I really enjoyed this book. Author Kristin Funston has a really great balance in sharing from her personal perspective and experiences while linking us to the Word. I found the topics relatable, refreshing and helpful. Perspective is key. There’s a time to rest and a time to act and do as a mom—I love how she creates balance and helped me understand the seasons as well as the insights for all the doings we seem to be doing.
Although there’s nothing new under the sun—I found her book refreshing and something I’ve turned back to three times— whenever I start to feel overwhelmed. I feel like she is someone who understands the way moms can feel exhausted and pulled two different ways. She brings back clarity and reminds me of Who and what is priority.
I received this complimentary copy for an honest review. I really enjoyed reading this book. It’s as if the author is sitting beside you talking and I love her honesty and humor. I also enjoyed her ability to tie in scripture to various issues she is discussing. This was a great book and I would highly recommend to others!
More for Mom is well written and a must-read. Did you know that Jesus provides more, even for the over-worked mom? It's ok to say no when needed. It's ok turn to other moms, not for comparison but for confirmation.
This book is an encouraging and loving chat to weary moms. The author incorporates honesty and conviction into each chapter. She doesn’t beat us down, but instead, lifts us up. There is more LIFE available for us. She wants each of us to know that we can be whole—living as Jesus wants us to live.
One of my favorite quotes: “As loving, busy, work-hard mamas, we know life can beat us down and take from us. But it’s a lie that we have to give so much that we are depleted emotionally, physically, and spiritually every day. Even when it doesn’t feel like it, we know we live in a place of abundance, a place of wholeness and holiness through our Christ Jesus.”
This book helps Moms find this. I recommend this book to any mom who wants to sit down with a friend and find encouragement and help during this season.

I feel like Kristin was speaking straight to my heart and gave some great advise on how to be a better mom without trying to be perfect. The writing gets a bit muddled here and there and I got lost a few times about what points she was trying to get across, but all in all, this is a worthwhile read for stressed out moms.
New author for me but pleasantly surprised. Thank you for the approval and look forward to a book relationship with other reads in the future,
This book was a still small voice of encouragement, with lots of highly applicable Scripture woven into the narrative. An authentic voice that was challenging but filled with grace, and empathy for some of those times when we struggle, Kristin doesn't condescend or lecture, she lays out her own failures or perceived failures with honesty, and shares her triumphs with humility and with a clear goal of helping other moms learn from her experiences Her applications from the lessons in her journey were outlined beautifully and clearly. I will be re-reading this as a reminder of how to stay focused on what matters, and to rest in knowing that I don't do the work, God does. I will be looking forward to more from this author, and telling friends about this book, especially new Moms in the middle of the overwhelm!
This book is a devotional for mom's to take a moment or two for themselves. The adage is true- you can't take care of other's if you don't first take care of yourself- so I think books like this are important . I didn't get as much from it as I had hoped but I like the general idea of the book and did find it to be uplifting.
More for Mom is a Christian Motherhood truth-bomb, jam packed with stellar advice and encouragement. It is honest, relatable and funny. Kristen shows moms how to use biblical knowledge and principles and apply it to our day-to-day in making wise decisions. It is easy to become frustrated or feel like you are too busy as a Mother, and Kristen gives tips to help you survive motherhood. An uplifting and inspiring read that touches the heart.

Many people who see this book title may assume that it is for women who are of child-bearing age. Well, I am many years past that time but it calls to me because I am deeply involved in the care of my five year-old granddaughter. It also speaks to me because I sometimes feel that I just can't get it all done. I know that I'm not alone because most of us experience heavy demands on our time and our busy lives can occur at any age! One of the chapters in More for Mom is titled "More Time" and the author discusses how to shift our time and energy back to Jesus. She also shows us how to use Biblical truths to gain a new perspective. Funston tells us that "The small pieces of our lives that seem separate from one another actually work together to complete who we are, because we have a Creator who speaks through our pieces from a place of true wholeness."
In another excerpt she shares Luke 12:23. Jesus tells his disciples that "For life is more than food, and the body is more than clothes". Funston reminds us that "Life is Who we allow to complete it, and our body is Who we allow to fill it". Wow!
More for Mom is filled with bible scripture and Funston's own personal experiences and it is a book that encourages, motivates and inspires. So, whether you are a twenty-something stay-at-home mother; a thirty-something mother with a career; or even a sixty-something grandmother who is once again in the mothering business---it doesn't matter because---this book is for you! More for Mom can help you can find truth and encourage you to find a way to enjoy a "whole and holy life".

Definitely a great book it reminded me to slow down and enjoy life. Wish I had this book several years ago when I first became a mom.
I loved this book. Being a new mom, I spend most days sleepwalking from my mom duties to wife duties to work duties. This book made me feel known and seen. It was encouraging and refreshing to read that my struggles are not unique, and there is a community of women fighting the good fight right alongside me!
Good Book for us Moms who have felt worn out, squeezed out, or just plain tired out! We’ve forgotten for God has for us, as His daughters! We forget that He wants to minister to us too, even as we are ministering and serving everyone else. I especially enjoyed Kristin’s chapter on fasting and being creative with our time with God. Sometimes we need to meet Him, even in the chaos, or if you’re me...especially during the chaos!! God’s still got more for me!
