Really made me laugh out loud. This is an exceptionally quick read but worth it. It made me put a smile on my face.

Humorous book about two characters who bored with the book they have been drawn into. I really do hope there is an Untitled too book!

Untitled is a cleverly written children's picture book that is unlike anything we have ever read before. The two main characters discuss how they would like to be portrayed by the author and illustrator and at the end, there is a surprise twist that even they didn't see coming. Our favorite section was when the characters were part of the covers of many "famous" children's book which was such a fun concept.

The story is definitely original and might not work for everyone but I read this with my 8-year-old and we both enjoyed the "fresh take" and odd humor of this story. The illustrations were beautifully done and we would definitely recommend this one to ages 7-10. A big thank you to NetGalley and Schiffer Publishing for a copy of this book.

I liked just how different this book is from most children's books. It doesn't have much in the way of plot; the two characters discuss how they would like their story to be, with several jabs at the author/illustrator. The illustrations are jump-off-the-page brilliant. A fun read-aloud!

This was a really cute book! The story was funny and children will love it! The illustrations were done very well and helped tell the story. I want to use it in a storytime and buy other titles by this author.

I read this story with my 8 year old and we both enjoyed the illustrations, especially the re-done book covers of well known books, but we felt like the story itself came up short.

Cute, unique story. I loved the two characters and had to laugh at the ending.. I think the students at school would love to hear this one. I honestly thought there wasn't a title yet for this book until I got to the end and realized the title was actually "Untitled".

A laugh out loud read for fans of This is a Taco and The Book that Has No Pictures. Breaking the fourth wall, the characters in this book not only talk to the audience, but talk about the author/illustrator as well. This adorable format had me laughing over and over again.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Schiffer Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is an odd story but cute graphics! Love that he uses unusual animals! Great ending. I think most children would enjoy this book. 4 stars

For me, the best thing that Untitled by Timothy Young has going for it is the artwork. Wherein the bulk of the story centers around the author unable to decide what to do with his characters and what to even write about. Untitled does sort of follow this idea that, as a writer, you wont always know what to write about and you're going to try a bunch of different things before you finally figure out what your story actually is. And Untitled is the collection of attempts that the author makes to figure out his story. Which, yeah, fine...I've been there and I get it. But as a book? I don't know, it just didn't work for me. And it's not that I don't get the message or that I don't appreciate the idea of this message going to children, I just don't know if I'd ever buy it. Barring the moment in the future where I have a kid devastated that they can't figure out what to write for their own personal story--if by some miracle I have a child like me who wants to be an author--then, sure, maybe.

But even then, I really didn't care about anything to do with Untitled. And the characters seemed incredibly condescending toward their author on multiple occasions which annoyed me greatly. Perhaps if the characters themselves had been less annoyed with the author--a humor attempt that just didn't work out--I would like the story and book a little bit more than I do. Though I did enjoy and appreciate the brief shout out to some other famous children's books wherein the characters of this one were suddenly the characters of the others, the majority of the story told simply wasn't for me. All in all, I can see the usefulness of this story for some kids, but not a lot.

This book doesn't have much of a story. It's just a couple of characters talking about being in a story, and sort of ragging on their author/illustrator. The self-referential thing can work if it's done well, but I don't think this book really accomplished that.

My favourite part was probably when the two characters were looking at their bookshelf. There were lots of familiar titles, but with coatimundi or capybara characters standing in for the original ones. That was kind of cute, but it might not be appreciated by all kids (especially if they haven't read the books in question). Actually, much of the humour in this book doesn't seem like it's for kids at all. For jokes that reference other works, you really need to have read those other works to "get it". That's more likely the older you are.

For a better book in a similar vein, I'd recommend Ryan T. Higgins's Be Quiet! The story is a little more suitable for kids, and the illustrations are nicer.

I'm afraid I have to agree with Ignatz when he said, "Mostly I'm just bored..."

The pictures are the best part of this book as the two critters wait for the author to do something and end up talking about other picture books. However, there wasn't enough of a focus so it just came across as random.

This is just a really short story that is absolutely worth the read. It won't take more than five minutes and it will put a smile in your face for sure. Also, the illustrations are absolutely amazing.

Thank you to Schiffer Publishing and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this HILARIOUS children's book in exchange for an honest review.

You need to buy this book for everyone you know. It's for children, but like animated films that we all watch today, there is plenty for the adults. This book made me laugh out loud it was so funny and clever! When I saw this was available to request, I clicked on it to see what it was about and there was no description. I saw that there were three glowing reviews so I decided to check it out and I'm really glad I did.

Ignatz and Carlos are friends who are waiting for the author to draw them an interesting story to be in. Their dialogue between each other is commentary on what the author/illustrator does and doesn't write in the book. The illustrations were fabulous and helped enhance the story.

I highly recommend you buy this book (link here: https://www.schifferbooks.com/untitled-6617.html) and add it to your library. I know it will be a part of mine once it is published in May 2019!!

A great story with wonderful illustrations and very entertaining, well written to entertain adults and children. Two characters wait for the artist to write the story, we also lean about them as we wait , a great ending and let’s hope there is another

Silly sort of story.

The two animals are doing a "Waiting for Godot" in that they are waiting for the writer to do something. In the meantime, they talk about what they would like to have happen.

I liked these tributes to the great children's books out there. (the pictures below)

And of course the ending is silly too.

Probably more for the adult children, because I'm not sure that the kids would get all the references to other picture books, unless they are well read.

Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.
