There is almost nothing I like better than getting lost in a great thriller and this author sure can deliver! Lucy Kincaid is back and she is teamed up with the local Sheriff when there appears to be a serial killer on the loose. Three bodies have been found with nothing to tie them together but their deaths are so similar they have to have been killed by the same person. Lucy, of course, is all about the psychological aspects but the Sheriff wants nothing to do with that as he has been burned in the past but that is not going to stop Lucy. It was good to see Sean and the boys and even though there is some dangerous stuff going on with them, Sean has it well in hand. This one has some great twists and turns to keep me guessing.
Nothing to Hide continues the adventures of FBI Agent Lucy Kincaid. This book is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone book. Allison Brennan fills this book with loads of suspense.
One of my favorite installments in the Lucy Kincaid series. Lots of action, mystery and plot twists.
I like that there are 2 mysterious to be solved. The murder of 4 different men late at night on a Friday. The trouble Jesse, Michael and Brian find themselves in when Brian's brother is released from jail.
Looking forward to the next book in the series to see what troubles come about with Lucy and the family!
Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Thought this was a very well paced thriller with plenty of detailed detective work. Lucy is charged with investigating the murder of several men. The story takes several twist and turns as the evidence points to a cold calculated thriller. I enjoyed reading the thoughts and process that Lucy and her team took to get into the mind of the killer. Overall a shilling novel.
FBI Agent Lucy Kincaid is good at getting into the heads of killers and victims both. But her latest case stumps even her. Three bodies showed up with the same unique and troubling MO yet any leads Lucy and the FBI gets lead to a dead end. But when Lucy probes into the case deeper and the victims specifically, she catches the widows in a lie and as she unravels the lies and misdirection’s, she finds a more sinister MO than even she imagined. Can Lucy solve this case before another life is lost to a killer who seems to be taunting the FBI with their kills?
I love the Lucy Kincaid series with a passion and NOTHING TO HIDE is a fast-paced thriller that will leave you breathless from all the twists and turns the author hides within the storyline. I really enjoy seeing where Lucy goes in her career even as she and Sean ponder moving or having Lucy request a transfer within the FBI but when a case pulls Lucy in, Sean figures prominently as he helps her deal with the case as well down the well in her mind as she figures out possible connections and more. I love how this author delves into Lucy’s world with aplomb and keep my attention as I traveled along with Lucy and Sean as they try to figure out the killer and solve the most maddening case Lucy has dealt with in the FBI.
NOTHING TO HIDE introduces a case that has stumped Lucy and the FBI. Three murders of married men who supposedly led honest lives but all the leads Lucy chases down lead to nothing. Lucy is frustrated ye until she catches a widow in a lie does Lucy start to tear apart the lives of the victims searching for a motive to the deaths. I love how the author keeps coming up with unique cases that showcase Lucy’s wonderful and unique mind that just doesn’t think like others do. It’s fun to see where Lucy’s mind goes. The relationship between Sean and his newfound son is fun to read about and the relationship Sean has with his brothers also figure in the latest book. The author does a great job in capturing it all within the newest installment, NOTHING TO HIDE. The pacing and storyline flow smoothly and kept my attention till the very end.
If you enjoy a fast-paced suspense that will keep you entertained till the end, then grab the latest Lucy Kincaid book, NOTHING TO HIDE. I can’t wait to see where the author goes next with Lucy, Sean and the rest of the Kincaid/Rogan families.
This is an objective review and not an endorsement
I thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book. This author was new to me and I was not let down. It was a great story and very well written. The characters were easy to relate to and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend this to everyone!!
This book gives us two unique story lines in one to keep us guessing how they will marry up in the end. As the law enforcement agencies work together to stop a serial killer, a group of young men learn to count on each other for support. Both story lines will keep you reading to find their solutions. This was a very good book with well written characters and lots of suspense built into the stories. I've read Allison Brennan books before and will keep looking for them when choosing my next read.

My Review:
I had been hearing the buzz about “Nothing to Hide” when I was provided with this book for free in exchange for my honest opinion. Wow, what a great book!!!
Nothing to Hide is about Lucy Kincaid investigating the murder of an executive chef. To investigate the San Antonio County Police Department call in the FBI to assist. However, Detective Jerry Walker does not like the idea of the FBI coming in and taking away from all of the work he has done by pushing him out of the way. While all of this is happening Lucy’s husband and brother are busy trying to take down a local gang. It’s interesting read, especially seeing the dynamics of gang life and how it affects family members.
Overall, the story is a page turner filled with suspense and edge of your seat reading. This suspenseful novel will leaving you wanting more.
I give this a 5 star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I received an advanced copy of Nothing to Hide through NetGalley. Allison Brennan doesn't fail to disappoint with a fantastic new addition to the FBI Agent Lucy Kincaid series. Lucy and Investigator Jerry Walker are investigating two bodies that have been killed in a very unusual manner. Then there comes the third man. The victims are all very normal people, with no connection or motive for their murders. Walker doesn't trust the FBI and therefore Lucy. In a second pot twist, Sean, Lucy’s husband, is dealing with his son, Jesse, and the trauma that he suffered when his mother was killed. Jesse's friends are also involved in something and Sean must work to save them and his son. As usual, Lucy helps to solve the crime using great police work and her psychology skills. I am a huge Allison Brennan fan and this is just another in a long line of wonderfully suspenseful books.
The author wrote a thriller that started with a bang and just kept going! The twists kept coming, so I couldn't put it down. I cannot wait to read more from this author!
FBI agent Lucy Kincaid is assisting with a case of murder victims, who are all married men with adoring wives. When Lucy catches each widow in a lie, she realizes that things aren't as they seem. What begins as a straightforward investigation, turns into something darker than she could ever imagine. This book kept me on the edge of my seat. I had a hard putting it down.
So this is my first Lucy Kincaid book, and I felt like I should have read the series in order. The writer does give a bit of a backstory for some of the characters, but I still felt lost. Also, I was not fully convinced with the ending.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC.
Anything written by Allison Brennan is always magnificent. She is one of the authors that when I see her name on a book I have to read it or buy it. Lucy is one of my favorite characters she has written and she just becomes stronger. Thank you NetGalley for letting me read this author, this book.
If you have never delved into the world of Lucy Kinkaid, this book is a good opportunity. Always edge of your seat suspense. Great world building, wonderful characters and suspense that will keep you guessing.
This is the first book in the Lucy Kincaid series that I have read and although it is book #15 in the series, you can easily read it as a standalone as I did. I really enjoyed the writing style of this novel and I am definitely interested in checking out the other books in this series.
FBI Agent Lucy Kincaid is a very likable character. She was very knowledgeable in her work and seemed like a kick ass FBI Agent. She knew what she wanted and how to get it, and was hardworking, determined, and not afraid for fight for what she wanted and what she believed in. This case baffles her. Three murdered married men, with no clues, no evidence, no DNA left anywhere, nothing. How can that be? Determined to solve this case, she sets off to uncover what truly happened and bring those responsible to justice.
Lucy is partnered on this case with a member of the local police department who has no use for her or anyone else from the FBI. He states they have messed up his investigations before and he would rather work alone. Despite this fact, Lucy grows on him, and it is interesting to read and their working relationship and seeing him begin to warm up to her and the idea of working with her, even though she is an FBI agent.
This case is more than just a murder investigation. It is not as cookie-cutter and straight forward as that, as there are forces more dark and sinister at work here. What that is exactly, Lucy is determined to find out.
I always love her books always well writtien always look forward to the next! sorry my review was late did not read it in time! thank u for the chance to read! she is one of my favs!
FBI Agent Lucy Kincaid is working with County Investigator Jerry Walker on a serial killer case in Nothing to Hide. Unfortunately, Jerry has a distrust of FBI psychological profiles due to an earlier case.
The victims seem to have nothing in common besides being male, under 40 and married. The murder method is identical. Each victim stops while driving home at night, is tased, beaten including crushed hands, and finally shot in the head. The entire crime takes less than five minutes.
Concurrently, Lucy’s stepson, Jesse, is sucked into a situation while trying to help a friend. To resolve this issue, Lucy and her husband Sean must improve their communication and parenting skills.
I love police procedurals. I enjoyed the interactions between skeptical Jerry and thinker Lucy while they were investigating the serial killer case. However, my interest was not held by the family drama portion of the book. This issue was probably caused by my lack of reading any earlier entry in this now fifteen book series.
For series readers, Nothing to Hide probably will rate 4.5 stars. For others, who like me are jumping in here, this book rates 3.5 stars. It is definitely worth reading for the twisty mystery of the killer’s identity and motive. The writing style is fluid. The characters are well-written. Overall, the book rates 4 stars.
Thanks to Minotaur Books and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review.
Nothing to Hide by Allison Brennan
Lucy Kincaid #15
As I began to read this book I thought I had read about Lucy Kincaid before and then something I read in this book reminded me I had read of her capture and horrible experience at the hands of a sadistic man and more. I loved that book, though it was not easy to read, and realized that as this is book 15 and the last one I read in the series was book two...I have missed a LOT of Lucy’s life stories and cases. Andy you know what? I didn’t need to read the books in the middle for this book to make perfect sense. I now need to find out where I can pick up the books I have missed and make sure to read them!
This book starts with Lucy at a murder sight checking the body where it lies. She has been asked to assist the local detective, Jerry Walker, in determining who the serial murderer of three (so far) men might be. There is a lot of detecting, interviewing, brain storming, discussion and police procedure that takes place with discussion of evidence, recreation of the murders and a bit of friction between Jerry and Lucy when she wants to call in the FBI for a profile of the murderer. In addition to finding the murderer there is a second thread to this book that has to do with some orphan boys that Jesse, Lucy’s stepson, has befriended. There seems to be a back story about the boys and about Jesse that I would love to read. Anyway, I usually read the end of books first but managed not to this time and have to say it took me a LONG time to figure out who the baddie was. Even when I was beginning to tweak to who it might be I wasn’t sure if it was this one or that one and guessed wrong at first. So...good job Ms Brennan!
Did I like this book? Definitely
Will I read more in this series? As soon as I can!
Thank you to NetGalley and SMP-Minotaur for the ARC – This is my honest review.
5 Stars
Can you keep your family safe? FBI Agent Lucy Kincaid worries about her stepson Jesse after all the trauma that he has been through the last year. Her husband Sean is trying to hold it all together as he blames himself for not keeping him and his ex-wife safe. Lucy knows that she can't push and that things will hopefully work themselves out. She has just been given a new case a young father has been gunned down and the crime scene isn't giving up any clues and the sheriff's deputy that she is meant to be working with just isn't interested in her at all. She is a good agent and she knows that if they work together they just might catch the killer before they strike again. Deputy Sheriff Jerry Walker wants nothing to do with the FBI he had a case go really bad and he knows that they will try and take over the cases. So how does he make sure that doesn't happen? This is the 3rd victim and Lucy knows that they are all related but they just can't seem to find the link. They didn't hang out at the same places, all worked different jobs and lived different lives. So why did the killer chose them?
Sean knows that something is happening with Jesse and his friends at the home but Jesse isn't willing to open up and he has no idea what he can do to change that. So he leaves it for now but he needs to find out what is happening as his son doesn't usually tell lies. Jesse knows that he & his friends are in over their heads but they don't want to bring anyone else into this mess but when will they realize that they need help? Lucy knows that the clues are leading them to one person but what is their motive? Will she & Jerry bring the killer to justice before more people land up dead?
Will Jesse ask for help before it is too late?
A good read. I was lucky enough to receive a copy via Netgalley & the publishing house in exchange for my honest review.
Another great read in this series. Full of action, suspense, and thrills. This author never disappoints. This is the 15th book, yet the characters continue to grow, Lucy and Sean never get stale. All the characters are interesting. The case is intriguing. The writing is fantastic. This book delivers!
