Joy need to save her ranch from her father-in-law and only she see fit would be getting married. She didn't see any other way. So when gorgeous man Nate shows up at her door looking for ranch hand job, she thought he was applying for the job as her husband.
Nate wanted to be a better man than his reputation from being called playboy, trouble maker, womanizer. He really wanted steady job and turn his life around. But he never expected a ranch hand and someone's husband. When he hears Joy's story, he wanted to help her and this would turn his reputation around.
Now they will need each other to rely on and support yet both have their doubts and it is getting in the way for them. When Joy sees Nate with her sister, she thinks the worst and they do have past history.
Her father-in-law will do everything to take her ranch from her. When all she wants to do is to keep her ranch for her and her son.
Can they trust each other enough to keep the ranch. It won't be easy for both.
It was good story of starting over for both. I love Joy's son, he was so sweet to Nate and their interaction was super cute.
Thanks to Netgalley and Tule publishing for my ARC in exchange for honest review.

The second book in this series has Nate Hansen working on changing his ways and his image. He finds though that the people in town still see him as what he was.
Joy Mitchell is working and working every day but she feels like she is getting nowhere. Her father-in-law is after the ranch she lives on with her son his grandson, but he feels that it belongs to him though her husband willed it to her and his boy. Now she has lost the last set of wranglers once again she is desperate for help, so she puts an ad in the paper looking for a husband.
Nate is being let go at another ranch and asks if anyone knows of work. They tell him of her ranch. Once there he meets Joy and the little boy who takes a liking to right away. He begins to work and later stopping for lunch Joy realizes that he does not know the terms. She also is wondering what about his playboy ways and that her sister and he went on a few dates a year ago.
Once Nate thinks about everything he agrees, this does not stop the problems for either of them. People in town use his past to try to harm his future, which also harms Joy. What they don’t know is that it begins to drive them closer, only will they stay together at the end of the agreement. Read this very good story to find out.

A nice, fun feel-good read, Ann B. Harrison's The Convenient Cowboy offers up a new retelling of the marriage of convenience trope that proves highly entertaining. Definitely looking forward to more from this author!

I liked this book, but I didn't love it.

I think the romance aspect moved far too quickly between Nate and Joy. I don't think their relationship was adequately developed enough to where when those three little words were exchanged that it didn't feel like a surprise.

Cute story. Nice flip from the traditional "rancher needs wife" story line. Very quick read, a couple of hours. I'll look into more from this author.

Joy Mitchell is in need of a husband. Her husband is dead and she has an 18 month old son. Her father-in-law is determined to take away her farm. He has managed to buy off all the men she had hired to help her with the ranch. She figures if she has a husband, he is less likely to run off.

Nate Hansen has a bad boy reputation. He has managed to sleep with a variety of women and never committed to any of them. He needs a job and he has been trying really hard to change his ways and improve his reputation. When he hears that Joy needs to hire a full time ranch hand, he seeks her out. When he finds out the job is as a husband, he agrees. Would this be a marriage in name only or was there more possibility? As they both fight against Ryan Mitchell, their bond gets stronger and they begin to see the possibility of more but will they ever be able to let go of secrets and trust each other?

I really liked the story very much. I loved that Nate worked really hard to show everyone how he had changed and how protective he was of Joy and her son, Toby. The things I didn't like were the occasional f-bombs. In my opinion, they detracted from the story. There was one descriptive sex scene at the end of the book and while it demonstrated a progress in their relationship, I didn't need the details.

I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed this book. It is the second book in the series about the Hansen brothers. I did not read the first book but have read the fourth book. I’ve read other books by this author too. The plot was good, it was exciting. This book is about Nate Hansen who is trying to improve his reputation as a wild womanizer. He needs a job. He’s told about a job on Joy Mitchell’s ranch. She is a widow with a 7 year old son. When he gets to her ranch, Joy tells Nate he has to marry her, not just work the ranch. He agrees and they are married the next day. She explains to him how her father in law wants to take her ranch now her husband is dead. He died of cancer. He was given the ranch by his maternal grandmother. He wanted Joy to live there and raise their son and farm the way they wanted to. The FIL has pulled all sorts of things with the ranch hands she had hired so she will have to give up the ranch to him. Once the father in law finds out she’s married and to Nate, he “finds” a newer will from the grandmother giving the ranch to him. Joy and Nate go to his brothers wife Sadie, an attorney to help them sort out the legal issues.
Every time Nate goes into town the FIL has him set up to get into trouble with the sheriff for fighting. The lawyer has told them to keep their noses clean and she keeps getting into trouble. Nate used to date Joy’s selfish sister and she isn’t happy he married Joy. She was happy to take money from the FIL to get Nate into trouble. During all the trials they go through, Nate and Joy fall in love but don’t let the other know. There are some great storyline twists in this book. I enjoyed it and recommend it.

4.5 Stars!

I love marriage of convenience romances, and The Convenient Cowboy by Ann B. Harrison is a wonderful addition to the trope. This is a nicely-written book, replete with well-defined characters, some intense situations, and an adorable toddler who is mimicking his first words. This story focuses on ranch-hand Nate Hansen, and Joy Mitchell, a widowed mom with an organic ranch to run.

Joy is on the verge of losing her mind as well as her ranch. Ryan, her father-in-law, is an ogre, and he wants the ranch that was bequeathed to her in her late husband's will. Although they both lost a loved one, Ryan's maliciousness knows no bounds. So after exhausting all of her options, Joy decides to hire a husband. Although Joy is strong and independent, running a ranch and raising a toddler without any help is impossible. Somebody legally bound to her will be much more productive than an employee, and less apt to being lured away by Ryan and his henchmen.

Nash is finally leaving his days of womanizing, drinking and brawling behind, so he needs a steady job in order to begin his new life. He has no desire to become somebody's husband, however, he needs a job and no one else is hiring. In addition, Nash and Joy share an attraction, which makes his decision even easier. Nash's misgivings about being around a toddler are quickly forgotten, because Toby immediately latches onto him and it is fatherly love at first site.

This is quite an entertaining book. Joy is a wonderful woman who is saddled with family members that are cruel, and only out for themselves. Her luck takes a turn for the better when she marries Nash. Nash turns out to be a wonderful husband and father, despite his bad boy past. He stands by Joy's side through thick and thin, which only makes their developing feelings more tangible. This is the second book from The Hansen Brothers series and it can be enjoyed as a standalone.

Nate needs to leave his playboy reputation behind and find a permanent job. Having just been let go from his current ranch position, he is desperate. But just how desperate is the question. Joy is a widow with a toddler trying to keep her ranch which her father inlaw wants for himself. He keeps getting her ranch hands to quit on her. Her solution is a marriage of convenience. When Nate applies for her open position of ranch hand and she suggests a marriage of convenience with all the perks of a real marriage he has some serious thinking to do. Who could have predicted how things would end up? Good read!

Often times we’ll find exactly what we need when we weren’t even looking for it in the most unlikely places. THE CONVENIENT COWBOY gives us a delightful romance with a bit of a “mail order groom” spin on it that brings three people together who didn’t know they needed each other until fate or just dumb luck stepped in.

Nate has more than a bit of a reputation in his small town. While the decision to change his life around is an admirable one, small towns have long memories so it hasn’t been exactly easy to have people believe in his change of heart. Now Nate is also looking for work, and either there isn’t any to be found or the townsfolk are still believing in a past reputation… either way, Nate needs a job and desperate times often require desperate solutions… except he didn’t really know all this job would require – or if he was willing to make that choice.

Joy has reached the point of desperation. She has to save the ranch for her son’s future and her deceased husband’s legacy but it’s an uphill battle with her vindictive, manipulative father-in-law and keeping ranch hands around to work the ranch. She has a solution, but it’s going to take a strong man to accept his place as a marriage of convenience husband and a ranch hand that cannot simply up and walk away at a moment’s notice. She’s made up her mind to do what’s right for her family, now she just has to convince the one man who answered her ad that it’s in his best interests as well.

I enjoyed Nate and Joy’s unconventional romance and adored little Toby. Watching two adults fall in love and learn to work together for a common good was a delightful experience. There’s danger in THE CONVENIENT COWBOY and there’s also humor, acceptance and a second chance to find that love of a lifetime but they both have to be willing to go all in and trust each other. If you love a good old fashioned romance with a few interesting twists then you’ll enjoy not only this story but the entire series as well.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

A marriage of convenience for both Nate and Joy. Nate needs to redeem himself from his past and Joy needs help saving her ranch from her father in law. I so enjoyed the development of these characters. N.ate will do anything to help Joy and her son, Toby (such a cutie) in saving the ranch. Joy will soon realize that she can open her heart again to Nate.

This is the second book in the Hanson Brothers but can be read as a stand alone.

The second book in The Hansen Brothers, The Convenient Cowboy brings us Nate and Joy. I really liked this story, fabulous characters and an engaging plot made this a wonderful overall read. I look forward to reading more of this series and by this author

Watching the Hansen brothers turn their lives around as well as holding onto their grandfather’s ranch has been a pleasure to experience. The Convenient Cowboy by Ann B. Harrison is book 2 in the series. It is just as good as the first one. Nate has a reputation that he honestly earned but is now trying to change his wild ways. Joy is in need of a ranch hand who will work while also stand by her side. Sounds like the perfect match doesn’t it?

Of course, there are stipulations that go far beyond the usual ranch hand job description. It is those twists in the story that serves to make this such an enjoyable read. Different from the usual must help out the ranch widow story. Just what this Hansen brother needs.

Overall, I thought Ann B. Harrison “The Convenient Cowboy” was your average cowboy romance. It wasn't anything spectacular so I was surprised by most of the ratings. Obviously I'm not saying it was awful, it was a cute story filled with relatable characters and nice premise. Nice read but definitely nothing to rave about.

The Convenient Cowboy by Ann B. Harrison
The Hansen Brothers #2

Nate Hansen needs a job
Joy Mitchell needs a ranch hand that won’t leave
She’s at the end of her rope
She’s a widow and mother of a toddler
She’s running out of steam
He might be able to help her on the ranch and keep it away from a conniving relative
BUT
Is a marriage of convenience really the only way to solve their problems?
Read the book and see.

I liked the dynamics between Nate, Joy and Toby. The romance was slow growing and by the time they truly sealed the deal they knew one another well enough to have a good chance at a future together. I have to say that I didn’t see them as a couple in the beginning or understand the reason for the marriage as I have in other marriage of convenience romances but it is also difficult to write a more modern day book of this genre with a truly convincing reason for the marriage...or so it seems. The villains were a bit over the top as was Joy’s sister. The plot was somewhat predicable and yet...I did enjoy the story and found myself hoping that Nate, Joy and Toby would get their HEA.

Thank you to NetGalley and Tule Publishing for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Loved this one, thought it was so nice you really got to know how both Joy and Nate were feeling as they go into their marriage of convenience.
Nate thought he was going to apply for a job helping a widow run her ranch, but Joy wanted marriage so her hand couldn’t be hired away from her.
Wow talk about a reversal of a mail order Bride, made a very interesting read with the icing on the cake being Nate’s relationship with Joy’s son Toby, oh how that just warmed my heart and kept me turning the pages.

If you can buy the premise, this is a nice entry in the convenient marriage-trope romance category. Nate just needs a job. Joy needs a husband to help her fight off her evil father-in-law who is trying the property that deceased husband left to her to protect for her adorable son. They agree to marry and Nate experiences family-love as he falls for his convenient wife and just totally loves Toby, her son.

I enjoyed the growing affection between Joy and Nate as they find ways to build a life together. It helps that Nate’s sister-in-law is their lawyer and she’s willing to do what it takes to help them fight off the evil father-in-law. You know where this is going all the time, but it was still fun to follow along.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

The Convenient Cowboy is the second story in Ann Harrison’s Hansen Brothers series. Set in Montana, this sweet contemporary western works well as a stand-alone story though if you’ve read book one you’ll have a better idea of who’s who the page.
I enjoyed this marriage of convenience story, which sees Nate Hansen answering Joy Mitchell’s advertisement for a husband. With a love them and leave them reputation as well as a history of brawling, Nate is hardly postcard husband material but he’s determined to prove his worth and helping Joy raise her infant son and run the ranch her husband left her when he died is just what he needs. For Joy, keeping and running the ranch by herself has been a monumental struggle and Nate is her last chance to keep her bullying father in law from pushing her out of her home.
There were a few things about this story that irritated me. A lot of the dialogue just didn’t seem quite real, and I wasn’t entirely convinced by some of the characters, Joy’s father in law Ryan Mitchell and her sister Cassie being the main offenders. Having said that, I was very definitely invested in Joy and Nate and keen to see them find their happy ever after.

The second novel in the Hansen Brothers series is a good one. It tells of the redemption of brother number two, Nate, from man whore, player to unexpected husband and father. All Nate really wants for his life is to turn the thing around by working hard and proving his worth to the people who only see his notorious past. Enter Joy Mitchell, a young widow with am eighteen month old son. She is desperately trying to hold onto her husband’s farm and keep her mean, bully father-in-law from getting his hands on it. Her plan involves a newspaper ad husband and Nate takes the job. Their battles with the in-law are not over. They are just beginning.
