I received an arc of this title for honest feedback, and I could not get into this book. I will definitely try again, and we have a copy at the library, but at the time, I couldn't get into it.

Russian grandma wants his grandson to find love and she is willing to do anything even if she will crash her car...
Jase wanted his family off his back from meddling with his love life. So he fibbed a lie so his family will leave him alone for awhile, but he never thought his family (his grandmother) will actually cause a crash.
Heather owns a cookie store and she enjoys baking interesting adult cookies. She has been down in luck in relationships and she wanted to live a happy single life for awhile. Her cookie store was right in front of Jase and she seen him shaking his hips while making flower arrangements. Ever so often, he would ask her out but she always turned him down. She never thought she would find her joke with Jase was more than just a joke.
Now his family is trying to get them back even though they were never together and she is trying to recruit him to help with her prom for Senior at senior home.
Grandma Babushka is having issues with his family so decides to move in with Heather. Now Heather and Jase is trying to keep their family sane and keep his grandma happy.. While trying to keep the peace, they decided to explore their feelings.
Everything is going smoothly until everything falls apart.
Grandma Babushka is feisty, funny, meddling and funniest from this book. Every time she speaks, you totally hear her accents. It made me laugh out loud.. She is unlike other grandmas. She is most interesting character and his family is a bit nuts. It was perfect summer read. I can't wait to read the next one.
Thanks to Netgalley and victory Editing co-op for my ARC in exchange for honest review.

I think this is the third Christina Hovland book I got to read thanks to Netgalley, and I just can’t get enough! Just the kind of funny, fluffy read I was in the mood for!

Some other thoughts I’m having right now:
1. Babuschka is the most awesome grandma ever
2. Jase is just so swoon-worthy
3. Can someone find me a recipe for penis-shaped cookies?
4. Dear lord those steamy scenes were hot

This was a good read. The writing flowed well, and I liked Jase and Heather together. Jase was a good guy, but let his family rule his life. Even though he has his reasons, it's a turn off for a guy that's over the age of 18. Heather had a good heart, but she let her past rule her. She jumped to conclusions more than once. Her obsession with the "senior" prom, and making it the same as her high school prom she didn't go to was too much for me. I didn't go to prom either, and I couldn't tell you what the theme of it was supposed to be. Jase and Heather did have good chemistry, and they brought out the best in each other. Jase's family was nuts, but it seemed like his grandma really did want the best for him. I liked the group of friends that was there for each of them. The ending was super sweet, and I was happy they get their HEA.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

I love Hovland's writing!

I was expecting a hilarious read and that's what I got.

It was a delight to read from the first sentence to the last page! His whole family, especially Babushka, are crazy! It is a fun of epic proportions, each chapter an unexpected surprise filled with misunderstood situations, grandma's weird escapades and penis-shaped cookies.

Don't have a lot to say except that I recommend this book to anyone who loves to laugh during reading!

5 stars.

This book was an absolute delight!

"Blow Me Away" was a fun loving romance that had me hooked from the very beginning. I loved Jase and Heather's relationship. There were many humorous moments I loved all aspects of this book from the characters to the storyline. This was my first Christina Hovland novel and it won't be my last.

I received a complimentary digital copy of this novel at my own request from the publisher via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

I totally loved this book. It made me laugh (out loud at a restaurant solo where I garnered a few strange looks). There were parts that made me sniffle. This book looked so intriguing when I first downloaded it that I went and got my hands on the first book in the series. I really try not to pick up a series midway (ok, it's only book 2, but still).

Heather has sworn off men. She's the good time girl, not the 'forever' girl. Don't get me wrong, Heather is not the girl who goes through men like tissues - she really tries to have long term relationships, they just don't seem to work out.... Jace has returned from the military and is working through the loss of his teammates as well as the demise of his marriage. Throw in his meddling family and you have a great rom-com.

There are a series of really funny events and interactions with Jace's extended family that were soooo funny.

One example:
"That's not entirely true." Heather brushed at her jeans.
"What's not?"
"Well, it's just that an inappropriate cookie bouquet being delivered to a funeral home because an old lady decided o go all Grantd Theft Auto on a deliery van isn't really something that 'just happens'".

Great writing style. Great characters. And, of course, you get an outstanding HEA.

Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Blow Me Away is a fun loving romance that had me hooked from the very beginning. I enjoyed Jase and Heather's relationship from the very beginning. Jase's family keeps you in stitches with all of their antics, especially Jase's grandmother. Heather has sworn off men, that is until Jase tears down the walls that she has built around herself. I loved every aspect of this book from the storyline to the characters. What tugged at my heartstrings was when Jase showed up for Heather in his dress uniform. I was a blubbering mess. This was my first Christina Hovland story and it won't be my last. I was sad when the story came to an end because I wanted so much more of Heather and Jase.

Blow Me Away by Christina Hovland is the 2nd book in the Mile High Matched series, and my first book by this author. First of all I live an hour away from Denver, so I was excited to read this book, and I was not disappointed. Not only is this book a romance, it is funny. Jase, the hot florist, former Navy bomb disarm expert, and Heather the cookie-baker are a cute couple. The best character is Jase's grandmother, Babushka, she had me laughing out loud. I recommend this book if your looking for a hot and funny romance.

I reviewed an advanced galley from Netgalley and the publisher. Thank you.

Funny, swoon-worthy, heartwarming romance. An unforgettable story and incredible addition to this series. These characters were funny, relatable and real, making it an addictive page turner I couldn’t get enough of. Definitely be re-reading this book again in the future. Definitely a new favourite book/series. I highly recommend this book, series and author to all book lovers out there

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this book. This book definitely was a surprise. It had more depth and humour than I expected from an accidental romance between a florist and cookie maker.
The drama that pushed them apart were actual real issues which was nice to see.
Babushka was hilarious and definitely made the story, and the side characters also added to the fun.
Very enjoyable novel. It'll be one they won't forget about anytime soon.

This was the first book I have read by Christina Hovland and I loved it. I loved her writing style and will definitely be reading more from her. Jase and Heather were the perfect main characters. I could feel their chemistry while I was reading, which is rare for me. I loved this twist on the fake relationship trope and really found myself rooting for them to work. There were parts of the story that made me actually laugh out loud and there were also parts that made me tear up. To me that is what makes this a great romantic comedy. I definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a fun, sexy read.

This book is appropriately named, because it blew me away with how funny, sweet and romantic it is! I wasn’t sure what to expect going into the book (thank you NetGalley, for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review), but I was entranced with it from the very beginning.

Blow Me Away follows the story of Heather and Jase, two people who have known each other for a while because of mutual friends. Heather has been in a relationship until recently, so they’ve gotten to know each other a bit but haven’t explored the chemistry between them. When Jase tells a little white lie to get his grandmother off his back - that he dated Heather and she broke his heart - things escalate quickly in the funniest of ways. It’s sort of an anti-fake relationship book, in that the two are supposed to be exes when in fact they have never dated. All of this leads to some very funny, very romantic, and very steamy moments. I loved the book and can’t wait to read more from this author.

Blow Me Away is the second book in Christina Hovland’s A Mile High Matched series. I have not read the first book in this series, but I did not feel that was an issue in any way to understanding the characters or following the plot.

Blow Me Away is a fun book filled with witty banter and interfering family. Jase is a former bomb expert, who was divorced by his wife the minute he returned from his Navy term. He has issues including PTSD. Now he owns a florist shop. After all, flowers don’t explode! Heather is the owner of a cookie shop that specializes in x-rated cookies. Her bakery is across the street from Jase’s shop. Jase’s family is very involved in his life and now his grandmother wants to interfere in his non-existent love life! What spews from Jase to get her to back off, puts Heather in her cross-hairs! After all, Heather is not going to get involved with anyone right now, so she won’t mind helping him! As the two spend time together, they discover there is an attraction that’s getting harder to ignore.

I found this book was a fun, entertaining twist on the fake-relationship (non-relationship) troupe. I was intrigued when I read the blurb, and I was not disappointed. The quirky characters in Jase’s family make this a truly laugh out loud story. My only issue was that Heather seemed to defer to Jase at times where I expected her to stand up for herself, or rightfully be upset.

This story is well-paced, and the faux romance didn’t feel forced to me. I love the crazy cast of characters that make up Jase’s family! Blow Me Away is the second book in a series, as Jase and Heather are friends of the couple in book #1. However, I didn’t feel as if I was missing story from not having read the previous book, so it is a true standalone.

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review an ARC of this book and I am providing my honest review.

Jase Dvornakov has left the Navy where he used to disarmed bombs. Now back home in his small town, his Russian family believe it is time for him to find a wife. Owning a florist shop he has begun to ask the cookie lady from across the way out, she has declined each time. Heater Reese is only worried about her cookies and her business, her love life is on the very back burner and as for Jase the flower guy she thinks he is a player. Jase’s bomb is blown to bits when he tells his Babushka that they broke up. The next morning his Babushka comes driving down main street heading right for her pink cookie van, you got it she wrecks it. There the story takes over with Babushka working at putting the two of them together and getting herself into a lot of different situations that his family blames her for. In this story, it is the guy that is having problems and when she walks away he must deal with all that he had not dealt with since returning home, or not get the woman. Babushka keeps this story moving along at a breath neck pace and the story overall is good with good characters. Very much worth the read.

A hilarious romantic comedy with colorful characters, a witty banter and sparkling wit! I had so much fun with Jase and Heather. There was definitely craziness in the air but so much love as well.

I was entertained from the beginning to the end. A fun ride where Jase and Heather fell in love but their relationship didn’t stay the usual way. Pretending a fake breakup seemed to be a great idea for Jase, with an overprotective and intrusive family but it needed just some meddling from his very wild grandma to turn his world upside down.

Heather was his match, holding to perfection how to handle the hotness going on. To challenge him like no one else, making him craving for more cookies and everything. But was she strong enough to put with the crazy? With Jase’s family, be prepared to face improbable dinners, obtrusive and stubborn people who cared and protected their own a bit too fiercely and sometimes not really facing the consequences of their behavior.

Everything started with a fake relationship and took a U-turn wild ride. All the pretending became a lot too real. It was so much fun and hilarious, sweet and so darn cute.

I adored the no filter tone and also the hilarious and crazy situations they had to face. I became such a fan of Christina Hovland’s Mile High universe. I didn’t what to expect as the story unfolded. She just nailed it. A hilarious romantic comedy, with amazing characters and a lot of swooning coming your way. Can’t wait for more!!!

4 In the End, All's Well Stars
* * * * Spoiler Free
I was stunned by Going Down on One Knee (Mile High Matched #1), the first entry to this series. Christina Hovland was a "New to Me" author and her humor and heart was front and center. I was taken on a journey and enjoyed every step. Blow Me Away (Mile High Matched #2) continues the feel of humor and heart. It has its own flavor and if you are willing to buy into what is given, heat and heart will be there.

What I found most charming was the hook flip. Most of the time, there is a fake relationship, engagement or even marriage. Never have I read a fake Break-Up...Yes, you heard me right...

We have Jase Dvornakov- a war hero who specialized in defusing bombs. This is a man who was able to steel his nerves to where they almost did exist, to have the where with all to figure out which cord to clip to stop a bomb while under enemy attacks. Jase's fingers would work their magic and he barely broke a sweat.

Now dealing with his in your face family with their constant push to find a woman, marry her, and give grandbabies... that is a whole other type of torture. His immediate family, brothers and infamous grandmother are determined to have him in a relationship "for his own good".

The joke is Jase has no trouble connecting with women. He Loves Women. He just doesn't want to be married. The last time he was, his heart was broken. It was a pain he does not want to experience again. So fun, yes. Each person enjoying their time together, sure. But nothing serious.

Heather Reese is done with men. She has had too many duds and heartache is an ingredient she will not have in her successful bakery. She has taken all of her frustration and focused on her cookies. She has taken the shop and expanded it with making X-Rated cookies for her customers online and locally. She has her circle of friends and stays away from any romance.

She has seen Jase, though. He came back from the Navy, a beautiful specimen of man...But he also has a reputation of enjoying all of the women, too. She will not fall into that trap.

Her resolve to not fall for Jase is tested when she is standing in front of the florist shop where Jase is rocking out while putting a bouquet together. He is dancing around, free and moving those hips like no one's business. It is almost hypnotic...Heather clears her mind of all naughty thoughts and lets Jase know she is there. She is a little tongue-tied but gets out the reason for her to be there. She has been working with the assisted living home and wanted to do something special for them. She had presented a proposal for a Senior Prom for the residents. By going to all the shops and vendors in the town, she is looking for donations and putting the poster in the shop window.

Heather finally gets this out and Jase is enjoying his time with her. They banter a bit and then it gets even more fun with Heather shooting down any flirting by Jase. She says nothing will come of it, he pushes no, it could be good and before you know it... a whole relationship has verbally been played out before it ever happened. It is like a conversation dance, with flirting fun and an undercurrent of interest. Jase takes the poster, says he will donate and Heather goes to open her bakery.

Now the flower shop is family owned and all of his family is involved. He loves them but wishes they would stay out of his personal business. His grandmother, Babushka, is a force of nature. She is elderly but vital. You do not disappoint her, talk back to her and you love her unconditionally. When she starts up again with having a possible fix up, Jase says he has just experienced a break-up with Heather and wasn't over it yet. He figures this will buy him some time before the dating push starts all over again.

Well, you know how a Butterfly waving its wings can cause all sorts of effects unrelated...Well, that butterfly had nothing on the fib Jase told his family...What happens next is like one of those domino videos you can see on YouTube...There is shock, romance to melt panties, friendships between generations, and frustrations galore.

These characters each had their moments to cause the reader a bit of frustration but overall they had so much going for them. Jase, I wanted to take him aside, have a Come to Jesus moment, and slap some sense into him. Heather was so giving and I appreciated her. Overall these two were able to figure out their obstacles and gave me what I wanted.

Although this is part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone. Christina Hovland can write the funny, sexy and warm. I will be looking to see what is next.
