Great book. I was hooked on the main characters from the start. Couldn't wait to see what happened. I would recommend this book and will be trying others from the author as well.

A young woman encounters the killer she accused years earlier—and finds herself drawn back into a vortex of evil she thought she’d left far behind her.
A decade after Cadence Lawrence accused the perpetrator in the brutal murder of her high school friend, she’s finally put the nightmare to rest. But the ghosts of her past won’t rest, and an unexpected encounter with the killer reawakens demons she thought were long dead. Gripped by paranoia, Cadence fears she’s being stalked, and suspects that the murderer has invaded the sanctity of her home. Could her chance encounter have rekindled the savage rage that claimed the life of her friend and now threatens Cadence herself?
When I was in high school I loved short mysteries, Harlequin and Silhouette both had romantic mysteries that were under 200 pages. A lot of those authors moved on to continue to write thrillers Sandra Brown, Catherine Coulter, Nora Roberts, Fern Michaels to name a few! Kate Watterson has that light romantic thriller feel I would have liked less of the "we are stranded so lets have sex" pages and more of the thriller /mystery vibe. I did like the atmosphere; for a Florida beach native ,the snow bound Wisconsin descriptions of the landscape really made me want to book a vacation ! My #Thrillerthursday challenge bookclub was reading one word titles for February and this caught my eye on #Netgalley, I found myself gasping in suspense, and wishing for more pages, or a part two! It was nice for a quick read, and I most certainly will pick up another of Kate's titles!
Blindsided is a good thriller it has a slow start but stick with it and you will enjoy the characters.
Chilling and haunting! This book was an capacitive read. We never van escape our pasts. Beware, it will keep you up late reading.
I enjoyed this story, though it took awhile to draw me in. I kept feeling that the beginning read too much like a romance novel, rather than your typical mystery or thriller. There is a lot of snow imagery and you will almost feel as trapped as the main character, Cadence, and her good samaritan rescuer, that's for sure. Once they are able to get out of the cabin, the story does pick up and it kept my interest more. There is also a narrative told from an agent's point of view who is chasing the same man that Cadence is running from. Her character didn't seem that well developed to me., though, and I feel like maybe less of her would have been better. There really wasn't too much surprising or thrilling in the plot, but it was an enjoyable page-turner, as the author's writing flows well (except please tone down the Harlequin romance vibe).
I thought this was a good read. I did however had it figured out sooner than I wanted it. It has some good elements and interesting twists but it lacked a sense of anticipation.
I didn’t really enjoy Blindsided, I found it to be a little confused in the last half and I felt the main characters and their relationship didn’t really ring true. The story itself was ok but without believable characters and the last part of the book feeling like everything was thrown in, I was glad when I reached the end.
Honestly, I loved the premise of this book. I love winter and I love thrillers. The two combined are always a hit in my books. However...
The grammar and word choice is extremely amateur I'm afraid. I couldn't get past the 50% mark without cringing every second line. The author needs a new editor, at least.
Once that is fixed, I feel this could be a decent story.
Loved this book. It has just the right amount of romance mixed with a thriller. It kept me on the edge of my seat. I stayed up late to finish it. At first you only know Cadence Lawrence is running away from someone or something. Then gradually as she stays with her rescuer Mick you learn more of her story. It was an excellent read and I enjoyed it very much.
A very good premise. Was fast paced and gripping and had a few twists. An enjoyable read but lacked emotion. W

This did have a bit of a slow start, but it picked up about half way through for me. I liked the idea of the storyline and the characters were absolutely fantastic! It wasn't my favorite book but it wasn't bad either. My favorite part was about how the Wisconsin winter came to life, the detail was excellent and makes you feel the chill in the air.
Thank you #NetGalley for the ARC of #Blindsided

I picked up this book during the middle of a major snowstorm, not realizing it would mimic conditions in the most frightening part of the story, talk about freaked out! Cadence Lawrence fingered her best friend’s murder back in high school, and ten years on, has just started to believe she can put the whole ugly mess behind her, then she bumps into the killer. She’s terrified that now she will be next, that the killer is stalking her, so she runs. Unfortunately, she’s caught in the teeth of a Wisconsin blizzard. Stranded and alone, she’s forced to accept hep from a total stranger, but it’s not long before she’s regretting her choice and Cadence begins to wonder if she will make it through the storm alive. Okay, DON’T read this during a storm, the feeling of claustrophobia is intense
I couldn’t get into this. It started slowly, and the characters were boring. I always give books the first 50 pages. I struggled with all 50 before I put it down.
