WOW WOW WOW Michele Campbell has done it again! Another thriller!! I did not guess this ending! In this book, you have no idea who is telling the truth and who is the psycho! Who will you end up rooting for?? I see this book being on the Bestseller list!

This was a nice thriller that kept me going, but not a deep read. I would recommend it to people looking for a good vacation read.

Starts off great. We are introduced to characters, we think we have the basic lay of the land. Then we start to realize something is off and the hunt for the truth is on. It is easy to get invested in the mystery, the only problem is staying invested. The pace was great until about the middle where it starts to slow down and things become more of a slog and less exciting. Worth it in the end, though a little less exposition would have sufficed.

Overall, felt long, but is a good mystery to add to your list.

Absolute perfection! I was guessing up to the very end. I loved the fact that was written from two points of view with an unreliable narrator. Such a perfect summer thriller!

Will edit for full review closer to pub date.

My favorite angle of Michele Campbell’s new book “A Stranger on the Beach” is the alternating versions of events between rich and beautiful Caroline and her one-night-stand boy-toy ex-con Aiden. At first, I kept flipping back a few pages to see if I was remembering it wrong. When I finally caught on, I was hooked. Their perspectives are completely alien to each other. To the point that one or the other is terribly unstable. But which one is sane, therefore in great danger? They both have some obvious personality flaws.
Caroline has just completed building the home of her dreams on the bluff over the beach. Nothing was spared during construction and nothing was left to chance at her housewarming party. But she hadn’t planned on a Russian floozy chasing her husband in and ruining the evening along with their marriage’s reputation. It’s nothing that can’t be fixed by a visit to the bar and a flirtatious swing with the young cute bartender, right? Let the roller coaster ride begin!
This is one of those books you’ll continue to read way past your bedtime! After reading this, then reading the author’s bio (move over J. Grisham, you’ve been warned), I have to read her two earlier books. I’m not sure how they got past me, but Ms. Campbell is a favorite now!
(I received an advance copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an unbiased review. Thanks so much to Jordan at St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for making it available.)

“A Stranger on the Beach” is a thriller with an unreliable narrator. The question is, which of the two main characters telling their stories is it? It was a little reminiscent of “Gone Girl” in the way it made me shift my alliance to the characters narrating each chapter - I went from thinking one character was a victim and the other a villain and then it would switch and then switch again. Michele Campbell did a good job of keeping you guessing as to who was the crazy one until the end.

An idyllic seaside setting. Passion. Intrigue. Murder. All can be found in A Stranger on the Beach.

When Caroline first lays eyes on Aidan, she thinks he is casing her beautiful seaside home. When she sees him again at a local watering hole after her husband embarrassed her by having his mistress show up at a party at their home, she drinks too much and makes a decision that will prove to be very troubling. But for whom? You need a seat belt while reading this book because it is full of enough twists and turns that it will make your head spin. Just when you think you have it all figured out, you are sent spinning again. And again.

I felt like this was a solid 3 -3.5 star book until the end. The ending definitely catapulted it to 4 stars. It was a very good read.

A STRANGER ON THE BEACH by Michele Campbell is a gripping suspense thriller that kept me guessing right up until the shocking ending. The story is told from the alternating perspectives of Caroline Stark, a wealthy city woman with a fabulous mansion out on the beach and Aidan Callahan, a handsome “townie” with a questionable past and a big chip on his shoulder. Through their separate eyes, the reader learns of their unlikely meeting and what transpires between them from then on. There is greed, envy, lies and betrayal throughout and you never know who to believe as the twists and turns keep coming at a rapid pace. The dark and manipulative plot had me flipping the pages to see how the story would end. I enjoyed this twisty domestic drama and look forward to reading more from Michele Campbell in the future. Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the chance to read an early copy.

I absolutely LOVED this book! Every book Michele writes she completely knocks it out of the park. This was a real game of psychological cat and mouse and I never knew which way it was going to go. It kept me on my toes and the ending blew me away. A full review will be on my blog (www.whatamydid.com) soon but I won’t stop recommending this for months to come. Perfect beach thriller

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This was a great thriller. Caroline thinks her marriage is over and ends up having a one night stand with Aidan. The question is, who is lying? Compelling, suspenseful and at times has dropping. An incredible story!

I was very excited to read this book . I enjoyed the way it was written from the perspective of 2 characters, which were very different at times. There were lots of twists and turns that had me guessing the whole way through as to how was being truthful. This was my first experience with this author but I will be reading more.
Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book and review.

3.5 stars rounded up
I almost stopped reading this book a quarter if the way in. I was extremely annoyed at how Carolyn and Jason mysteriously split. Then she sought out Jason and they miraculously reconciled without going into detail. I decided to read the rest of the book and can understand with the ending why it may have been like this. I would have liked that detail of the story expanded on. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC!

This grabbed my attention from the very beginning and I was sucked in, but about half way in I got bored. Aidan's character was capital Crazy! and the whole way through you are wondering what Jason really is up to, but it just fell a little flat for me. Would still recommend.

Michele Campbell's latest novel, A Stranger on the Beach, is another suspenseful effort that makes for a great beach read. Caroline Stark seems to have it all-a beautiful new mansion on the beach in an exclusive New York community, attractive and successful husband, glamorous friends and a noticeable beauty. A chance meeting on the beach one day with hot, sexy and troubled local Aidan Callahan proves life altering for both Caroline and Aidan.

When Caroline is humiliated by her husband at her own house-warming party she embarks on a dangerous tryst with Aidan who wants more than what Lynn can offer. Rejected, Aidan continues to follow Caroline who is growing more and more frightened. Caroline's marriage is falling apart, her money is gone and Aidan, a stranger, is suddenly everywhere.

During a dangerous storm, someone ends up dead and the reader is led on a game of cat and mouse. This is part of the book picks up pace from what is a slower beginning. Caroline and Aidan are not necessarily very likeable people but are well developed by Campbell.

Told from alternating view-points I found myself changing my mind back and forth-just who is the unstable stranger on the beach? Who is lying and why? How dangerous is Aiden? These questions and more will keep readers engaged throughout Campbell's newest release.

A riveting novel of a woman and a man. What is fiction and what is truth? How can one tell between the lies and confusion? A woman in the throughs of a messy relationship seeks out the comfort of a young man, but is he troubled ..or ..is ..she?
This book kept me enthralled til the very end.

I really really wanted to love this book. Like really really wanted to love it.

This one fell so flat I couldn't even finish it. I got the ARC and was so excited! I dropped everything to start it. Bleh... I wasn't invested in any of the characters, I hated the plot line (so overdone) and I just wanted to get to the end so I could stop reading it. I got to 50% and abandonded it!

I enjoyed her last two books, they were so good. They were not my usual genre and I still enjoyed them. So sad this one just didn't do it for me.

This was a non stop read book for me! I was surprised at how quickly I was able to pour myself into this book. I didn't want it to end. Another thriller with an ending you will not see coming! Seriously a must read this year.

After reading "She Was the Quiet One" by Michelle Campbell, I was excited to read more by her, and she did not disappoint with "A Stranger on the Beach". Told from different points of view, "A Stranger on the Beach" is the story of Caroline, who has an affair with, the much younger, Aiden, the local bartender who lives near her beach-house, after she finds out her husband is having an affair at their house-warming party. After their night together, Aiden seems to be obsessed with Caroline, to the point of being threatening. Though as you read on, and the story shifts back-and-forth between Caroline's point-of-view and Aiden's, you find yourself questioning who is the reliable narrator and who is telling the truth, as their versions of the same events seem to be quite at odds. It was hard to put this book down, as it sucked you into the plot from the beginning! Highly recommend!

Thanks to St Martin's Press, and Net Galley, for providing me with an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was fortunate enough to be gifted an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley and St. Martin's Press. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This book was really freaking good. Well written, suspenseful, and unreliable narrators that had me questioning whose story I actually believed. The perfect recipe for a psychological thriller.

While the recipe was the same, the ingredients were original and engaging. I hereby nominate it for your go-to psychological thriller beach read this summer!

This novel seemed that it would be a compelling mystery. However, I thought the mystery was predictable and have been done before. I also found this to be repetitive. However, I recommend this for those that like Paula Hawkins and J. P. Delaney.
