I really enjoyed reading this book. This biography has everything family secrets, music, famous musicians, and music history. Most of the book centers on his Grandmother Lea Luboshutz, a famous violinist in Russia and later in the US. While researching her life the author uncovers some family secrets. Lea and her family used music as a way to make their lives better in Russia. After the revolution Lea 's music helped her family escape and supported them in their new home. When the family moves to the US Lea becomes involved in the Curtis Institute of Music. Music was always important and central to the entire family and other members of the family are just as successful as Lea was. The author has done a lot of research. Despite the large cast of the characters the book is very easy to read and holds your interest. Enjoy discovering this musical family.
