Hannah Richell has written an enjoyable book about a grandmother and her granddaughter who has returned to her crumbling old mansion to care for her. The book alternates between the past and the present; Lillian's life in the past with Maggie's grandfather in their beautiful mansion, Cloudsley, and Maggie in present day, who has some secrets of her own. This is a very atmospheric read, I would highly recommend it.

Good historical novel. I thoroughly enjoyed especially the relationship between the main character and her granddaughter. Will recommend to my friends and library patrons.
