I don’t want to say much about this book but You Need To Read It! I guarantee you won’t figure it out!
Lots of twists and turns! #Netgalley

The Third Mrs. Durst was a dark thriller revolving around a girl who came from nothing and does whatever it takes to make sure she gets everything she wants. But becoming a rich man's wife has more consequences than she ever expected. This abusive, controlling, evil husband wants nothing more than to take his 3rd wife down, but not if she gets him first. While this book is indeed a page turner, it was a bit too violent and graphic for my taste. I found it just disturbing and it's not the type of story I typically go for. But for those who are not bothered by it, its a fantastic thriller! Thank you NetGalley, the author and publisher for an ARC of this book.

Marlena catches the eye if the rich and powerful Mr. michael First, becoming his third wife( the first two deceased). Its everything she has wanted at first until she starts to see his narcissistic, abusive side. Soon she finds herself in a cat and mouse game with no rules...a game that might be played to the death. Although this was a fast pace thriller, there were few trusts and turns and I found the plot similar to other thriller I have read recently. It became boring that every plan Marlena set in action worked out in her favor. I just found the overall story lacking.

I loved this! Go Ann Aguirre! I felt this book in that way that while reading it I was yes girl handle it! Then looking around to see other people looking at me. 🤷🏼♀️ Then got them wanting to read it from my outburst. Anyways a book that makes you actually exclaim out loud is a good book.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to read this novel in exchange for an honest review.
Oh and the cover art is super stylish and gives intrigue like ooh what’s this about.

Thank you to NetGalley and Ann Aguirre for allowing me to read and review The Third Mrs. Durst. I really enjoyed this novel. It kept my attention and was an all-around enjoyable read! I'll be recommending it.

Great book! I think this is one of the best books I've read this year.It has so many twists and turns and very believable characters. The story is unique and the ending is so unpredictable.. It is so refreshing to read a novel that is not like so many others. I highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys this genre.

I am rather torn over my exact feelings on this novel after finishing it. I devoured it within about 3 hours and it is definitely action-packed in the second half of the book. The story is engaging: beautiful young woman marries wealthy and powerful man who is a serious control freak with ties to the Russian underworld. One would wonder why any thinking woman would willingly walk into a toxic marriage but through little hints from the author, we learn that she has her own motives for doing so. It's an interesting and suspenseful premise but I honestly had trouble really relating to any of the characters enough to care what happened to them. The controlling husband is fairly two-dimensional and completely ridiculous at times. I expected him to be a little more resourceful and really just smarter, but time and again he overlooked things that should have set alarm bells tuning for anyone sneaky enough to be working with shady criminals (and making a ton of money doing so). I felt like the book started out at 4 stars for the first half and then 3 stars for the second. Maybe I'm just bothered by sex being used as a weapon but this book just felt empty and downright mean at times.

Super crazy rollercoaster ride of a book! There were moments that I wish were explained a bit more, because they just felt kind of thrown out there without any backstory explaining how it occured or hinting that would lend it credibility, but otherwise a great, thrilling read that blew my mind!

I wish I could say I loved this book, but honestly I found it really hard to connect with and get into. It made
The beginning pages had me very intrigued and I was excited for what was going to happen, thinking it was going to be a mystery/thriller.
I was really disappointed and after DNF'ed it several times. It felt too forced and just to out there with the controlling and ever so powerful husband with Russian Mob connections. I stuck with it hoping the ending would at least be worth it, but it fell flat and was confusing, but not in a good way.
I cannot recommend this book and I put it at a 2/2.5.
Thank you #Netgalley, the author and the publisher for my free ARC in exchange for my honest review. I wish you success with this book.

*Thank you to the publisher for an ARC of this book in return for a fair and honest review.
This one sounded like it would be right up my alley. A "gripping, psychological read". Nope. Not even close. Upon finishing I felt as if I needed a long, hot shower. This book just felt tawdry and dirty and icky to me.
None of the characters are even remotely likable, including the main character. She's a cold, calculating mess. The gore is over the top for my taste. I don't recommend this one.

*5 Stars*
ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book. It was really good, with interesting characters. It kept me interested the whole way through, and had a really good ending.
Would recommend.

A solid revenge story with a strong and clever heroine. The pacing of the plot was slow in parts, but the payoffs were worth the wait. I was not a fan of the way the author teased at parts of Marlena's motive and driving force rather than just coming right out and telling you. It actually led me to get annoyed with Marlena because her actions didn't make any sense. Holding off on some of those reveals didn't heighten the tension or make the story more interesting. I did enjoy watching Marlena's plans come together and seeing all of the pieces fall into place. She was both lucky and smart. This may just be because I'm a big Arya Stark fan, but I would have liked to have seen Michael suffer more. My vengeful side was hoping to have a moment where he knew it was all about to end for him. A little more about his past and rise to money and power would have helped make him a more complete character rather than just a misogynistic psycho. The only hole in the plot is that Michael didn't seem to do much research on Marlena despite his claims that he knew all about her. Jenny and Vin were great supporting characters who helped flesh out Marlena's character and make her a stronger person overall.

An outrageous revenge read! With a poor, abusive background she knew what she wanted and took it. . She became the third wife to live the ‘grass-is-greener’ fantasy. Will be a best seller, for sure!

Stories often surprise me, but The Third Mrs. Durst really surprised me. I love an excellent twist here and there. This is a dark menacing thriller about a young backwoods girl who escapes that life of extreme poverty. Instead, she becomes a model and attracts the attention of an older man, Mr. Durst. She wants the life that will come from being this rich man's wife. At least, that's what she thinks at first. He's not the same behind closed doors. He's every married woman's nightmare, the controlling abusive husband/stellar public citizen and man about town. How will she untie herself from this man? Well, I'm certainly not going to tell you that. This is an excellent read that will steal hours of your life before you realize it. So tense and taught and chilling! Read it! Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

This just isn't for me.
Do I think some people are going to absolutely love this story? Definitely. Did I? No. It was a struggle to get through which is disappointing as the summary sounded amazing! I would pick the book up, put it down, and just forget about it for days. I'd pick it back up and... the writing style was just too simple for me. It felt rushed in the beginning and I just could not connect with the characters or the story. It just didn't feel like anything new or exciting for me.

That was a study in unrealiable narrators, unlikeable characters and misdirection. I slowly plod through the first half - not loving it, but not hating it. There was a lot of telling going on, but you don't know if what you're being told is right, because suddenly some important fact comes out of left field. With that being said, by the last third of this book, I was glued to the pages and I don't think I looked up even once. I was sitting at my kitchen table, and I realized that I felt I was there in the pages with them, and that doesn't happen often. The storyline is a bit farfetched, yet slightly brilliant at the same time...and there were a few things that caused me to heavily eyeroll. All in all, though, I was engaged and taken away, and that's always a good thing!

It’s been a while since I’ve been genuinely intrigued by a domestic thriller but this one did not disappoint! Reminded me a little of Behind Closed Doors in some ways but with a great twist at the end that I didn’t expect! I’d recommend this to any of my reading friends

I just finished this ARC. I kept my Kindle under my pillow and when I woke up in the middle of the night I would grab it and read a few more chapters. I didn’t approach the book as a “who done it” and read it as an unfolding story. Then there would be some random detailing and I started to realize there was so much more coming. The characters are terrifyingly manipulative and frightening to think that people can be so ugly to the core over money and standings. It makes me feel a little like Pollyanna and quite naive. I can watch today’s news and see the corruption and coverups and the willingness to sell your soul for... well what exactly. What’s the price? Is it ever enough. The extremes that some will go to is a world I don’t understand and don’t want to really acknowledge because I am afraid of my own ability to think the best of people. This book will make you squirm and make you feel as if you need a good shower. There are plenty of twists and turns and questions along the way. I enjoyed the book but hated the story if that even makes sense. I need to go put on a Hallmark movie quickly!

This novel is amazing! The plot was delivered perfectly- just enough details, just enough conversation, and just enough to keep you begging for more! And ending someone could only dream of, I was SO happy that Marlena gets what she deserves.
The driving point, for the third Mrs. Durst to act out her special plan, is dropped in tasteful morsels along the way, keeping you on edge to see what’s next. The definition of a page turner for sure, I cannot wait to purchase this and share it with my family and friends. One of the best written books I’ve read in a long time!
This story is in no way cheesy, predictable, cliche, or over the top. It’s everything you could want in a book- love, revenge, and an emotional roller coaster!

I received a free, advanced copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest and fair review.
The beginning of the novel sets things up and introduces us to Marlena Altizer's young life. This part is somewhat tedious and hard to get through, but if you get about 20% in, then you will get hooked. Marlena hatches a revenge plan that is not altogether clear, but devious and dangerous. She hooks, lines and sinks Michael Durst, but not without risking both her and her sister's life. Marlena goes through a lot to get revenge on a man who stole her surrogate older sister's life. Some of it was far fetched but entertaining to read. Finally Marlena gets the upper hand. I wouldn't necessarily buy this book myself but if you want to read it, borrow from the library or wait for a sale.
