This book brings back the werewolves that helped Lex out previously with the sandworm. They need her help to find a couple of missing pack members. What Lex discovers takes her on another adventure that leads her out of her comfort zone and an encounter with an old enemy. Get this book to find out what happens. You won't regret it.

I loved this book - loads of action, a little on the romance and full of revenge! Lex Luther is the resident boundary witch of Boulder working for the vampire queen of the city and friends with two of the younger witches of the local clan. Her niece is a null and she will do anything to protect her, and this time she may have to do something she might regret to keep that promise.

When two werewolves come knocking on her door to call in a favour, she feels obligated to help, even with Maven's permission. Two of their pack have disappeared and the vampires can't help with not being able to go out in the day and all that, so it falls to Lex and Simon, one of her witch friends to help out. What they find, triggers a cataclysmic spiral of events, with someone from the past trying to get their revenge on the people that spurned them. There was lots of back stabbing, but at the same time, lots of support from various people in trying to help Lex get to the end of this problem!

I like Lex, but sometimes I think she forgets how strong a witch she really is. She just needs to tap into her powers a bit more to find out what she really is capable of, but unfortunately for her, there's not many boundary witches around that can help her with that!

One more to read in this series and I hope it a fantastic ending to it all!

The fourth book in the series, Boundary Broken is a magical book about Lex Luther and Scarlett Bernard.

Description: Years ago, boundary witch Allison “Lex” Luther made a promise to an alpha werewolf. Now, just when the supernatural community in Colorado is enjoying a period of hard-won peace, the alpha turns up at Lex’s door to call in his marker. Two of his pack members have disappeared in the Colorado sand dunes, and he needs safe passage to hunt for them. With her friend Simon Pellar along for backup, Lex ventures into the dunes to search for the missing couple…but what they find is only the opening move in an ambitious assault against those who hold power in the Colorado Old World. An old enemy has returned to tear their peace apart, and Lex is soon embroiled in politics she doesn’t understand, from a time before she had magic. To save her friends and her way of life, Lex will have to cross every line she’s drawn since learning what she is—and it may still be too late

One of the great things about this book is it keeps you guessing until the very end. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters A must read.

I was provided this book for free of charge in exchange for my honest opinion. I give this a 5 Star.

It had been a long time since I'd read a book in this series and I honestly didn't remember any of the characters or story lines when I started this one. I quickly caught up and enjoyed Lex's world and this story. Hope there isn't as much time until the next book.

After a diet of all mysteries, it was nice to get back to some urban fantasy.

I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

E-book/Rural Fantasy: I love the world that Melissa Olson has invented and I enjoy reading the plights of Lex Luther and Scarlett Bernard. I want to thank NetGalley for letting me have an advanced copy of this book and letting me in the world of vampires and she-wolves. This is a Lex book. Our heroine starts off sucked into supernatural politics, again. She is a veteran and a very tough cookie without the baggage that Anita Blake hauls around. Since the author writes her books in three book arcs, there is only a small cliffhanger at the end. Some or our favorites like Simon and Quinn are on-hand and of course, our favorite null, Charley, is growing up. The only issue I have with the book is that Lex pays no attention to her rescue dogs. The books are written in first person, which is my favorite. I still haven’t started the other urban fantasy series by Olson that is set in Chicago (I think) with the same universe rules.
This book is definitely a good addition to the series.

Boundary Broken is a fantastic continuation in the Old World universe! Lex isn't my favorite character, but it was fun to follow her around again. I think the series is definitely moving in a great direction! I'm ready for the next one. I hope there's more Scarlet, Lily, and Simon in the future! ****FOUR STARS****

There was so much action in this book, along with the rich supernatural characters. I wasn't sure how this story was going to end. It was refreshing to be able to read something, where I wasn't able to guess the outcome in the middle of the book. I would recommend this book to others, as well as gift it.

Olson's books are fun. They're the perfect thing when I just want to relax and not think too hard about anything. Boundary Broken was good, but not great. It wasn't as compelling as I usually find her stories. That said, I still enjoyed my time with the book. Boundary Broken is definitely a setup for a larger arc in the series, and I look forward to seeing where the setup goes.

Boundary Broken is the fourth book in the Boundary Magic series by Melissa F. Olson. You do need to read this series in order to fully understand some of the character connections and back story. However, this series and the related Scarlett Bernard series (which you do not need to read to understand this one) are well worth the time investment.

Years ago, boundary witch Allison “Lex” Luther made a promise to an alpha werewolf. Now, just when the supernatural community in Colorado is enjoying a period of hard-won peace, the alpha turns up at Lex’s door to call in his marker. Two of his pack members have disappeared in the Colorado sand dunes, and he needs safe passage to hunt for them. Boundary Broken is a wonderfully told story with lots of character growth, drama, danger, and hope for the future. Lex has been through so much, and all she really wants is to protect others- which is sadly not always possible. I felt like returning characters were even more complex before, and I can see hints of future conversations that really need to happen. I admire Olson's ability to make beven characters with a minor role in the action complex and interesting enough that I want to know more about them and their history. There is so much going on here, with undercurrents that hint at future emotional moments. However, even when there is a ton of things going on emotionally and physically with the characters it never hit the point where it was over whelming or confusing. Rarely can an author have this level of world and character building and action without something getting lost- but it balanced close to perfectly here. I will admit it took me a few pages , and reading my review of the previous book, to get back into Lex's story and remember not only where we left off but also everything that had happened thus far. However, once I was back into it I had trouble putting the story aside to do important things- like feeding the family and getting everyone out the door for school and work. I just love the story, characters, and writing style. As you might have noticed, I have said nothing about the actual action of the story- because I do not want to ruin it for returning fans and new readers should really start at the beginning of the series, or even better at the start of Scarlett's series to really enjoy the read.

Boundary Broken is yet another engaging book from Olson. My main issue is that I read them too fast, so I have to wait way too long for her next book.

I'm addicted to these books. Something about Lex is just so compelling. She takes on so much responsibility, is a constant soldier, and yet remains really likable to me. I also enjoy that she messes up in ways I'm not mad at her for, if that makes sense.

Lex is still working as daytime security for the local big bad vampire and trying to juggle a relationship with a vampire, being a great aunt to a null, and fulfill all her other obligations (rescue pets included). A while ago she promised to repay a debt to a somewhat local werewolf. One night he comes calling and it just goes downhill from there. Lots of people die in horrible ways. Evil horrible people return. So much badness goes on and Lex is seemingly helpless to stop it, no matter how amazing her powers are.

Ultimately, a sort of happy compromise is reached and most people get out alive. These books are not kind to characters, but watching them evolve is really wonderful. Even Lex, the perfect soldier, ends up stuck in lots of no win situations here. The witches play pretty prominently in her drama, but she still tries to please them. I feel for her, and am looking forward to what waits for her in the future.

10+++++ I love Melissa Olson's writing style. From the story development , the character interaction, and the overall story. Lex is one of my favorite female characters in a long time, and the way she fights, doesn't give up , and protects is apparent once again in this amazing series. When I finished this book I just had to go back and read the series over again. Thank you to the publishing house, the author, and NetGalley for making my night and having this book on here.

I love this series. I have been waiting forever another book about Lex. Ms. Olson is a wonderful world-builder and her characters have this gritty, magical, intriguing way of bringing you into their story. This story was no different. It's full of suspense and action, magic and paranormal creatures.

A building text. I have read all books in the series and this one was a little ordinary. Basically clearing out the stronger mother figure to allow for growth...coming of age for young witches. Enjoyable though.

Boundary Broken is the newest book in Melissa F. Olson’s Boundary Magic series. I did receive an ARC from the publisher, but I also purchased the kindle and audible versions to support the author and because I’ve enjoyed listening to the other books in this series. Each book in Olson’s Old World series further develops the characters and complexity of the Old World. Lex’s relationships with many other characters continue to evolve. I particularly liked seeing a bit more interaction with Maven as well.

In this book, Morgan Pellar is back, stirring up trouble between the Old World factions in Colorado and nearby Wyoming. There are tragic parts to this book, and it neatly sets up the next book in the series, which I hope will come very soon. Overall, this is a strong installment in an engaging series.

I liked this. This is the fourth book in the Boundary Magic Series. I had not read any of the previous books in the series and I think It works as a stand alone but there are so many auxiliary characters that I would have enjoyed the story more if I had read the previous books. I might go back and read the earlier stories so I can fully understand the back story. I think I will read the rest of the series as they are released. I liked the characters and their relationships but I was disappointed when characters I liked were killed off or were severely injured. Also, Lex sure does take a lot of beatings and so do her friends and relatives. My only complaint is that Lex sometimes does not anticipate the moves of some of her enemies. Sometimes, I was slapping my forehead saying, “What a rookie move!” I won’t give any spoilers but some of the tragic events at the end could have been avoided if Lex had put more thought into her actions and their consequences. Overall, I liked the story. And will read the rest of the series. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me an arc in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

I loved getting back to Lex in BOUNDARY BROKEN.

I enjoyed the storyline in BOUNDARY BROKEN. A lot of things are changing in Colorado and BOUNDARY BROKEN seems to be the beginning of those changes. The wolves play a big role in things and I enjoyed seeing them stick up for their pack and help Lex in finding out who was targeting them.

It's fun to see Charlie a little older. She can talk and interact now and it adds some new aspects to her character and the story. I continue to love Simon and Lily. I always enjoy their involvement in each mystery/event. Quinn didn't do much for me in BOUNDARY BROKEN. Maybe because he wasn't really involved a lot? I wish he was more able to be on Lex's side in situations. You can definitely feel the tension through the pages when he has to distance himself from things.

I love the whole world that Olson has created with all the series that make up the Old World. I always look forward to each book and I consider them must reads at this point. I will look out for the next book.

Another great read. Melissa has created a complex, rich world and I really enjoy discovering more with each visit. If you like Urban Fantasy, character development and mysteries read this.

Boundary Broken by Melissa F. Olson a five-star read that will break your boundary’s. This is the forth novel in the Boundary magic series and each one just gets better than the last, I would recommend that you read them in order as we do get to see characters in this one that we have met in earlier books. This one came at just the right moment, I was sick and feeling rotten and bored stuck in bed then this one dropped and made my day. It takes you on a journey and it will lead you on so many trips, just when we discover what happened to the missing wolves something else is amiss and will astound you as well. The Colorado Old world is a place that will take you to a different world. Lex will make you feel for every character in this story, she has a way of sucking you in, but not sucking you dry, she leaves that to her other half. This is a thrilling series and I for one can’t wait for more from Melissa F. Olson

Every single time. It happens to me every single time: I forget how much I enjoy this author until I read a book by her. As in the previous books I’ve read by her, this book is well-written, has a totally fascinating plot, and has wonderful characters. I didn’t think I could love Lex as a character any more than I already did, but she is just so full of heart and real. I wish we had gotten to see Quinn more in this book but maybe in the next one. And speaking of the next one, I am so anxious to see what’s coming next! I had to actually force myself to put the book down to get some sleep. We get to see old enemies, some people we knew get killed, old faces come to town, and a new enemy. How’s that for not giving away too much?!? This book is the fourth book in Lex’s story, but since it’s the beginning of a new story arc, it’s kinda like a first one. If you love great urban fantasy, give this one a try; you will not regret it! I highly recommend this book and was provided a copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

Boulder boundary witch Allison “Lex” Luther returns in the fourth installment in author Melissa F. Olson's Boundary Magic series. Apparently, the book jumps 2 years from the last book titled Boundary Born, but she did appear in Scarlett Bernard's Shadow Hunt. Lex is a former Army veteran who was left to die, but managed to survive thanks to her previously unknown boundary magic.

After losing her sister to a brutal attack which left her only daughter Charlie behind, Lex vowed that nothing would ever touch Charlie who, like Scarlett, is a null. In return for her protection of Charlie, Lex works for Maven, a cardinal vampire who is likely the most powerful & oldest vampire in the so called Old World, as a daytime security person. She is partnered with Quinn, a vampire who is also an investigator and her boyfriend.

A promise made in the past to a werewolf named Ryan Dunn comes knocking on her door, and it may lead to even more turmoil than she has had to deal with since watching the Vampire Trials with Scarlett. Years before, Ryan and his pack helped Lex defeat a dangerous Sandworm as well as the witch who called summoned it. When Ryan's pack mates are found dead, Lex's attempt at paying off her debt may end up making an already fractured alliance between witches and Maven come unraveled.

To further exasperate the situation, Lex's allies in the Pellar clan, Lily and Simon, find themselves being attacked and targeted with loss of their abilities. Someone from the past is playing a dangerous game and is well funded. It appears that Lex may be the only one able to stand up and ensure Maven's territory isn't taken over by zealots and an unknown power behind the woman who would do anything to see Maven exiled from Colorado.

It's fair to say that a whole lot happens in this book, but the most intriguing aspect is the fact that the author doesn't reveal who the mysterious benefactor is, and what this person wants. If you haven't yet read this series, I'll give you a brief summation of why you should. Being a boundary witch means that Lex has abilities that intersect life and death. She can see and speak with ghosts and help them move on. She can also can 'press' humans and vampires (mind control), and raise the dead. She has a steady relationship with Quinn, but there are still hiccups along the way.

I have to say that I was pleasantly pleased when this book was announced. It's fair to say I like Lex more than I do Scarlett. I like that she's a veteran who experiences episodes of PTSD and claustrophobia since I have similar episodes that take a lot out of me. I like that she's more powerful than she realizes but never once has allowed that power to overshadow who she is.

Since it has been a few years since the author wrote a book in this series, I do hope the second book in this new arc is released in a timely manner. She's spent the past 3 years writing the Disrupted Magic trilogy featuring Scarlett Bernard.
