Let me start off by saying Last Summer starts off with tremendous momentum. It continues to build until it reaches a crescendo of unbelievable proportions. If twisty psychological books are your thing then Kerry's book will hold you captive. Fast paced and crazy pick it up ASAP and enjoy the roller coaster ride. Thank you Kerry Hall Lonsdale for the ARC. #LastSummer #NetGalley

Last Summer is a thought provoking book that is well plotted and has many twists. Nothing in this story is extraneous- each word/sentence serves a purpose to somehow further the plot even when you don't realize it. It is so rare that a book surprises me that I almost didn't recognize the feeling. The basic plot surrounds a woman named Ella who wakes up in the hospital after an accident to find that she has no memory of every being pregnant with her husband's child or losing the baby in a horrific car accident. In fact, her memory loss actually occurs several days after the accident when supposedly she had already learned the news. This is a book that is hard to put down so make certain you have plenty of time to enjoy this wild ride!

4.5 stars

Kerry Lonsdale knows how to write a gripping novel and Last Summer definitely is that.

This novel follows Ella who has awoken in a hospital following a terrible accident that she doesn't remember and suffering the loss of a pregnancy she doesn't recall having. From there the story begins as Ella tries to remember what she's forgotten and hold onto a marriage she feels is suffering due to her memory loss.

While I did figure out some of the twists early on many were surprises as well so the book kept me on my toes from the first pages. I personally found this novel hard to put down and read it very quickly.

If you like twisty books this will be your jam, especially if you like one with a bit of mystery involved.

Thank you to Lake Union Publishing and NetGalley for an eARC copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

Difficult to categorize, that said I liked this book, Starts with main character in hospital after mva. Hubby beside her. Finds out she lost her baby in accident. Problem number one, she has no recollection of being pregnant...
As a journalist this poses a large problem( as if personal life not bizarre enough) first assignment after acc. Is with adventurous tv sportsman. Problem? She spent several weeks with him "Last Summer" and does not remember. All her notes are gone from her computer. Hubby acting distant...Whats going on? What happened? Good book, read it and see if you figure it out...

Another well written book by Kerry Lonsdale.
Intriguing characters and storyline
Ella wakes in hospital following and accident and subsequent loss of her baby with no memory of her pregnancy or the time leading up to it.
What is causing her memory loss?
This book tells Ella’s story as she struggles to come to terms with the loss of her baby and her memory. What lies behind the memory loss? Are there secrets to be found, will she find all the answers and if so what will happen next?
Thanks go to Kerry and Netgalley for allowing me the opportunity to read early in exchange for an honest review

First of all this book is a knockout! I absolutely could not put it down! As a reader, the story draws you in right away, by the 6th chapter I could not put it down. The momentum of the character development, complexities, and arcing and sparking lines will steam-roll you! At some point after reading for six hours straight, I accepted that I would be up all night finishing the book!

I'm not sure emotionally which characters I love, like, despise, and feel for, however, they were all astounding and perplexing!

I have had the opportunity to advance read all of Kerry's books and this is my current favorite! I recommend it and think it would be a great introduction into her work as an author!

I loved everything about this suspenseful novel from Kerry Lonsdale. She's at the top of her game with Last Summer, which left me guessing until the end. There's a love triangle and memory loss to deal with. The ending is conclusive, but there's an opening for a sequel.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.

The pacing of this book was quick, and the story was interesting. The climax of the story went off with a whimper. But the final explanation made up for it.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Lake Union publishing for an advanced read in exchange for this review.

I love Kerry Lonsdale.  The Everything series was one of my favorite reads over the past couple of years, so I was excited to see that she had a new book.  It did not disappoint!

Ella Skye is a lifestyle journalist who has been in a horrible car accident.  She's lost a pregnancy.  Her husband is devastated.  However, she does not remember ever being pregnant.  As Ella tries to recover, she's given an official interview with a retired adverturer - Nathan Donovan.  Ella does not remember him either, but he seems to know more about her.  She follows him on an adventure and slowly begins to realize that not only are people hiding things from her, she is hiding things from herself.  Will she figure out the truth?

What I really appreciate about Lonsdale's writing is she does such a fantastic job developing characters.  Even though they are not perfect, you can't help but to connect with all of them.  Also, she writes a lot about the human memory and its limitations.  The twists in her novel are not too over the top.  I was captivated by this story as Ella worked to figure out the mysteries around her life and why she could not remember important things.  Lonsdale also captures the grief and struggle of other characters who are affected by Ella's memory.  The only downside is that we have to wait over a year for her next novel!

This was my first book by this author and I totally enjoyed it. I liked her writing style and truly cared about the characters. There were many twists and turns through this novel. A few of which I didn’t see coming. I didn’t have time to sit and read this book for long periods at a time but it stayed on my mind and I couldn’t wait until I had a chance to get back to it! Can’t wait to read more by this author!

Last Summer is a very good book! A lot of twists and turns abound in this book.

I thought the writing was amazing. I loved this book. The only two complaints I have are: I want more Nathan and Ella, and I wished the story never ended.

This review is honest and wholly my own. I want to thank Netgalley and Author for a chance to read this book early.

I have read Kerry Lonsdale's a few times now, she always writes flawlessly, and her character development is spot on. There is always a presence of mystery and intrigue. I read Last Summer super fast , it was a page turner, On the down side , which I never experienced before in her previous books , was a dash of predictability. I was team Nathan, he had a certain charm about him. The ending was open ended, bit of a cliff hanger, it's left to your imagination. This surprisingly bothered me, as I feel it could of wrapped up with more closure or not end so quickly. I still look forward to future readings from this authoress

Once I started reading this book, it was hard to put down!

Ella is a journalist who wakes up one day in the hospital with no memory of what happened to put her there in the first place.

Damien, her husband is a successful CEO who loves his wife to death and would do ANYTHING to make her happy.

Nathan, a celebrity adventurer, who Ella once interviews for her company.

You put all these 3 people together and you get love, lust, suspense & intrigue! Ella is in search of the truth of the accident she doesn't remember or the memories prior to the accident. Her husband won't talk to her about it so she goes to meet Nathan again as he called seeking another interview with her.

Will she find out the REAL truth and recover her memories? Or will she just believe what she is told?

Last Summer is a brilliantly bonkers novel.
Ella Skye has been in an accident that she can't remember. She has to re-interview an adventurer called Nathan Donovan she has completely forgotten. What is going on?
Ella has an enviable life. She has a great job as a lifestyle journalist and is married to the man of her dreams, tech entrepreneur Damien. What aren't the men in Ella's life telling her?
Ella has to retrace her steps, and discover if she can handle the truth. Great fun.

Well Kerry Lonsdale does not disappoint in this romance/drama that has an intriguing story line with a twist. You will love the details that place you right at the scenes in her writing. The story with repressed memory loss finds a way to draw you in and captivate to the last page. A "can't put down", "must read" book!

Wow, just wow. My heart is still racing! From page one I was captivated by Ella and Damien, the love they have for one another, despite Ella's memory loss and forgetting carrying their child nearly to term before an accident takes him from them. The devastating loss takes it toll, though--Ella has questions and Damien's not answering. So when the opportunity arises again for Ella to interview Nathan Donovan, a heart throb celebrity outdoorsman she has already interviewed and spent two weeks with but has no recollection of, she is determined to go and get answers as to why she can remember some things from from the last 7 months, but nothing about Nathan and her unborn son.

Kerry has done it again and better than before. I loved every word of Last Summer!

Domestic suspense at its best! Meet Ella, a reporter who shows up with no memory of the accident that put her in the hospital... or the loss of the baby she was carrying. Meet Damien, her husband, who seems to be protecting the answers to Ella's memory loss at all costs. Readers will be quickly engaged, alongside Ella, on her quest to bring back the memories lost. In a quick race to the finish, loaded with outdoor adventure and characters you won't forget, readers will find themselves turning each page feverishly, for answers. Authors spend months writing and reviewing their works of art, I almost feel bad reading such a great story in one sitting, but you will find it hard to put down once you start! A perfect book to add to your summer reading list! Don't miss this one!

I read this book in one sitting and I totally loved it. I just adored everything about it, it had love, deceit, loss & suspense. I don't want to give too much away essentially the nuts and bolts of the story is that Ella has an accident and cannot remember their unborn child. Her husband Damien is a bit unhelpful in helping her to remember what she cannot remember. Then you follow Ella's journey in her attempt to remember.

Very good and yes a solid 5 star rating from me.
