The Last Time I Saw You by Liv Constantine was a page turner! I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough once the story really got going. I loved all the twists and turns this book had! I was able to guess who did it, but I doubted myself numerous times throughout the story. And there were lots of twists and turns I did not see coming! Overall, a nice thriller from Ms. Constantine. I look forward to reading more from her in the future.

Thank you to the publisher for the advanced e-book. #netgalley #thelasttimeisawyou

Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. Especially when you're an heiress married to a handsome man. First, your mother is murdered. You suspect everyone. Then, you get menacing emails and "gifts". Enough to make you crazy!

Thank you NetGalley and Harper for an advanced reader's copy of this book. I absolutely loved The Last Mrs. Parrish and was super excited to see this approval come in from NetGalley, This was a very fast paced thriller that will keep you guessing until the end. This book starts with the death of Kate's mother Lily, and it appears to be foul play. Kate then starts to receive threats or is she. This book will mess with you mind and nothing is what it seems. Liv Constantine knows how to write a good thriller and this one does not disappoint.

Money can't assure happiness, families have secrets, friendship can go array, hidden truths can bring murder. Constantine's psychological thriller thrills and chills as the main character Kate deals with the aftermath of her mother's murder. Who's the murderer? Why? Kate has so many questions. Her life and her mental state is up in the air. Everyone seems guilty even herself. When Kate's old friend Blaire appears, whom she'd been estranged from for years, at the funeral together they seek the answers. Blaire becomes the investigator supporting her old friend.. Strange things keep happening drawing Kate into a web of questions. She fears for her sanity as the murder investigation draws out the details. The story will keep you enthralled until the end with surprising twists and turns filling in information from characters' past while focusing on the murder investigation of the present.

Well, comparing this to the authors’ last book, I’d have to say that I like this one, but it wasn’t a crazy ride like The Last Mrs. Parrish. But, I did like the main character (unlike Mrs Parrish) and that really helps me enjoy a book. This was a quick, fun read.

This book was received as an ARC from HarperCollins Publishers - Harper in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

I have heard many great things about Liv Constantine and her work and when I read the description, this was the perfect mystery/thriller to read. Hearing someone's back story that once had everything you could imagine and then when your mother mysteriously is found dead and they expect it to be murder and you are the prime suspect, your whole life gets flipped upside down. Then you reach out to an old friend you haven't seen in years asking and depending on their help for your sake is the ultimate plea, the ultimate sacrifice and the ultimate key to survival and keeping your name. Edge of your seat thrill ride that will leave you breathless and wanting more.

We will consider adding this title to our Fiction collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

While the writing and overall plotting of this book deserve a 2 star rating, I'm giving it 3 stars because I honestly couldn't put it down.

I caught on to part of the mystery early on and was wondering how it would fit in to the rest of the story. I found the conclusion extremely unsatisfying. There are things revealed that really came out of left field. Perhaps if some of the side characters had been a little more developed, parts of the ending would have made more sense.

I'm a huge fan of The Last Mrs. Parrish so was trying not to give my hopes up on this book but there was no need for the worry. This book was great! I enjoyed the characters, story line and loved all the twist along the way. If you are wanting a great thriller than this should be your next read. I couldn't put it down and read it within in a few sittings. I would highly recommend this to my friends and followers.

A quick-read thriller, this one took me less than two days to finish. The chapters are relatively short, and for the first part I was trying to decide who the killer was.

That said, the middle did drag a bit, and I started to feel like it was an endless loop of the same few suspicious things happening over and over to fill up space. I think there was room for this story to be told a bit better, as the killer reveal and all of the pieces that went together had the promise of being a good murder mystery.

If you enjoy a thriller then this is the book for you. Dr. Kate is dealing with the murder of her mother and her family falling apart. I enjoyed the plot twists and turns and didn’t see the ending coming. Definitely a great read.

Overall this book was a disappointment, especially compared to the authors' previous book, THE LAST MRS. PARRISH. The narrative here was slow and plodding, the characters not really well-developed, and the writing felt sloppy and lazy. It actually felt like 2 different people wrote this book. Missing all of the fun from MRS PARRISH and none of the soap and twists that book had. Bummer, I was so looking forward to this one, but it was definitely a step back. Perhaps enjoyable for those who don't normally read suspense and thrillers like this, but with so many similar books coming out in the same genre recently, not sure fans of the genre will respond to this one. thanks for the advanced copy.

The Last Mrs. Parrish was one of my favorite reads in 2017! Therefore, I couldn’t wait to read @livconstantine2 ‘s new book coming out on May 7th!
After Kate’s mother is found murdered, she herself begins to receive random, anonymous messages that points to her being the next victim. The more she receives, the less she trusts anyone around her. As grotesque items begin to appear in her own home, it seems as though this person may be too close for comfort! Could it be her husband, whom she suspects of having an affair, the possible mistress wanting to eliminate her, her own bestie who came back into town to be by her side, a neighbor, or a close relative???
This one had my favorite type of plot- one that keeps you reading and guessing until the end! It did not disappoint!
Who plans on picking this one up??
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

"The Last Mrs. Parrish" was my favorite book of 2017, hands down. Nothing came close to unseating it. It was fun, clever, page-turning fun. So my expectations for a follow-up were at an all-time high. Alas...those expectations were too high, and I didn't love this one anywhere near as much as I loved their first novel. Maybe it was because of the ridiculous amount of thrillers that have come out since, and I'm in fatigue mode...coupled with the fact that I've now read so many twists, I unfortunately figured out the culprit almost immediately (although I 100% didn't figure out the "why", which is a doozy).

There are actually so many twists in the final 50 pages that it almost feels like you have to duck to keep from getting hit by them. While I think if they had been spaced out more, the impact would have been better, so we could digest them. Because the main twist seemed so telegraphed (as many early reviewers have agreed), it might have been better if it were revealed at the book's midpoint...and then spent the rest of the book adding texture to the culprit's back story, and how they ended up in this predicament, to build more sympathy for them, which would have made the reader truly torn over who to root for by book's end. It also would have helped disguise the fact that most of the other suspects were so underdeveloped, characterwise.

Did I hate this book? No. Did I enjoy it? No. I feel like it could have been a contender with a bit more finesse. But it's rare for a follow-up to be as good as, or better than, the blockbuster debut that came before it. Sadly, this is not a part of that rare group, but I'm not counting out Liv Constantine, and very much look forward to her third outing.

Readers who enjoy psychological thrillers with lots of twists will enjoy this book. Just when you think you have things figured out, another twist is added. Things get weird after Dr. English's mother is brutally murdered. With lots of suspects in and out of the house, it's hard to find the killer. Most of the character's have secrets to hide that will gradually be revealed. Fun book to try figure out.

I was eagerly awaiting a follow up book by these amazing sisters and this does not disappoint! The depth of the plot - the characters, the plot twists, the drama - all amazing. I could not put this book down - even sneaking reading time while I should have been doing work...

The main character of Kate and Blair are so well written - they have layers upon layers and some of them are rather scary to peel back. I love it when a heroine isn't completely lovable as well - every good main character needs a side of human..

I'm thinking this will be one of the hot beach reads this summer - maybe even this year's Gone Girl... Don't show it to Reese Witherspoon!!

Fast-paced, but a little predictable. The ending tied up just a little too neatly. Over time, I thought the character of Kate was a little grating, less sympathetic.

I have read the authors previous work and loved it so I was excited to dive into this novel. The premise sounded intriguing, but it was so hard to get into the story and the characters. There was so much going on, it was confusing to keep everything straight. This book was too slow for me, and I could not get invested into the storyline.

When I read The Last Mrs. Parrish as part of Reese's Book Club last year, I fell in love with Liv Constantine (the pen name for powerhouse author duo and sisters Lynne Constantine and Valerie Constantine). So when I had an opportunity to review an advanced copy of The Last Time I Saw You, I was overjoyed.

The Last Time I Saw You is very different from The Last Mrs. Parrish. Where the latter was more of a domestic thriller, this book leaned more into the mystery genre. The story bounces back and forth between that of Kate, a woman whose mother was brutally murdered, and Blaire, her long-time-but-recently-estranged-best-friend and mystery writer who is determined to find the killer. When Kate begins to receive threatening messages, an investigation ensues, and they will stop at nothing to find out who is behind the mystery.

I always enjoy the writing of this fabulous duo. They have a way of sucking you in and keeping you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Was this the most original mystery/thriller? No. Will it stand out at the end of the year among the other books in this category? Probably not. But it was super fun to read and I enjoyed it. It would make a good, easy pool read this summer.

The one thing that I will say is that I guessed one of the larger twists very early on in the story so I wasn't entirely surprised in the end. There were still a few tricks up the author's sleeves so I didn't feel entirely let down, but the end got a little convoluted and crazy.

At the end of the day I'm still a huge Liv Constantine fan and will continue to read anything this pair publishes. Can't wait to see what they come up with next.

Another page turning thriller from Constantine - a master of giving readers a look into the lives of the Uber wealthy, who have problems to match their fortunes. When Kate’s mother is brutally murdered, the silver lining is that estranged friend Blair re-enters her life to help in the aftermath.

I thoroughly enjoyed the author's previous book, "The Last Mrs. Parrish"; however, this book just didn't seem as cohesive to me. There were several different mysteries going on that kept my attention, but the explanation at the end didn't work for me. I can't really specify anything because that would spoil the story, but let's just say that the characters in the story were overly dramatic at times, and by the end of the book I really didn't like the majority of them. I do appreciate books that end in a not-so neat and tidy way, but I think this book could have ended sooner without all the extra explanations at the end. It was almost like the author was trying to include all the things that make thrillers interesting, but wasn't explaining how all these things actually make sense for this story. This was a quick read for me, so for that, I'll give it three stars. Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.
