This book came to me at just the right time. My father is faltering, thanks to Alzheimer's. And my mother has been left with care-taking duties. Living several states away, my role is limited. I've long sought for a way to encourage my mother - knowing that if she is stressed and strained, it is my father who will suffer most. I shared many of these prayers with my mother. Not only did she benefit from the messages, but I also came to understand more of the struggles my mother is dealing with on a daily basis. My mother has indicated several times that the person who wrote this book definitely has experience in care-giving because the prayers were very much on point with my mother's own experiences. I would highly recommend this book for caretakers as well as those people who are providing emotional support to caretakers.
This is a beautiful book that helps articulate the prayers into words when caregivers feel weary with the challenges of this role weighing on their hearts. I am a caregiver for my husband who is a disabled veteran. It is difficult some days when I realize that this role will continue for the rest of our lives. We are both in our early 30's and our lifestyle does not match that of our peers. I notice that of all caregivers though. When someone is giving of their love and time to help someone else in their time of need, they often give all they have. This book is a great way to set aside 5 minutes a day to invest in taking care of yourself. I recommend it because I believe that praying is a great way to let God minister to our hearts. I am excited that this book exists and I will be buying copies for my fellow caregiver friends because I know that we all need this in our lives.

“A collection of devotions and prayers to meet you where you are.”
This is a perfect description for this book filled with encouragement for caregivers. The book is organized in a way that provides the inspiration you may need during a particular stressful time. She provides a biblical excerpt and expresses her interpretation for hope. Similarly, she provides a “Dear God” plea to God for strength.
A powerful and inspiring book for those of us enduring the stress associated with caring for others.
My grandfather is in end-stage Alzheimers and I am one of his caregivers so this really was a useful read for me. It's so overwhelming and draining and makes you feel helpless to be in this situation. These short prayers were perfect when it's too much to even try to put into words what you're feeling. I can't wait for it to be out so I can share with my family.
