Due to a sudden, unexpected passing in the family a few years ago and another more recently and my subsequent (mental) health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for several years after the bereavements. This meant I didn't read or venture onto netgalley for years as not only did it remind me of that person as they shared my passion for reading, but I also struggled to maintain interest in anything due to overwhelming depression. I was therefore unable to download this title in time and so I couldn't give a review as it wasn't successfully acquired before it was archived. The second issue that has happened with some of my other books is that I had them downloaded to one particular device and said device is now defunct, so I have no access to those books anymore, sadly.

This means I can't leave an accurate reflection of my feelings towards the book as I am unable to read it now and so I am leaving a message of explanation instead. I am now back to reading and reviewing full time as once considerable time had passed I have found that books have been helping me significantly in terms of my mindset and mental health - this was after having no interest in anything for quite a number of years after the passings. Anything requested and approved will be read and a review written and posted to Amazon (where I am a Hall of Famer & Top Reviewer), Goodreads (where I have several thousand friends and the same amount who follow my reviews) and Waterstones (or Barnes & Noble if the publisher is American based). Thank you for the opportunity and apologies for the inconvenience.

This is my first book by Matthew Farrell and I was no disappointed. Randall Brock's wife has been killed in a terrible accident, which investigator Susan Adler quickly discovers was not an accident at all. Amanda Brock had been killed before her car careened off the cliff. This book has so many twists and turns that left me questioning the truth. Nothing is as it seems. This was a quick, enjoyable mystery read and I look forward to reading the other books in the Adler and Dwyer series.

The book was very well written but perhaps too dark for some? It was however gripping and kept you guessing throughout.

*Spoilers for plot points*

I was enjoying this book as a good mystery with an interesting set-up: a woman's car accident turns out to be a murder. The husband is accused of the crime and is visited by a mysterious man who claims to have been there when the wife was killed. The husband also has a shady past connected to other cases of murder in his past.

Then came the twist (and here's the spoiler): the husband actually has Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) and it was his other personalities who have been killing people. I hated this so much! DID already has such a stigma attached to it that is completely inaccurate. People with DID are not crazed murderers - they're way more likely to be the victim of violent crimes than to have perpetrated them. I'm pretty sure this author did zero research on DID (especially on how it's developed or how it manifests). Using someone's mental illness to try to shock viewers is not only kinda lazy writing, but it's also offensive.

I could get dismiss some of the writer's quirks that bugged me (introducing new characters by listing descriptions of their build, hair color, eye color, etc. or plot holes that never got explained) but the use of DID to showcase a crazed maniac was one step too far for me to bypass. I wish people would truly understand what they're writing about before they put it in their books.

I Know Everything by Matthew Farrell is a solid police procedural. Maybe it's just me, but I couldn't really get into the story. The characters were fine, but it felt a little empty in spots. Not a lot of depth to the story, and fairly rote. Just okay. Thanks to Netgalley for an advance copy.

A dark mystery - I know Everything - is very well written. It captures your attention from the very beginning as we meet police investigators Susan Adler.

A car accident, a victim and now foul play. Follow Susan as she tries to solve the mystery of the wealthy wife of Randall Brock. The book has enough twists and turns to keep you engrossed until the very end.

I love a detailed and drawn out police procedural. Especially with suspicious characters and twists and turns will definitely keep you turning the pages. I couldn’t predict the main twist and the characters are not what they seem. This is the perfect psychological thriller.

Susan Adler is a New York State investigator and she starts by investigating a fatal car accident. Susan is juggling being a single mom and solving her case. She's also just got a new partner to train. This case isn't making sense even after it's determined to be a homicide.
There were plenty of twists and surprises to keep me turning pages and reading to the end.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for my copy to honestly review.

A twisty tale that captivates from start to finish. I Know Everything follows the mysterious murder of a woman and the police officers who investigate her case. As the husband looks more and more likely to be the prime suspect, his side of the story will definitely having you second guessing. The plot is developed well, the characters are likable yet suspicious and the story has all of the twists and turns that you would expect from a psychological thriller. The writing was just OK, the characterizations were rather flat, and the plot line attempted some trickiness that did not resonate with me. Overall worth a read.

Who doesn't love a mystery involving a death and blackmail? Amanda is killed and the killer wants something from her husband who happens to be a doctor that treats disturbed paitents. This is a wonderful suspense novel. I wish there was a little more character information about Amanda but maybe that is where a series could come into play?

Thank you for sending me an advance copy of I know Everything by Matthew Farrell. I don't typically enjoy police procedurals but this one was full of fun twists and turns. Definitely a page turner!

Police investigator Susan Adler is ready to close the book on a deadly car accident, but after the medical examiner discovers evidence of foul play, she knows she has a murder on her hands. The victim was the wealthy wife of Randall Brock, a renowned psychiatrist who treats patients with disturbing, brutal fantasies. And just like that, Susan’s got a suspect.

Randall has a violent past but knows he didn’t kill his wife. In the midst of his crushing grief, Randall receives a visit from a stranger with information to share about his wife’s death. But there’s a catch: in exchange for the stranger’s information, Randall must reveal dark secrets he’s kept hidden for years. As this shady figure applies more pressure and Susan closes in, Randall begins to doubt himself, clinging desperately to the pieces of his sanity.

Revelations and suspicious coincidences send shock waves through the investigation, and circumstances spin out of control. Susan must race to put it all together before it’s too late—before the next murder strikes too close to home.

Thanks to NetGalley, publisher and author, for allowing me to read and review this book. I could not get into this book. I did not connect with any of the characters or the story. Whenever I start a book, it is so exciting. It feels like an adventure is waiting for me and I look forward to finding out what the story is. Not with this book. I don't like to give bad reviews but I have to be honest when I like them and when I don't.

Intriguing story. Well written and absorbing. There are some details about nonprofits that should have been researched better, one particular example, nonprofits do not pass to anyone on the death of their founders and certainly none of the assets attach to any of the directors. A small, but important detail. This misstep in the story throws the story off balance. Setting this faux pas aside, the story was very well done. A good and enjoyable mystery.

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this roller coaster of a book. The book starts off on fire! The reader couldn't help but flip the pages faster to learn more about the crazy world of psychiatrists. Did this book have some parts that you are asking yourself could this really happen? Poor Amanda wife of Dr. Randall Brock is killed in a automobile accident on the way home from a fundraiser...was she murdered? Of course she was! and the person who knows what happened wants something from Dr. Brock!
If you are looking for a book with twists and turns that keep you guessing, this is a great suspense.

This book was full of surprises and so easy to read. He's a new author to me but I'll definitely read more from him in the future

Susan Adler is about to finish up a deadly car accident when evidence is uncovered that looks like the car accident may have been a homicide. Amanda Brock, the woman killed, is the wife of Randall Brock, a psychologist who treats patients with disturbing fantasies. All evidence seems to be pointing towards Randall Brock as the killer, after all, husbands are the killers in many of these cases. But this one just doesn’t seem right to Adler, so she continues to search for the killer, determined to uncover the truth.

I KNOW EVERYTHING is a perfect mix of thriller & police procedural. Adler’s character and storyline provides the right amount of police procedural and the twists and turns throughout the book keep it fast paced like a thriller. I would love to learn more about Adler’s character and could definitely see a series written around her.

While the book definitely had its share of twists and turns, I didn’t find myself too surprised by any of them. I’ve read a few books recently with this type of reveal, so I wish I would have read this one at a different time in the hope of being more surprised. Regardless, Farrell’s writing was fantastic and I kept wanting to turn (or in the case of my Kindle, tap) my way through the pages to find out who the killer was.

I look forward to reading more of Farrell’s books in the future!
