This was another superficial, quick romance with no substance. The hero is a race car driver who is infactuated with Lucy and she's attracted to him but wary of what a relationship would do to both of their careers. Both jumped into bed with each other too quickly and spend most of the time assuring themselves it would work. Just not my cup of tea.

Conflicted feelings towards one another when your simply there to do a job definitely turn into what both of them needed.

Hole shot by M.A. Parker is the first book in the Motocrossed series and the first book I have read by this author. Owen is in the running to win the NMA championship and Lucy is a reporter covering his meteoric rise to the top of the standings. Owen feels an instant attraction to Lucy but after barely graduating high school himself, is slightly intimidated by her university education while Lucy feels the same draw but his reputation as “Goin’ Owen” is working against him.

There were parts of this book that I really enjoyed such as when Lucy and Owen went on their date. I felt that the dialogue between them was well written, flowing well and really helped me visualise the scene and I loved the character of Owen but I was left feeling that the ending was a bit rushed with a blackmail plot that cropped up in the story with only 8 minutes reading time left according to my kindle and wasn’t really explained away. I just felt that there should have been more instead the ending was a bit of an anticlimax for me.

Holeshot is my first read by M.A. Parker and I was captivated by the easy flowing storyline, the interesting plot hat focused on two equally driven people with opposing ethics and careers, and the variety of characters who make this book a thoroughly enjoyable escape. I will definitely be reading more by this talented author.

motocross racer Owen meets Lucy who writes for a motocross magazine. This book a little hard to get into I just had a hard time getting into the dynamic between the two. I had to pic it up and read it a few times before I got into the swing of it . The book did have angst and some heartbreak !! Over all it was a good read, worth checking out . Thank you Netgalley and M.A. Parker for allowing me to review this book

Genre: Romance

I love books like this, a bit of fame element and all the jealousies that brings. I enjoyed this book, well written plots that fall into place easily and characters that felt real. Somehow though it didn't grip me in a can't-put-down way, and I did actually put aside a couple of times for something else.
Though its a potentially real story I felt the drama in it fell short for me and maybe that's why I put it down, I just didn't feel the barriers were strong enough for the plot, that there was really a reason for them not to be together.
Then the ending, that felt very rushed after the long set up, over in a few short pages of fait accompli, when I want the drama and the answers to really fit the length of the story. I felt as if I'd got to last part of the book and suddenly it was bam, bam, bam, everything neatly sorted and boxed up.
As always we all want different things and the parts where I felt it fell short could be what makes it perfect for you.

Stars: Three, a fun read but not a keeper.
