If you love your romances packed with witty banter, shmexy goodness, lots of fun, and a whole lot of football go read this.

When the new coach of the San Antonio Mustangs goes gangbusters and fires a handfull of players he'll need help rebuilding the team. What will he do when the only person to not buckle and stand up to his bold, brash ways is the one who will leave him breathless?

Charlotte James loves her job and that she finally was rewarded for her knowledge in a field she loves. When her new boss threatens to destroy that balance the fun begins.

If a rule loving quirky badass can soften a former quarterback and prove that sometimes the playbook needs to be tossed out the window their happy ending will be the play of the century.

I have chosen not to give feedback on this title, which is probably pretty obvious as it was released almost 2 years ago.

My apologies for the delay. I don't want to rate/review titles that don't work for me when they are close to release or available on NetGalley, but it seems I forgot to go back and update the DNF status.

As always, I appreciate the opportunity to read and review.

Charlotte was a stickler for the rules. She lived and breathed the, since they provided order to her life that once seemed out of control. Accompanying her boss to a wedding shouldn’t be an issue since it would allow her to help him to restructure the struggling football team. Sometimes rules are made to be broken when you are following your heart’s greatest desires.

I thought this was a pretty good read! Fake relationships turned real are one of my favorite types of stories! The writing flowed well for the most part, although I did have to put it down and come back to it about half way through. I thought Lance was a good guy, but he did have his hang ups about trusting anyone. Charlotte's hang ups about following the rules got tedious after awhile. Every time anything came up, there were forms and sections of the handbook mentioned. It would have been okay mentioned a few times, not every chapter. I thought that Lance and Charlotte were good together when they could both let go of their pasts. The ending was super sweet, and loved that it fit in so well with the story. I would definitely read more books from this author.

A cute romantic comedy.

Lance inherited the Mustangs NFL team from his grandfather and on his first day he fired all of the management team ... except for the HR person, Charlotte. Charlotte worked hard for her position with the Mustangs and she wasn’t about to let the privileged ex-quarterback wreck it for her ... so she would wow him with her knowledge of the game and every player’s stats. When Lance convinces her to go out of state with him to his brother’s wedding, so that they can start to rebuild the team together ... well how can she refuse that. Even though Charlotte felt the lust toward him ... she was certain it wasn’t reciprocated.

This is a cute romance that will make you laugh one minute and swoon the next. I loved that Charlotte knew more about the stats of the players than any of the men she worked with. And who wouldn’t love a hunk with a heart of gold like Lance? This is a sweet story that will lift your heart.

I received a copy from Entangled Publishing through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

I didn’t really care about the two main characters getting together. I wish they would have had more serious and heartfelt moments where I could really see them connect.

I like Cindi Madsen's books! So this one was a good and fun read by the pool for me. I love a good sports romance book!

A decent book. Did not find it to be that great though. Seemed similar to other books of the same genre.

For the life of me, I have no idea why I haven’t read anything by Cindi Madsen before. My bad. And, after The Wedding Deal, I will not make that mistake again. I adored this story. I had so much fun reading this story. Lance and Charlotte sizzled from the minute she stormed into his office and read him the HR handbook.

Lance was an HR nightmare. Said what he meant when he wanted to say it and consequences be damned. He was going to do what needed to be done to get the Mustangs back into the game. Firing everyone seemed to be a good start. How he did it was another story. When Charlotte makes her entrance, he’s not sure if he should scowl or smile. But, he did know that she was a force to be reckoned with, knew what she was talking about and was going to be one heck of an asset. That is, if he could keep his mind and eyes off her assets.

Charlotte knew who Lance Quaid was. She was grateful to his grandfather for giving her a chance and letting her prove her worth to the team. Stats … she was on it. HR … she was on it. Trusting people and their motives, well not so much. She’s been burned one to many times by boyfriends and by her family. But, how can she not help rebuild the team that she has loved forever. It’s Texas, you cannot NOT be a football fan and want a winning season. Too bad she can’t totally keep her mind on business with Lance strutting around. She’s determined to not let her mind and her libido go there but, it can’t help to look.

When their time together turns into time with his family and seeing what a real family dynamic is all about, Charlotte can’t help but wish she had some of this growing up. And, her time alone with Lance working on the team and just getting to know him has done something to her as well. As for Lance, he can’t help but see the other side of his rule following HR manager and he’s afraid that she”s breaking down the walls he so carefully built after his injury. But, can he trust her to be who he thinks she is, to not betray him? Time will tell.

I truly loved this story and how it was written. It was light and fun then serious. It was hot and steamy then just sexy. All the elements that make a really great read. Then, when you look beyond Lance and Charlotte and see the people they are surrounded by, you can’t help but have a good time. What a fun family the Quaid’s are! But, what I loved most was how the story told itself … how Lance and Charlotte started trusting again … what they both had to overcome to get to their HEA. Cindi Madsen gave me an ending that brought a smile to my face and tears to my eyes. Like I said in the beginning, I will not make the mistake of not reading Cindi Madsen again. I loved her storytelling abilities, her character building and the way the story flowed. And, of course, football!

A rule maker and a rule breaker — a perfect combination for a sweet romantic story. Candi Madsen isn’t an author I’ve previously read but The Wedding Deal has me search for her other books.

Lance and Charlotte are both adorable characters that you can’t help but love. Their road to happily ever after has a few bumps and the hilarious way Candi describes its make for an entertaining read.

I’m looking forward to reading her other works.

This book reminded me of Susan Elizabeth Phillips Chicago Stars series. I hope there will be more in this series. The Wedding Deal is a fun, frothy beach read. I loved it!

Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

Former quarterback Lance Quaid just inherited the most losing team in the NFL. He’s got only a few weeks until draft day to turn things around, and after firing more than half his staff, he can’t do it alone. Thankfully, his HR manager is more than capable. Charlotte James is rule following, statistic knowing, football loving and trying to pretend she isn’t completely into her new boss, Lance.

They need to rebuild the team quickly but Lance has to go out of town for his brothers wedding. He and Charlotte decide it is most practical if she goes with him as his “date” which will keep his mom off his back and help get work done quickly. Charlotte is on board as long as they fill out all the appropriate paperwork and keep things pg.

Will they be able to keep things professional or will feelings become involved?

I loved the characters and the book was well written!

It has taken me a while to get my review up. That’s because it has taken just as long to get through this book.
I’m kinda disappointed. This is my first read by this author, and I have heard great things about her work. I will give her one more try in the future.

This is a different take on a sports romance, as Lance Quaid is a former football player. Football is basically the family business, and he has inherited the ownership of the San Antonio Mustangs from his last grandfather.

He comes in wanting to clean up and get rid of the dead weight that’s been bringing the team down for years. So naturally, he fires 98% of the staff except for the head of HR - Charlotte James.

The beautiful, smart and rule-following Charlotte never hesitates to put Lance in his place which makes for some pretty funny moments throughout this book.

They had a good push and pull, but I always felt like there was just that extra something that was missing in this duo.
I think a major problem with this novel was how it dragged on. This book didn’t need to be so long. It didn’t exactly add substance, just extra pages of the same things repeated over and over.

It was an okay read for me, it had lots of potential. The epilogue was sweet.

Business becomes a personal pleasure for two unpredictable hearts. The Wedding Deal turns mayhem on the football field into a fiery attraction everywhere else. Cindi Madsen lightens the mood and scores points along the way. Lance and Charlotte are about to lock horns on and off the field. Can two control freaks allow themselves to relax long enough to fall in love? Madsen is the queen of witty romance. I love her.

This was a cute read. I don't know all that much about football but the characters still made it an interesting story.

This was my first book by this author and, well, I loved it. I've read other books with somewhat similar plot lines, but this one was unique enough that I didn't compare or think it was the same old same old.

I loved Charlotte. She was interesting, capable, and fun. The chemistry between the characters was off the charts and what's sexier than a smart, confident athlete?

I'm looking forward to reading more books by this author!

A fun and great romance read. Typical in plot to most romance novels, which can get very tiresome, but the author's knowledge of football used in the plot made it much more entertaining than most romance novels. A perfect beach read for those that like a quick, not super trashy romantic novel

This colleagues to lovers novel kicks off Cindi Madsen's new series. I think she did a really balanced job of setting up the football world, peopling it with players, family and friends that all have potential for their own story arcs, and giving readers a satisfactory romance. The hero and heroine of The Wedding Deal are very likable and easy to root for. The heroine can get a little too obsessive rules wise, but I could deal with that personality trait because she eventually relaxed. The pacing is even, the story entertaining, the happily ever after quite satisfactory, and the series looks promising. I look forward to the next installment.
I received my copy through NetGalley under no obligation.

Charlotte and Lance are as opposite as opposites can be. She's a stickler for rules and Lance looks for every loophole. So of course when Lance takes over managing a NFL team that has been struggling to stay on the field he has to make HUGE changes and he's not willing to be gentle about it. Charlotte is the HR manager and it's her job to listen, hold hands and put out fires. Only Lance is starting up fires faster than she can put out. But once he realises he needs her on his side Lance is willing to go above and beyond, including taking her on a 'work trip' as he attending his brother's wedding festivities. SO Charlotte pulls out her forms and he signs anything he needs to, to keep her by his side and his family and co-workers off his back. He just didn't realises that he's signed up for more than he bargained for.
