Not my favorite Tessa Bailey, but I can see the appeal for some people.

Received in exchange for an honest review.

Sweetly humorous and even a bit silly.
I enjoyed the story of the family youngest in love with her brothers best friend all her life. The road to the hea was fairly Rocky and contrived but it got there eventually. Just felt like I'd read it before...with the exception of her being an actual clown, that was certainly different.

I'm a little conflicted about this book. It's very, very trope heavy - fake relationship, childhood crush returns, virgin, dominating manwhore, blah blah blah - and in the end, all of those on top of each other took away from the great parts about this book just a little.

Georgie is a great character. She's quirky, fun, and has a good head on her shoulders. I couldn't take her seriously as a literal clown, but I get that it was meant to enforce the fact that no one takes her seriously. A little heavy-handed, but ok, I can ignore it. I'd definitely join the Just Us League to hang out with her.

What I couldn't ignore is some of the most cringe-worthy sex scenes. Not necessarily from the actual sex - that was sufficiently hot - but from Travis's TERRIBLE dirty talk, and Georgie's sudden insane sexuality. "With her head tipped back, knees in the dirt, a man using her mouth, she'd never felt more like a woman." NO. 0% can relate to this feeling. "I got big...and you got tight." ALSO NO THANKS, TRAVIS.

Ignoring these sort-of minor annoyances (besides the cringe-y sex stuff - that was fairly constant) I did enjoy this book. It was a little expected, but a fun read. I've never read Tessa Bailey before, but I can see myself picking up another one of her books when I'm in the mood for a sex-heavy romance, which is pretty often, to be honest. I just don't think Fix Her Up will be added to my list of favorites, despite the high hopes I had for it going off the cover and description.

Wow. I loved this book. Georgie has been in love with her older brothers best friend since she hit puberty...he thought of her like a kid sister. Travis grew up and went on to play Major League Baseball until an injury sent him into early retirement and back to his hometown. When he gets home he finds Georgie all grown up, and exactly what he needs.

This book was funny, sweet, and incredibly sexy. I loved the transition of their relationship, it was perfect.

This book started off strong, with characters that were likable and felt real (although I will admit, I expected Georgie to be more of a party planner than an actual birthday party clown from the blurb...). The romantic tension (and the "relief" of that tension) was more amped up than most books I've read (there are no "fade to black" moments here!). Most of the background characters and a few subplots could have been fleshed out a bit more or dropped completely, but background characters & subplots aren't really why we read romance novels, are they?
When I made it to 91% and the main characters still hadn't fallen into the "break up to make up" trope, I was encouraged. Even when it *did* happen, the author had earned my trust enough for me to ride it out and see where she took it. But, unfortunately, she took it to a sudden public (televised!) declaration of love and *proposal* from a man who had just told his girlfriend that he wanted to work up to feeling like he could be a husband and father...while she was miles away and possibly not even watching. The ending left me a bit deflated, as I was hoping it would be as good as the rest of the book. Without the rushed, unfulfilling, and out-of-character ending, I would have given this book a 5-star rating...but the ending was so out-of-left-field (forgive the baseball terminology), it knocked it down to about a 3.5.

3.5 Stars

Tessa Bailey's books are usually hit-or-miss for me, but I was cautiously optimistic after reading the first (fantastic) chapter! Georgie's spunk and can't-get-me-down attitude really drew me into the story from the first moment we meet her, goading our hero into getting his life back together.

I really felt for Georgie and her struggle to be seen as more than just a "kid" by her parents, siblings, and clients. She's started a successful business as a party clown (amazing! really loved this unexpected occupation), but wanted to change her image to appear more businesslike for her expansion plan. There is the quintessential makeover scene that - on the surface - is for her new businesswoman image, but turns out to be the eye-opening moment for Travis where he sees her as a desirable woman. THAT I have a problem with. I didn't want Georgie to change for Travis.

As soon as Travis and Georgie agree to a fake relationship - that really seems one-side in the benefits department - Georgie's plans to expand her business are forgotten, the office space search pushed under the rug and never mentioned again.

I also have a pet-peeve about heroines who are virginal being committed to a manwhore who never knew they existed. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind when our main girl is a virgin, but I couldn't figure out why Georgie was attracted to Travis in the first place. He followed her older brother's lead and treated her like a pest when they were children and she hasn't seen him since she was in middle school.

I wish there were a a few moments in their childhood where they connected to make her commitment to him believable. She had no clue about his less-than-steller family history until someone else told her much later in the story. They don't have the same goals in life and don't seem to have much in common besides wanting to prove their respective families wrong.

Which brings me to the ending. It was cliche in the worst way. A declaration of love that happens on live television where the MC's aren't even physically near each other? It was such a let down! Of course he did a complete turn-around in less than a week after screwing up, pulling out the big guns and declaring that he wants to be a family man all of a sudden. I think Travis needed more time to focus on himself and really think about what he wanted out of life before proposing to Georgie. She could have also used that time to really launch the expansion of her party business. It was rushed and unsatisfactory.

A strong beginning, but the story lost its direction and landed in cliche territory fairly quick.

Georgie gets all of my stars since she was the absolute best part about this book!

This is Travis and Georgie book, Travis is an ex MLB player they got traded to different teams almost more than he changed his socks! His baseball career ended with a bad injury, now he knows just like his father always told him he'll never amount to anything! His best friends little sister Georgie comes over to snap him out of his stupor! They've all been friends since childhood but Georgie always had a secret crush on Travis ! This book was good definitely worth reading but not my favorite of Tessa, it's a little low on the heat chart , it was funny and has a good story line but was just missing something for me! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me! I love Tessa books!! She's such a sweetheart I've met her a bunch of times at different signings I will definitely continue to read her books!

As the youngest sibling and (literal) clown of the family, Georgie Castle is used to no one taking her seriously. But when longtime crush and former childhood friend Travis Ford is back in town, she sees a chance to convince her family that she's all grown up by embarking on a fake relationship with him. Fix Her Up is all about rebuilding and empowerment, both in Georgie's love life and self-esteem and Travis's attempts to become a better person. I loved the steamy romance, but even more, I loved Georgie's flying feet first attitude to growing up. Highly recommended for fans of Sally Thorne and Christina Lauren!

"Fix Her Up" is the story of Georgie Castle and her long time crush, her brother's best friend (Travis). After Travis is injured, Georgie makes it her personal goal to bring him back to the land of the living. When Travis needs help cleaning up his wild image, Georgie is happy to help....and maybe scores some action on the side. This book is funny, endearing, and admittedly a little more spicy than I expected. If "dirty talk" in bed isn't your thing, you might want to skip it, but otherwise this isn't a story to be missed.

Fix Her Up is such a great read. Georgie is a fun woman who grows up throughout this story. I love how both Travis and Georgie help make each other stronger and more focused on their goals. Travis is a former baseball, player struggling to get back on his feet. Georgie is perpetually stuck in the little sister role in her town. I love how they make each other better. Their relationship is very well written and romantic,

I surprisingly enjoyed Fix Her Up. Sure, the storyline is predictable, but I enjoyed it all the same. And romance novels with the fake dating trope are always a win in my book. Georgie and Travis are cute, and they have sizzling chemistry. However, I could not get past the clown thing... Georgie being a professional clown was just weird. Overall, it was a light, cute read, and I’m curious to read more of Tessa Bailey’s books.

This was just an amazing read!! Georgie Castle is the youngest in the Castle clan, and is often overlooked and always seen as the kid sister that no one takes seriously. It doesn’t help that she’s a children’s birthday clown. Travis Ford is a former professional baseball player and womanizer with the nickname “Two Bats”. Travis has the opportunity to become a commentator for a baseball team, but he needs to shed his past ways and be seen as a family centered and likeable guy. Georgie devises a plan that requires them to be a fake couple to help her be seen as more of an adult and show that Travis is a one woman man. The only hiccup is that Georgie has been in love with Travis since she was a kid.

Who knew I could relate to a clown so much? Every disappointment that Georgie receives, you feel it immensely. I was on the verge of tears for Georgie in the beginning of the book. She was an incredibly likeable character and I wanted the best for her from the beginning.

Tessa Bailey is a master at creating a strong and unique female protagonist with a blend of sassiness, vulnerability, and inner strength that have readers connected and invested from the very beginning of a novel. In this novel, Bailey extended her craftsmanship to the male protagonist with many of the same elements of vulnerability and toughness. The stellar character development, interesting family dynamics, flawless story pacing and conflict evolution, and the complex relationship between the main characters all weave together to create another Tessa Bailey masterpiece. To be honest, you can never go wrong when you purchase a Tessa Bailey novel.

Five swoon-worthy stars!

Tessa Bailey brought the HEAT yet again with another winner. In true Bailey style, she put together two destined hotties in a delicious romp! I loved the story (who doesn't love a childhood crush turning into something more?) and the love scenes were SO HOT!

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

There was a lot of potential for this story. Fake dating tropes are always my weakness but about halfway thru the book I lost interest. I blame the background characters. They took me out of the story and I felt it didn't add anything to the story when they were around. The romantic leads were fun but I didn't feel much when the happy ending was presented. I was entertained but I was also indifferent at the end.

I loved this book. Travis has always doubted his worth and Georgie has always had a crush on him. Watching as Georgie shows Travis the man he can be was moving and emotional and funny and very hot. I wish I could read it for the first time all over again.

Don’t let the drawn, cutesy cover fool you, Tessa Bailey brings the heat with Fix Her Up. Her first book in a new series.

Georgie wants to be taken seriously by her family and seen as an adult. Travis needs respectability to be considered for a broadcast position after his baseball career and his playboy ways come to an abrupt halt. Bring on the fake girlfriend/boyfriend.

Georgie embarks on a plan to redo her image. New clothes, new hair, new business plan.

Georgie, her sister and a friend start the Just Us Club.

“The point of this club is to support and encourage each other. Yes, we’re also taking a firm stand against the men in our lives being dicks and leaving them behind if necessary, but we have to give new men a chance to be dicks before shun them.”

This club and the support these women give each other is as essential to this story as the romance of Georgie and Travis. This is the idea that will bind this book series together.

If you’ve read Tessa Bailey books before you know she has lots of sexy time with some raw language. That may or may not be to your taste, but in Fix Her Up she writes characters that show real growth and maturity as the story develops. She writes main and supporting characters you begin to really care about. The story is engaging. The banter is charming and witty.

Cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins for the ARC

This was a cute and quirky romance between family friends and brothers best friend, Travis and Georgie. Georgie is a strong and independant woman in her early 20's. She has just bought a house in hers small town and the book opens with her having a food fight of sorts with Travis as he is very upset about being dumped from playing baseball because of an injury.

Georgie has loved Travis forever and this is her story how they fake diet to get everyone off their backs. It was cute, and fun and Georgie was a really fun character.

Tessa Bailey has created an adorable romance book with clowns, a brooding hero, and a family dynamic that you will want to be apart of. I loved our heroine, she was the kind of feisty and weird that feels refreshing but also relatable.
