'The Mutts Summer Diaries' by Patrick McDonnell is a collection of comics featuring a summer theme starring Earl and Mooch.
It's Summer and that means it's hot! It also means there is ice cream to be had and pools to cool off in. It also means a Summer vacation to the beach where Earl and Mooch meet some new creatures like a mussel and a really grouchy crab.
These are fun comics and a good collection for younger readers. The art style is pretty unique and I've enjoyed this series.
The Mutts Summer Diaries is a collection of comic strips, ideal for children and pet lovers.. The drawings are cute, but not all the strips are funny.
Thank you, NetGalley for the preview of this graphic novel.
The Mutts Summer Diaries by Patrick McDonnell was a very cute sampler and I would really be glad to get my hands on the rest of the book.
So Cute! I love all the shenanigans that Earl and Mooch get into and the summer season is so perfect for their mischief. I've been a Mutts fan for awhile and would love to share this book with my niece. Mutts is the escape and joy we need in a world where the news is so sad.
I received a copy of this arc from NetGalley for an honest review. This book is basically a graphic novel with the Mutt's comic stories. Kids will love the humor and as will adults.
Mutts is one of those comics that is just clean fun. It's safe for all ages to read and is easily relatable, even if the main characters are animals. I do wish there had been some longer comics in the collection, but all-in-all, it was an enjoyable read.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I love Mutts so very much! I read the strip religiously in my Sunday paper, I own all of the previous Mutts books, and even have Mutts apparel so I am definitely a Mutts fan.
This book continues the wonderfully sweet stories of Earl and Mooch and their friends and family. If you have ever loved a dog or cat, these delightfully darling cartoons will strike a chord with you. Just like pets, they are sweet, funny, and sometimes sad, but always entertaining.
Summer with The Mutts! These adorable pups will steal your heart. Cutely drawn and very entertaining. Fun, clean entertainment.
My thanks to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for an eARC copy of a sample of this book to read and review.
I didn't realize that this was only a sample of the book, so I think that disappointment colored my final star rating of this. It was classic Mutts. If you like the comic strip, then you will like this. I had one LOL moment that I had to show my SO regarding the shedding of the cat. So true! Other than that, in the sample, there wasn't a lot that was unexpected. Not bad, but average. 3 solid stars.
I didn't realize this was a brief sampler, so I can;t give a review on the entire book. Let's just say if you are a fan of Patrick McDonnell's whimsical characters, you'll enjoy having a collection of them on hand to peruse whenever -- and not just in your local paper.
The Mutt Summer Diaries by Patrick McDonnell is a very cute and funny selection of comics. This was a sampler.
This was fun and very enjoyable. I think this will be popular with fans and bring in new ones. Having been a fan for some time now I found this enjoyable and not at all repetitive. I felt like I was getting good material.
I got the 22 page sample from NetGalley but even that was enough to know that this is going to delight regular readers and those new to the series alike. Mooch and Earl are not very excited about summer starting so they're figuring out ways to exist whether being in the pool, enjoying a can of cool whip cream, or (somewhat accidentally) sleeping on a popsicle.
Four stars
This book will come out April 9

Opinions are my own
This was just a quick 22 page sampler, but the Mutts comics are always adorable. Plus, this one is centered around summer.
Even though I only recieved a sampler from Netgalley, the comics are nontheless really cute and funny, especially if one has pets.
A 5 star summer comic children AND adults can enjoy. The illustrations are super cute and the characters are so funny. I would read The Mutts any day!
If you are a fan of the Mutts series this is for you! The artwork is fantastic and the book is just fun. I definitely recommend!
The Mutts Summer Diaries from Patrick McDonnell is just what you would expect if you are already familiar with the strip.
I enjoy these collections of comic strips but always have a hard time putting into words why I give the rating I do. Basically, if you are familiar with the strip, like the strip, and like to read through a bunch of them in one sitting then the book will meet your expectations. Some are funnier than others, some might be more reflective than others. Such is the nature of a collection of anything, poems, short stories, essays, etc. All in all, these will satisfy any fan with the possible exception of those who just thrive on finding something negative. If you enjoy life, then you'll enjoy this.

Note: My review is based on a 22 pages sampler provided by the publisher, not the whole book.
I have read a few of The Mutts compilations as full books in the past and was excited to see this one and have a review copy. I was sad to find out that they were only offering it as a sampler, but that is better than nothing.
From the 22 pages that were offered, I found them fun and in the spirit of The Mutts. Mooch and Earl are themselves and planning for a hot summer with other animals and a pool.
These books are make up of comic strips that can be read as on-offs but also as the book is set up, as their summer months all together. It is a creative way to encompass all the summer issues in one place and I found them fun.
They have me longing for warmer weather.
