A Place to Belong is a story to rock your world. The story deals withs a difficult subject and I really felt for Hanako. A Place to Belong is a great book for discussion and lends itself to talking about the little known parts of history. I could see myself recommending this book to students who enjoy Number the Stars and books about World War II.
