This teaser was so much fun and I can't wait to read the entire book!

Kailyn Flowers has always strived to be the best and she expects to first in her class by the time she finishes law school at UCLA. On her first day she literally runs into Daxton Hughes, her crush for many years when he was on the TV show, It's My LIfe. From then on they end up having a fun, competitive relationship up until the end of law school when he ends up screwing her over.

Flash forward and who should walk into her office, but Dax with his parents...they want to set up a trust for their 13 year old daughter, Emme. Too bad he doesn't recognize her at first and this just pisses her off! Of course his mother quickly recognizes something going on between these two!

Fast forward six months and Dax's life has been completely shattered with the car crash that took both of his parents and left him with custody of his sister. Needing to understand everything involving his sister, Dax contacts Kailyn for help. When their hug goodbye is witnessed by Kailyn's boss, she challenges Kailyn to convince Dax to come work for their law office and in exchange she will make Kailyn a partner...which has been her ultimate dream.

So far I love both of these characters. They have such a fun, sexy chemistry and I cannot wait to read the rest of this story!

This was a great sneak peek for this book. I think I'll enjoy both of the main characters. However, the female MC Kailyn doesn't feel super mature for someone who's supposed to be 30 years old. She still obsessed with a tv show from when she was a teenager (and even drinks from a coffee mug with the tv character's face on it) while trying to become a parter at the law firm she works at. I definitely see the potential and think I will really enjoy reading this book when it comes out on April 9th!

I was only able to read an extended preview but it grabbed me and now I need this book. I need to finish the story. It will be full of tension but entertaining at the same time. Kailyn is holding a grudge towards Daxton and he doesn't even understand why. But things get more difficult for her because she can not escape him or vent her frustration without looking petty either. She has to put the past aside due to a tragedy and be a helping hand for Daxton. I'm sure that what is to come will be a learning process for both of them.

I really enjoy Helena’s writing. The first part of the book has made me very intrigued to read the rest. In Helena’s writing, I do enjoy the two former enemies fall in love trope. They always include a strong female character. I am excited to read the rest!

This small preview definitely got my attention. It reminded me of a romantic comedy and it the beginning was catchy enough to want me to continue reading. One small note though, the protagonist and her best friend did not passed the Bechdel test; in contrast, the male protagonist was discussing other things with his friend, not just women. Of course this may have been because this is a short preview, but it did struck me as a bit odd, considering the woman is the lead.

Wow, I really enjoyed this extended preview. I will definitely read the full book.

I wasn’t sure what to expect and was surprised by the depth of these characters. Kailyn and Daxton have a cute beginning. Yet they both are talented lawyers and seem to have chemistry and an attraction. I’m curious to know more about what happened in college and see their friendship develop.

This definitely pulls you right into the story! I am like looking forward to reading more.

After an 'extended preview ' I am, of course, hooked and desperate to read more. Unfortunately I will now have to wait.

They meet in law school, he's a former child star, she was a fan. She's kind of smart yet ditsy in the way Helena Hunting does best. It's actually laugh out loud funny, and that's not an easy thing to achieve with me, I rarely enjoy books that try too hard to be funny. This works.

Intriguingly, when they meet again years later, they are more mature but they have some history that my 'extended preview ' only hinted at. From what I read so far though, there's a blend of slapstick, wit and poignant moments along with a tease of some chemistry.

I'm looking forward to reading the full title.

This preview exceeded my expectations! I dove in expecting a light, YA romance but came out with much more. The author brought a depth to the characters and their stories, giving a substantial base to the novel. surpassing it being just a frilly silly "meet cute" book. Real issues and serious matters are introduced but in a way where you are still kept lighthearted and interested in the budding romance between our main characters. Can't wait for this one to come out!.

Kailyn's first live encounter with teen heartthrob, Daxton Hughes, occurs on her first day of law school. She is walking across the campus, intently focusing on a motivational podcast, closing her eyes to visualize her future success, and is completely unaware that she's walking through a game of frisbee until Daxton collides with her. She has a complete fan girl moment, gushing over him. Turns out they are in the same law school class, and their paths cross frequently during the three years of law school where it seems they were friendly rivals right up until graduation where the emphasis might have shifted from friendly to rivals..

Flash forward five years and Daxton and Kailyn run into each other professionally. Kailyn helps set up a trust for Daxton's younger sister, Emme. Kailyn is still attracted to Daxton and a little bitter about the end of law school. Tragedy strikes Daxton's family and he needs Kailyn's help. This is where the preview ended. If the story continues in the same vein, this will be a cute rom-com with some tugged heart strings. I look forward to reading the rest!

Thank you NetGaley and Forever Books/Hachette Book Group for the extract.

In only three chapters, I’m already hooked to Kailyn and Daxton’s story. They knew each other during law school, which seems like there may have been some parks but has yet to be confirmed.

Fast forward 5 years, both Kailyn and Dayton are successful lawyers. Daxton’s life changes when his parents are killed in a car crash leaving him with his 13 year old sister to take care of. Kailyn is tasked with convincing Daxton to work for the same firm she does.

Im already loving the quick wit in this story. I need to know what is going to happen to Kailyn and Daxton. Can’t wait for this release!

Extended Preview provided by NetGalley.

We meet the two main characters, Kailyn and Dax, in Law school. Dax also happens to be a famous actor and Kailyn is a big fan of his show. Five years down the road they meet again. Dax gets some devastating news and finds out he is now the guardian to his younger sister, Emme. Meanwhile, Kailyn is trying to become partner at the firm she is working and her boss wants Dax working for them.

This preview left me wanting more!! I cannot wait until April 9th to get my hands on the rest of this book.

This extended preview was perfect! We get a good soft introduction to the two main characters and I already half-developed a crush on Daxton myself (I know, it didn’t take much)! My mind is already spinning theories about what will happen, and while they might be predictable theories, I’m just excited to read it. I think this will be a really cute story! I wish that the book was available already so I could continue reading it because I want more now—but I’m glad that I don’t have to wait too long until I can add it to my library.

This preview was the perfect tease to make me want the book. I am such a huge fan of Helena Hunting and love when she has a new book coming out. She brings phonemail stories and characters to life.

This was my first time getting an extended preview, versus an actual book. And I will just say that it was such a let down to get finished with the extended preview because I wanted more!! This book is spunky, intriguing and engaging. I cannot wait to get my hands on the full copy when it come out.

This is my first time reviewing a helena hunting book. I wanted to read this book since the first time i read the synopsis. And the cover was amazing. It made me excited . Thanks to netgalley i got a chance to read the preview and let me start by saying that it is a good one. Though it is not my first Helena Hunting book but i can already say that this one is my favourite.
So, the story starts with our hero and heroine in a not so meet cute encounter. Their (not so) meet cute contains a frisby match, hero 'embarassed 'and 'irritated ', heroine fangirling (literally) over him at law school campus. They were togather in the law school but nothing happened between them at that time. But due to some misunderstanding at the end of their time in university our heroine was less than pleased to meet her teenage 'crush' 5 years later. Under tragic circumstances they had to work togather and i hope that brings them close again in a romantic manner. I can't say for sure since the preview ended there but i am very excited to read the rest of the book.
This is a bit different than all other helena hunting 'pucked series' and other standalones . Though i liked them all I loved this one so far. This book is perfect for the fans of Christina Lauren and Emma Hart and basically for fans who enjoy a good book.
I am very excited for its release on april 9th. Hope you all are too. Thanks for reading hope ot helped you to decide to give it a go though Helena Hunting has a seperate fan base of its own.
