left him plus hopefully there will be more of the bachelors of Credence finding their loves in future books.

I'd wholeheartedly give Nothing but Trouble 4.8 stars and have to say I only wanted to tell Wade Really??? three or four times.

Nothing But Trouble is absolutely delightful and delicious and funny and not to be missed! Retired QB, Wade returns to his small hometown to help with the family pig farm, and hopefully write his biography. His 5.5 years PA, CC, totally burned out from dealing with Wade’s 24/7 demands and the crying women he’d broken up with, had been planning to quit before Wade’s dad needed a pacemaker. Now she finds herself living in Wade’s small town in a replica of Tara for the next three months and somehow being in that small town brings changes in their relationship. The author has created an interesting cast of characters that truly come to life as the story progresses. I enjoyed every minute spent reading. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book. Highly recommend.
